Their patty melts with no problem. My husband was the last one to eat his and he found a long piece of hair in his burger. Like a long strand. My hair is short like Halle Berry's 90's short. This wasn't my hair. This hair was embedded into the patty. This came from the store. We were disgusted! While things like this can happen, management needs to enforce that all employees in meat, bakery etc are wearing hairnets. Also do a better with your overall quality control!!!

Items will not be put in racks as neatly as in fancier supermarkets, but you'll find what you need AND this contributes to the price bring so so low. You have to try some things out and see if you like them: not everything at Aldi is as good as 'brandless' items from other supermarkets. They will not have 'everything ', for instance, they don't sell the full range of spices you would find at Trader Joe's or whole foods. There is no fresh bread, only the prepackaged kind. Variety of fruit and veggies is limited (see below for quality). I fully recommend everything organic, and there is quite a lot. Vegetarian "meats" and soy milk too! The aisle to the back, opposite the freezers, has seasonal items, such as Halloween things or German/Italian etc. try it out but don't get hooked, it will be gone in a few weeks. Likewise, non-food items such as cookware, clothing, garden items often change within a month or so, but this is my favorite aisle to score deals! Similar quality to Target, but lower prices. Why am I taking a star off, despite wonderful prices on daily needs (milk, eggs, flour, pasta, toilet paper etc) , good non-food deals and good service? The veggie and fruit section is a hit or miss: sometimes they have great fruit for low prices. Oftentimes, fruits/vegetables are sold out OR there is mold on the veggies and fruit, especially zucchini, green beans and berries. This really needs to change. This part of South Side Chicago is enough of a food desert the way it is. Stores that DO sell fresh fruits and vegetables really need to restock in time and make sure their produce is still edible.

I value that Mariano's stores typically have a wide variety and selection. It is also superb that they have a dining area. I have appreciated the ability to obtain prepared foods at Mariano's, including delicacies like sushi. I have found other great prepared foods at Mariano's that I enjoyed a lot, e.g,. succulent beef pot roast. It is fantastic that Mariano's have self checkout kiosks, which can help with convenience. There are also a significant number of Mariano's stores in Chicagoland.

Selling Spoiled Meat & Terrible Customer Service…read more Do not buy meat from this Mariano's butcher counter. Over the course of a few months, I have ended up with rotten, rancid chicken from here on three separate occasions. My most recent purchase was on March 30th, and I brought it back for a refund just two days later. When I brought the spoiled chicken back to the store around 8:30 PM, the customer service was just as bad as the food quality. I had to go through three different people just to get my money back. 1. First, the self-checkout cashier simply told me "the return counter is closed" and offered zero solutions for the biohazard I had purchased. 2. She called over Jennifer, who I thought was a manager. Jennifer told me I couldn't get a refund until the bookkeeper came in the next day and told me to just take the spoiled chicken--or the label--back home with me. I firmly refused to carry rotting meat back to my condo. I asked her to look up my purchase via my Mariano's rewards number, but she didn't know how (or didn't want to) and had to call the actual manager. 3. Finally, a manager named Michael came over. After forcing me to explain the situation for a third time, he told me the receipt could be found through the app. I actually had to call my wife right there in the store so she could log into her app and pull up the receipt for him. The worst part of this entire experience was Michael's reaction. When I stressed how important it is for them to check their meat cooler temperatures because this was my third time buying rotten chicken, he completely dismissed me. He simply responded, "This is a first for me." A manager brushing off a serious health and food safety warning instead of investigating their coolers is alarming. Save yourself the money, the hassle, and the risk of food poisoning. Shop somewhere else for your "fresh" meats.
