The trick to shopping at ANY Aldi is...realistic expectations. I can not do ALL of my shopping at Aldi, but what I do get, is worth going out of the way for. I have never actually been to this Aldi before, I was just in the area. There isn't one near me, so I tend to stop by random ones if I am then going home. One thing I LOVE and constantly check their ads for...the organic grass fed ground beef. They don't always have it on sale, and a lot of times you have to buy a 4lb pack, but it is FANTASTIC. If you don't buy into the grass fed organics, that's fine, leave it for the rest of us. If you find it for $3.99...stock your freezer. Then make meatballs. Or burgers. Something that shows off the meat. I don't eat a lot of red meat at home but this is the only ground beef I buy. Today, I found it in single pound packages. I tend to freeze them in packs of 3/4 pounds, so I am not wasting food. Other than the beef, I love their cheeses. Score one for goat cheese under $2. Baguettes, vegetables, and their packs of microwavable rice which are perfect for meal prepping. Also at Christmas I got my sister a wine advent calendar here, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Go, Aldi. Bring a quarter for a buggy (which you'll get back), and your own reusable bags. I bring my tote, it says totes ma goat..and has a goat on it. Or, pay for grocery bags. read more

We've been shopping at this Beltline location, store #34 in Richardson location for over 6 years weekly and were always praising this store for friendliness and neatness, however, today the store was almost completely empty, yet the cashier rudely asked me to hold my box while the other lady in front of me was putting her things on the belt, even though I put the divider and there was no one behind me. Then she took out the cat food cans out of my box and recklessly threw those in a cart one by one, smashing other items. At this point there was only one lady behind me, so she did it intently. There was also no extra cart available close to her as is the usual case. My elderly mom was with me and started rushing trying to get out the cans back into the box while holding it in the air not to hold the line which made me ask the cashier that she created so much work for me instead of leaving things in the box as all the other cashiers usually do, to which she again rudely answered: it's your job to organize your items, and you don't understand! Afterwards she refused to give me her name and said: I am the manager. Well, the cashier's cheque did have her name on it. If she was the manager in a store that's usually very clean and friendly, and this time there was a big mess on the floor in the produce section, then maybe the store needs a different manager. Also, while checking us out, she was casually talking with another worker instead of asking him to either clean the mess or help bring an extra cart, etc. as she stated there were only 2 workers. I know the manager from before was an excellent cashier and manager and always respectful which reflected on the store quality. read more

