Wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but I gave it a try. I had biscuits and gravy, American fries, and corn beef hash. Pros: + Biscuits and gravy were solid and it wasn't cheap on the gravy , sometimes places get a little cheap on the meat. It was satisfying. + The American Fries were pretty great after just a little salt. Cooked just the way I like it. + For a side of the road diner, this place was very well kept and clean on the inside. I could tell it was important to the staff. + Benny's is deceptive large with ample seating, and can handle larger groups with a back room. Parking lot was pretty big too. + Something about the atmosphere here. The staff and customers here were easily 90% on a first name basis on a Saturday morning. Very relaxed and casual atmosphere. Very old school. Cons: - Speaking of old school, NO credit or debit card use as of the date of this review. They post a sign for this right on the door. It isn't an issue for me personally, but it can be for potential diners in 2024. - The corned beef hash was a miss for me, but I don't know if it was the establishment or if I'm the problem. I've just been used to eating Hormel corned beef hash a specific way for 30 years, and maybe it wasn't what I expected. Regardless, while worth mentioning this does not factor in my review. Bottom Line: This would easily be a frequent stop if I was a local. Small diners like this are a dime a dozen in the United States. They all have very similar menus and ambience, but it is a question of execution that separates them. Typically the credit card thing would bump down to a 4, but I have a lot of respect for this place and atmosphere, so I side with the locals and go with the 5 stars.

This is made with caramel, coconut cream, and mocha. It's about $2 for baked items. They had vegan chocolate chip cookies from a local bakery, along with the usual things like croissants and muffins. Going here might be a challenge. It's busy and there's limited hours. They're closed Sundays and Mondays, only open for breakfast and lunch, and they close earlier Saturdays.

I did have a change in people from 300 to 180, which would mean he would owe me money. In response to that he told me about a month prior to my wedding that the price per plate goes up if that many people decline (this was never in any of the contracts or emails). I let it go as about a month before my wedding, I had bigger fish to fry. Day of my wedding the food tasted great, he told me at the end "they cleared me out! There are no leftovers. I usually make a quarter pound of meat per person but I made half a pound for yours." That was it, I was excited and told him I would send a tip to him post-wedding. Fast forward to the day after my wedding and was informed by family that the last two tables of my wedding got absolutely no meat and just beans and coleslaw left. Mind you we had 3 meats and 5 sides, buffet style. One of my cousins asked the owner where more food was as he began stating that men were piling food high. To which she pointed out there were no serving restrictions or servers serving to stop this from occurring. I was embarrassed and tried emailing to the owner to rectify the situation as 20 people of the 160 who showed didn't get fed. And I paid for 180. The owner has not responded at all.
