I don't get why people are afraid to drop by. Is it paying .25 cents for cart and bringing your own bags? I am all for that. No plastic waste and there are no carts all over the parking lot. Jungle Jim's International Market is truly unlike any store I have ever been. It is hard to describe, but it is a grocery store, international market, restaurant, bar, and more, but all on steroids. They even have their own podcast! There are so many sections and areas in this store, that if you truly took your time to shop, it would probably take an entire day to see and experience it all. It is a must-stop if you are visiting Cincinnati, or are local to the area and have never been. There are two locations of this business, but we visited the Eastgate one this time. It specifically is located on Eastgate S Drive, in a strip with a few other businesses on each end. This is in the heart of the business district for the area, so it is not hard to locate and navigate to. The signage on the front facade is huge, colorful, and distinct. There is even a tram-type vehicle suspended above the street, so you will not miss it. Since this is in a business-heavy area, there is a ton of parking all around. We visited on a Saturday, and the parking lot out front was quite busy, but we still had no issue finding a spot just a minute or two walk away from the entrance. Once you walk in, that is when the fun begins. There is so much going on throughout the entire store, but in a good way. Similarly to a typical grocery store, there are different departments and areas for different items. However, the size of everything here is so much more grand. Each section could truly be its own store, given both the footprint and the variety of items available for purchase. This goes for both the "normal" grocery areas, as well as the international and specialty items. Not only is the variety of items available impressive, but the manner in which they are displayed is also very appealing. Each area is decorated with large displays and signage that hang from the ceiling, giving the whole place a whimsical and fun atmosphere. It is fun to not only shop the products, but see what kind of decor and sculptures will find you in the next area. I loved the beehive with rotating bees in the honey section! In addition to grocery and other food items, there are sections with cookwares, beer/wine/alcohol, cigars, clothing, pet items, seasonal items, and much more. I am sure you could do your regular grocery trip here, but it might take you a little longer due to both the size of the store and desire to peruse all of the different items they have! Another fun aspect of Jungle Jim's is the variety of dining options. There are several places to purchase prepared foods, most of them being around the bar area. There is also a Sushi section near the main entrance. The full-service bar offers different tastings, weekly specials, alcoholic slushies, and much more. We took some time to enjoy a brew during our visit. It was fun to walk around and shop while enjoying some beer. The store has different areas and stations for tastings, samples, demos, and events. They have an entire calendar on the website that outlines some of the various tastings and events they have monthly. Some of my favorite sections in the store were the Bakery and the Sauce/Spice area. The Bakery has many different fun and unique items that they make themselves. There are also different vendors and other local businesses featured not only in the bakery, but throughout the store. As far as the Sauce section, I truly have never seen so much hot sauce variety in my life. It is really fun to look around here and find something that you did not even know existed. The service here was very good overall. There are a lot of employees, and everyone we interacted with was helpful. Tons of checkout lines were open, and we did not have to wait super long to make our purchases. The bar had a slightly long line, but it was not terrible. There are some good values to be found here, if you look in the right places. I would definitely look at both the weekly ad and signage around to find some good deals. On our visit, I found some energy drinks for about $1 a can, which is a very good price. Some things will be more expensive, given that it is an international market, but overall I thought the pricing was fair for most items. This is a must if you are in Cincinnati for any length of time. Definitely budget a few hours if you want to look around and see all the store has to offer. I would advise grabbing a cart and your walking shoes, because the store is very large. I always love coming here and checking out the selection, even if I am not necessarily hunting for anything specific. This place is great for anyone, as there will be something you will enjoy or want to try here. Plus, they are a locally-owned business supporting other locally-owned businesses. The first experience shopping is almost overwhelming - it doesn't feel that big at first but it just keeps going and going and going. You can find some crazy deals scattered around. The rear entrance takes you directly to the (huge) liquor section, with a full bar where you can grab a drink while you shop. I recently heard about the story of Jungle Jim's starting as just a humble food stand in the 70s, which over time expanded to the attraction that it is today. It's not every day you see a store this size that's not owned by a billion-dollar international corporation. They're Cincinnati locals, family owned, made their success, and continue to provide value and entertainment to the families that visit. It's great to see. If you plan to visit, expect to be there for at least a couple of hours!