Aldi's has long been a family-favorite grocery store for me for its affordability and simplicity. Focused on quality ingredients, low prices, limited brand selection, and palate/simple-style product shelving--Aldi's has long been a go-to for the staples. While not all desired groceries can be found at any one Aldi's, the savings makes it worth the periodic or secondary grocery store visit for items not stocked by Aldi. We always buy most of our groceries from their produce section--bagged spinach, bella mushrooms, cauliflower, strawberries, apples, pineapple, papaya, onions, garlic, sweet and red potatoes, avocados, and tomatoes. They have nice blue corn and flax seed tortillas, tasty pita chips, and a party pack of crackers that we like to stock for last-minute hosting. We also check for new hummuses/dips which can be nice to have on hand. The cheese selection is great--features everyday cheese to fancy ones and still costs nothing much more than $5/block. We also love their staples like plain yogurt, eggs, and milk--all VERY reasonably priced. We also stock up on some canned tomatoes, green chilis, and beans for when we are out of fresh or short on time. Basically, ALDI'S has most everything we need at super reasonable prices PLUS, the fun of some seasonal items that are DELICIOUS so we treat it like a treasure hunt and always toss in the occasional random item like an edamame hummus, fancy jarred cherries (for old fashioneds!), mulled wine, chipotle chicken salad, mushroom noodles, pumpkin spaghetti sauce, pear & Gorgonzola ravioli! Almost every time it turns out to be a VERY rewarding risk throwing those random items into our cart (especially when they are super discounted)! Number one recommendation is that if you see something bizarre that you like and know is seasonal --grab several because it might be months before it's in stock again--or never! Team Aldi over hurrrrr! My mom has been telling me about this place and I finally checked it out and am hooked. If you're an Aldi newby, be sure to keep a quarter handy to unlock a cart, or beg outside their door in hopes someone spots you're a newby and just lets you have their cart. No worries, you'll get your quarter back once you return your cart and click it to another.You'll also need to bring your own reusable bags, as they don't do paper or plastic here. Cross your fingers for a spare cardboard box near the check out. I would have given this spot 5 stars, but it's soooooo busy like all the time, parking lot is packed, and last Sunday the systems were down and they opened later than scheduled which set back my day. Technology. I gotta figure out their down time. I will say, their store is nice and clean and the cashiers are fast. The long lines move quickly. Some of the quality well-priced items I have purchased here are orange juice (not from concentrate), uncured hormone-free lunch meats, hummus, grapes, mandarins, green smoothie juice, apple sauce, granola bars, toilet paper...and I even bought socks! Sidenote: Did you know that Aldi is a brother company of Trader Joe's? No wonder I love it so! I will be back to this one and probably others. The prices are great and the quality is too! Every visit I usually place a mobile order for pickup, and it is always ready on time, delivered to my car with speed and care. Employees always polite and my choices selected for me are always stuff I would pick for myself. Love this ALDI! Only issue which has nothing to do with staff is customers always parking in mobile pickup spots so there are limited spots. read more

Went to Aldi on Monday and was very disappointed. I've been to this Aldi a couple of times before, but never have seen it like this before. I went there to get some fruit for my mom and a few random items for myself. As I walked in I was amazed as always by the assortment of nuts, dried fruit, wine, crackers, and chips that greeted me. And of course their prices!! All of the items were under $5!! Such a great price to be able to make your own trail mix, pick up snacks, and grab a great bottle of wine. As I continued past these great items though, this is when my excitement ended. As I looked through the produce section I was appalled to see rotting and over priced fruit and vegetables on display. When I looked at the peaches they were badly bruised and had white and green rott on them for $2.99 a pound!! The apples, nectarines, and other fruit looked like they had been thrown, stepped on, and then put back on the shelf. The vegetables did not fair much better as they were misshapen and discolored as well. The only thing that looked edible was the mushrooms, so I bought those. The rest of the store looked great and had a huge selection of frozen, boxed, and refrigerated items. I definitely want to come back for those--but the rest of the store they can keep! read more

The clerks are always RUSHING to finish checking people out! I'm sure they "thing" is to be fast, but 80% I shop here the clerks damage my food from rushing. The last time the lady wasted my blueberries all over the place, the time after that I was charged twice for one of my items and today the clerk smashed my bananas putting frozen and heavy items in my cart on top of it. I've giving them TWO stars because I like the items & the prices, but geshhhhhh slow down and this is coming from a fast paced 29 year old. They always making mistakes from going too fast. I LOVE this location! I am constantly finding things at my Aldi that everyone else all over the metroplex and in other states can't find at theirs. The updates they did recently make the store even more appealing. Cashiers are always extremely helpful and friendly. Great selection. It has some items that are core essentials and some items that come and go. All for a great price! I also like the limited selection; it's not overwhelming. I usually shop at Whole Foods (it's closer to where I live), but the deals at Aldi make it worth the trip. it is a typical Aldi. I am from Germany originally and Aldi is huge there. The US version is not as big in their selection but it comes close. It does offer a lot of European flair no name products. And it is relatively cheaper with some products. Others are a bit more pricier for example the pasta is cheaper at Kroger. read more

By far one of the best all Aldi's that I've ever visited. Even there public restroom is clean. All the workers here are very attentive you very kind. This location is in a great area literally 0.1 miles from the Irving mall. It is in a shopping center so there is plenty of parking. I worked at this location 2010 through 2013. Trust me the workers here work very hard to keep this place up and tidy. The busiest day to shop here is Sunday so try shop here at least Monday through Saturday. read more

