I will always stop in this place if I'm in town. We were visiting for a soccer game right down the road and ended up spending over an hour here. They have toddler friendly shopping carts, plenty of unique fun food options, hot food options for lunch, all kinds of sweets and treats, a few dining tables next to a beautiful fireplace, and the kindest most helpful staff I've ever experienced. We had sandwiches for lunch, took some fudge to the game, and explored all the little grocery had to offer. Parking is plentiful. I highly recommend 10/10. read more

Newtown Farm Market is so quaint and nostalgic. The market is full of fresh food, deli salads, canned goods and even desserts (but get there early). I love this place bc of the nice assortment that you can't find in other grocery stores in the Cincinnati area. Walnut Creek is one of their quality brands. Another thing to do in Newtown is visit this farm market. Even if you aren't going to buy anything, it's still something you might like to look around in. They have lots of local produce. It figures this is the main appeal. They also have homemade custard. I like getting fresh produce right from the farm. It's much better than getting it from a store, where it could be from very far away. The prices here are comparable to getting it at the stores. It has better looking products, which makes it acceptable paying more. The thing is, the prices on many items are really cheap, and you get better taste. In the summer and fall there's usually a lot going on outside the market. The most plentiful item is sweet corn, but there's many other vegetables. It seems the most popular item is the custard. Support this small business, it's awesome! I hadn't been in here in twenty years, stopped in this past Sunday. It's like a mini Jungle Jims. Many unique products that you can't get anywhere else. There's also a deli that makes sandwiches that looked awesome, and frozen custard- which is not easy to find in Ohio. The owner cashed us out and was super nice as well. I used to love this farmers market But the past 3 times I visited, the staff were only covering their mouths with their masks. When I asked the checkout lady to pull her mask up over her nose she went on a tirade about how tired she was of having to wear it and clean her space etc. I'm a nurse and I know full well how Covid has added extra work and inconveniences to everyone's work day. I love the Newtown Farm Market. It is homespun and old school. They stock local produce and also non-local produce but they tell you where everything is from. They have great corn and lots of Amish goods from Fudge to Bacon. They also have a nostalgic selection of old timey (and some new timey) bulk candy. And also lots of homemade /locally made dog treats (and some cat treats too). I love their selection of jams and spreads and honey and all kinds of pickled everything from eggs to watermelon rind to cauliflower as well as good old sauerkraut. The staff is friendly and helpful. I never even knew this was here until the other day, when I was at another local business, and a lady there told me about it! I was happy to stop by as it was not crowded at all. Newtown Farm Market starts out with a small outdoor covered area that houses live plants. I was able to find some roma tomato plants as well as pansies for a reasonable price. Upon entering there is bird seed, candy, and dog food/treat items. The next room is full of fresh produce, some local seasonally, and behind that is the deli. The deli has two sides, one to obtain take home meats and cheeses, the other to order sandwiches or their famous custard. There is a daily deal special each day for sandwiches and you can call your order in ahead of time. I chose the Italian combo sandwich that comes with a pickle and choice of one side. They even toasted the sandwich for me! It was delicious! My side was mac and cheese, and it was just ok. I didnt get a chance to try the custard, as the machine was down for cleaning/servicing, but id like to try in the future. Normally they have an area with tables set up outside, but right now it is take out only. The staff here is family, and so friendly as well as eager to help and stay positive during this difficult time. On the way out I couldn't resist a strawberry rhubarb pie, which arent always easy to find. It was really good! I have fond memories of going to Newtown Farm Market as a child. My grandmother would take me on runs and let me run around trying samples while she purchased fresh produce to create various stews and sides. As someone who is a sucker for nostalgia and supporting local businesses, I stopped by while I was in the neighborhood for brunch on Sunday. The set up is just as I remember. Mostly. When you walk in, there's a beer and wine shop to your left. Obviously child me doesn't remember that, but adult me is happy to know that I can get my wine fix on here. For the most part, I was incredibly disappointed. One thing that never carries over from your childhood memories is the price of everything. Grandma, you were RIPPED OFF. Now I do not mind paying a little extra for local products and higher quality, but this is highway robbery. $8.99 for butter? $7.99 for jelly? I bought local condiments from jungle Jim's for half that. They wanted $1.29 for one pack of microwaveable popcorn. Face it, you're about to put a questionably sourced bag of kernels into your microwave for snacking pleasure. The fact that you've stamped it with an Amish seal of approval does not take that away. You might as well spend $1.29 at Kroger and three of those suckers. The produce was fresh, but these days so are the majority of produce selected for major grocery stores. I like to buy my lettuce at jungle Jim's, where they source from a farm in Wilmington. Even Kroger & Meijer proudly showcase the farms that supply them with fruits & veggies. There isn't a quality difference between newtown's offerings and your typical grocery store. However, there's a large price discrepancy. $4.99 for one Portobello? Outrageous! To top it all off, there was only one register open and a line that snaked into the main room of the market itself. I didn't want to leave without buying anything so I decided to purchase a $6.00 bottle of Caesar dressing, but after seeing the line I put it back and said to hell with it. I could probably make better dressing at home anyway. My wonderful grandma, may she Rest In Peace, gave me the experience of running around this place and being on the receiving end of their ice cream. I will continue to honor her legacy by making her delicious meatloaf & pork tenderloin recipes...and I will do that with ingredients from other places that don't charge a small fortune. read more

Many of the items are shipped in from Walnut Creek Ohio we go to Amish country regularly so I guess this was nothing special. I stopped in here after a morning of landscape painting in the area. I do t get over this way very often and. Really didn't even know it existed. A nice little grocery with very good produce. They have local goods when available and seem to have a little bit of everything. They even had an Elvis impersonator- though he was just shopping so that not a normal thing. For a while "Elvis" was in my way at the heirloom tomatoes. I had an egg salad sandwich from the deli and it was delicious. It seemed homemade and was very affordable. I stopped by recently while passing by, to get some 39 cent sale bananas, and I ended up buying lots of gorgeous potted flower plants! My kids, Mom and I love coming here for lunch at the deli. The prices are amazing and the food is fresh. They have specials each day for lunch, so there is lots to choose from. My youngest loves the mashed potatoes during the winter / fall / spring. In the summer the boys get the custard. Newtown Farm Market is cute, though I'm on the fence between a 3 and 4 stars. I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and go with 4. There's a lot of cool stuff going on here, and I think the warmer months are probably the best time to go. You probably won't be able to find everything you need if you are trying to do a one-stop grocery trip, but this is a good place for deli, produce, and locally baked goods and sauces. It's great that there's local produce, though one time that I went I wasn't impressed by the quality of some of the items. Might have been an off day. This is such a neat store for Newtown! They do have a good amount of fruits and veggies, but not too much variety from the typical. Prices aren't too bad for anything! There is local coffee from Carabello's and also several jams/honey and such from local places, which is really cool! I would like to see more local fruits/vegetables and what not!