I bought bags of twelve cubes for $9-10, which I found very reasonable for organic baby food, and stocked my freezer full! They sell pears, plums, peaches, apples, bananas, sweet potatoes, lentils, peas, squash, avocado, oats and carrots. Not only did my baby love it and devour it, I actually enjoyed tasting it to check the temperature. It is food in its purest form and it made me feel like a wonderful mom since I was giving my baby the best! I did clicklist one other time and it was a damn disaster. I swore to myself I would never ever do it again, but unfortunately it is the safest option anymore. I decided to give it one more try. Well, first time shame on them, second time shame on me for trying again. I arrived at my pickup time. This place is quite a maze. There were friendly employees outside that greet you, explain the procedure, and direct you as to where to go. Check in here is now done on the app as opposed to calling a phone number. I pulled into my spot and waited. While I was waiting I noticed a TON of employees standing around... which is fine... plenty of people waiting to keep things moving BUT no one was wearing masks and they were NOT 6ft away from eachother AT ALL. I started to feel quite queasy about the safety of shopping here! I waited about 10 mins and a cheerful lady approached my car... sadly not 6ft back from my window though. She handed me my receipt as another person loaded my trunk (again no one wearing masks). I asked what about the substitutions I didnt want or my coupons and she said I had already been checked out. My understanding was, checkout was done at car, coupons given, and substitutions could be declined. While she was nice she said she didnt know anything about that and told me to have a nice day. I was forced to pay/keep things I didnt want, couldn't use my coupons, and more than half of my items were out of stock. An $85 order turned into a $25 order half of which was subs I didnt want. Lesson learned, AGAIN. I will stick to Walmart or Target for drive up where the procedure is 300% better, things are in stock, and the employees are acting in a safer and cleaner manner. PS, I tried to contact Kroger about this with no response or option to make things right.

This is a pretty common concept, and there's a chain of these around the areas , but this is the only one I've ever been to. You go in, everything is free portioned out and color-coded for you to just scoop as you go and make the meals ready to freeze, with some slight room for variation on your part. Don't like onions? Don't include, wanted a little spicier? Throw some ice Redpepper in there. You can't holistically change the proteins, but they did say they would work with you on vegetables and sides. For instance if you don't like green beans you could sub that dishes green beans for one of the other vegetables that week, and they are always willing to do that if you give them a heads up and for notice. This is important for me because I eat a very specific diet a lot of the time, and would not be willing to pay for food that I would meet. The prices are little higher than what I would like per serving, but with the introductory offer it works out to be a little over four dollars a serving. Without being a subscription, you can start and stop whenever you'd like, and buy food based on what you want to eat, this is a pretty good solution. Again I've yet to taste it yet, but I did try samples at the customer appreciation event back in June and thought it was a pretty good deal, will follow up whenever I actually thrown in the oven!

You can make an appointment online - look on their site for the Introductory Offer. It's about $75 for 18 servings (6 meals - 3 servings each). 2 - Go to your appointment. Upon entering you will notice that the store is amazingly organized - and this is coming from someone who is obsessed with organization! You will have your own drawer with your name on it to put your personal belongings and this will also have the cards of the meals that you selected on your online order. 3 - Make your meals. There is a "station" for each meal with the recipe of how to make it. All of the ingredients are laid out for you so all you need to do is scoop them into a bag. You can customize the amounts of spices you want to use to fit your preferences. When you are done making your meals you can place your order for your next appointment, sample food for next month's menu, have a cup of coffee, all while the amazing staff packs up all of your meals and wheels them out to your car for you. 4 - Go home and make your meals. The direction cards are so easy to follow and most meals take very little time to prepare. That's it! So easy! Yes, it is a little more expensive than if you were to buy groceries and make it yourself but the time that it will save you is invaluable AND it is still MUCH less expensive than eating out every night or hiring a personal chef to cook for you! If you are like me and either don't like cooking or just don't have the time, it's worth it to check it out. It might just make your life a little better too!