I started shopping at this Aldi about six months ago and at first I was really impressed by their no-frills business model, but since that time, the joint has really gone downhill. Once upon a time, this was a clean store with immaculate shelving, always fresh produce and a customer-friendly staff. But in the space of just a couple months, the store has went completely ghetto. Shelves aren't stocked properly and items that were once staples aren't available anymore. Produce is no longer fresh and in some instances, you can clearly see mold growing on the fruit (isn't this illegal). Floors are dirty, parents letting their kids run wild inside the store while they paw their grimy hands over the fruits and veggies. And don't even try telling them to control their rugrats because most don't speak English. Prices have gone WAYYY up in the last few months while the shopping experience has completely gone to shit. Sorry, but enough is enough and I'm done with this dump. I may spend a little more by going to Tom Thumb, but I don't care, because the quality of their food is so far above and beyond what Aldi has degenerated into. Add to that I don't have to put up with the bad behavior of illegals and their brood inside the store and the choice is "anything but Aldi." read more

First I have to start off by saying this is my usual Aldi's and I've been here more than four check-ins. I want to give this location more stars however, just like any other Aldi's there are imperfections. They never seem to have enough lanes open at checkout but they balance that by working extremely fast and being extremely polite. I'm noticing at this particular location that they are expanding and offering more variety of products, high quality products and that's why I always come back. The location is also really close to where I live and easy access is huge for me because I have a toddler. I've noticed that they have a lot of baby products including healthy snacks juices and even some baby care. While I'm particular about my baby care I do love the healthy snacks and the fact that they are so reasonably priced. My favorite and last observation is the fact that the produce section is getting bigger and the fresh meat section is improved drastically on the quality of meat that they provide. read more

The first thing we immediately noticed about Aldi is what a weird alternate-universe of food products it is. It's like shopping where Rachel Ray gets all her weird off-brand food items for 30-Minute Meals. Don't get me wrong, they still carry several national brands, but there are some brands that seem just a bit off... Like they're something familiar, but not quite right. I've gotta hand it to them for a clever idea. The interior is very no-nonsense, no frills down to the interior temps. Bare floors, no shelving (just a bunch of goods stacked up in the boxes they were delivered in), and AC is definitely being skimped on. I really like that though, because the focus is on reasonable prices for groceries. It makes you more of a responsible consumer as well. i.e. return your cart to the appropriate receptacle to get your quarter back, rather than just haphazardly leaving it in the parking lot and being more eco-conscious by bringing reusable bags or else pay for Aldi's bags to take your groceries home in. I think Adi's a great place to get your basic grocery items for cheap prices - milk, eggs, produce... You'll probably accomplish about 80% of your shopping list here, but you'll get the basic stock items for really compeitive prices. read more

First time in an Aldi and not terribly impressed, seemed a little more dirty and disorganized than a regular grocery store with a much smaller selection. That being said the things they did have were pretty well priced and the cashier who checked us out was very polite and friendly. Overal,l a good place to swing by to check for a bargain or two but not the place to do a weekly grocery trip. read more

Actually, this place is quite fantastic. When my family was in Missouri we had one in another town with great, low prices. We always hoped that after moving to Texas we would find one close enough to go to easily... And we did! There are a ton of products there, and most of them are pretty good despite their prices. They keep their parking lots clean by having people insert a quarter in the carts, seeing as no one wants to loose any money in this economy. Yes, they charge for their reusable bags, about 10/11 cents. Gasp! Nevertheless, the bags are of really good quality and last for quite awhile; they are thick and can carry quite a few items and weight. You bag your own items and you you turn in your cart to get your money back. The prices are cheap and the quality of the food items are usually pretty good. All in all five stars... as long as you are cool with bagging your own items. read more
