Love this store they have what I need with fair prices. I actually like the fact that they don't have tons of processed foods.

When it comes to apple orchards, you can do the "theme park" orchards or the "actual orchard"…read moreorchards. Jonamac is definitely the theme park version. Although you can buy tickets in advance, it doesn't save you time at the orchard. Unfortunately, you'll have to wait in line with all the people buying tickets with cash. You will save a few bucks buying online, however. The wait to get in is disappointing, but understandable. Just budget that into your timeline. When you enter, you'll pass lots of kid-friendly activities. The orchard itself is very small, and the trees are tiny. When we arrived October 7, most of the trees had been pretty well picked over. There were maybe 10 rows of apples available for picking. If you're looking specifically for apples, there are better options, like the nearby Honey Hill Orchard in Waterman. Jonamac does earn decent marks for the children's activities. There's a corn bin where your kids can play and slide. There are a couple of games inside. There's a trough where you can pump water and send rubber ducks down a chute. There's a slide and a petting zoo and one of those jumping pillows. There's a cider house, but we didn't go in because the line was out the door. Food trucks roll in around noon. The crowds really swell around that time. You can also buy pumpkins We got fresh cider and donuts from the bakery shop at the front. If you have small children, Jonamac is pretty good. If you're looking for bushels and bushels of apples, you'll probably want to go somewhere else with a more robust harvest.

Review for the Bakery - Visit on Sunday, 9/21/25…read more I visit the bakery specifically to purchase baked goods. Unfortunately, I've had consistently negative experiences with one of the staff members--an older woman who works in the bakery area. This was not my first encounter with her, and while I initially gave her the benefit of the doubt, her rude and dismissive attitude has remained the same over multiple visits. Most recently, on Sunday, 9/21, her demeanor was once again unfriendly and unwelcoming. In contrast, the younger staff members are always pleasant, attentive, and helpful, which I greatly appreciate. If you're visiting the bakery, I recommend seeking assistance from the younger team members for a better experience.

Small corner market. Really great subs for 5 dollars and fresh meat. A full on small grocery store…read more The staff was friendly, they have a selection in the back for your choice of sandwiches and a small salad bar. If I was local, this place would have all my needs without having to drive several miles to a Walmart. I recommend this spot for anyone in town.

The store it self is in on a side street with plenty of parking and at first opening on a Saturday is pretty easy to navagate because the crowds have not formed yet. The store itself has a small town feel to it, no big chain store feel and more like a neighborhood place. I was surprised to see the salad/pasta bar set up just after 8am, not a huge one but all the basics. Patty invited me to stop by the store if I was ever in the neighborhood, I was was going to Iowa so I was passing Dixon Il and I'm getting off the Hwy because I brought a cooler with me because no way I'm a few miles away and not getting this sausage that I like so much. Flynnies Diner, a local spot uses Olivers for all their meat and I found it in the breakfast plate that I had which i immediately liked. Since I didn't know what the what I was looking for in the store the meat guy helped me, I explained that I wanted the sausage that Flynnies serves and he took me right to it. It was in a small but nicely thought out good looking meat case, nice red meat by the way. Since Patty was so passionate about me correcting my review and setting the record straight and having confirmed with the restaurant owner where the sausage actually came from, I gladly corrected my review so I asked if she was in today and could I speek to her. I just wanted a couple minutes to introduce my self since she took the time to reach out to me and to meet her after correcting the record, it was full circle for the whole situation. The breakfast sausage is top quality which you can tell with the first bite, it's pretty lean and very tasty. It's a very dense/hearty breakfast sausage that is seasoned perfect and like me when you first taste it you know that this is not any commercial sausage. When I had it at the diner I knew that this was a fresh local product and I was right. Patty O I apologize for the wrong information from my server at Flynnies Diner and I was happy to correct my review with your information and give you all the credit that your store deserves and it was nice meeting you and thank you for the great breakfast sausage that I left with, when ever I'm that way I'm bringing a cooler to take some with me.
