I've visited this Aldi a number of times when visiting home and I've always had good experiences. This Aldi is in a shopping center off of a major road, complete with a number of parking spaces for all of their customers. Any time that I've visited, I feel as though getting a spot has been a breeze which is always a win on a grocery shopping trip. This store is laid out just like all of the others and stick to the well-known Aldi brand and process, (so don't forget your quarter and bag(s)!) It was incredibly clean when I walked in and I always appreciate that! Who wants to get groceries from a dirty store? Not a problem here. Every aisle was neatly organized, making it easy to find what I was looking for. I also appreciate the special seasonal items. This visit landed me the most beautiful orchid for my mom that only cost me $10. The lines at Aldi stores can get backed up sometimes because they usually only keep 50% of the registers open, which isn't fun. I have even ordered curbside pickup using another app and it can be a bit slow due to the small staff. If you try to call a location for any reason, it may be difficult to get a live person on the phone. So there are some kinks in the system, but all in all, Aldi is definitely a favorite of mine and this location is a great one to check out if you're in the area. read more

Love to stop at this Aldi location when I am in the area. There's plenty of parking since this store is located in the Lakes Mall shopping center, there's only about 15-20 stores and the parking lot is HUGE... Aldi has a large selection of Organic items at very affordable prices. I love their snacks and their bread. If I were to buy similar organic items at Whole Foods or Trader Joe's I would easily being paying double the price. I really wish I could give half stars because this really would be 3.5 stars for me. This location is convenient off of major streets and with plenty of parking for sure! There were unfortunately no carts ready to be used and the store didn't seem busy, definitely not full of the amount of missing carts. When browsing throughout the store, I noticed they did carry most of the items I needed and usually buy. They actually had a few products that are typically sold out or sell quickly at other locations. There were still some items that I could not get and I searched for the tag of the item and it did not exist. The checkout was really long, but that's pretty typical. The store wasn't the cleanest but it also wasn't dirty. Would definitely go back if I'm conveniently in the area. read more

Aldi's is the estranged brother of Trader Joe's. The abbreviated history is that Aldi's and Trader Joe's were owned by German brother's who fell out over whether or not to sell cigarettes. One headed the chain that became Aldi's and the other chain became Trader Joe's. While Trader Joe's has great prices, Aldi will beat them and just about everyone else's prices every time. You can still signs of that German heritage all over Aldi's like in their German line of products called Deutsche Kuche, which offers offers beer, chocolate, roasted coffee, and uncured Bavarian bratwurst. If you want to save money on groceries Aldi's is a great way to do it. In order to bring you those low prices Aldi's has instituted some cost cutting measures. If you want a cart you will need to bring a quarter and to get your money back you need to return your cart from the parking lot back to the store saving employees from having to collect the carts. You will also have to bring your own bags or pay for theirs. Lines will most likely be long because they keep their staff to a bare bones minimum. Best of all is the check out. To get people through the line more quickly they will literally throw your groceries into the cart they keep chained at the check out. You will frantically try to grab your items out but will never be fast enough. I used to just carry groceries around the store in bags I brought but getting my own cart has made the checkout process a lot smoother so now I always keep a quarter hanging in an Aldi's keychain made for that purpose attached to my purse. I shop at Aldi's at least once a week. This store was near where I was running some errands in Lauderdale. For the most part all Aldi's are created equal but this one not good. It started off when the cart ate my quarter and didn't release. I didn't have another quarter so I had to juggle my purchases the entire time. Some of the freezer cases in this store were broken and they were out of my green tea although I did find the return of my favorite caramelized onion and balsamic vinegar pita chips. The worst part of my experience here was during check out when the rude cashier accused me of taking things out of my cart and putting them on the side which I absolutely did not do. Aldi's motto is "here today gone tomorrow". The inventory is always changing which makes it fun to find new products but it also means your favorites may be gone by the time you come back. That is why I had to stock up on my pita chips. Pumpkin spice everything will be dropping soon. Aldi's is a big part of making my grocery budget stretch farther. I have had a great experience at most of the Aldi's stores I have been to and I will be sticking to those locations in the future. read more

People are really sleeping on Aldi stores! They have several of their own brands of food that are very healthy. For example, their Never Any brand guarantees that their animals are raised antibiotic and hormone free and are fed an all-vegetarian diet. The Never Any mild Italian style chicken sausage is really delicious! Their Simply Nature organic brand is a fraction of the cost of Publix, Whole Foods or Fresh Market's organic produce! I am in love with the Little Salad Bar sweet kale chopped salad kit! The lactose free brand is$2-$3 cheaper then at the big chain grocery stores. They often have special buys including children's items, household items and items for your home for low prices. Aldi is a no frills store with the basics. The quality of the produce and appearance of the Aldi stores used to vary depending on the location. The produce used to be a hit or miss at this location but they are greatly improving the selection. This particular store used to be worn down but they have made significant improvements to the quality of the goods and the aesthetics. The prices are affordable and the staff is friendly. Very nice This is probably my second favorite Aldi location. This location is larger than my favorite location, however much further. It seems to offer more items than my local Aldi location because it is larger and has that extra shelf space. This location was a lot busier than the other location but luckily enough the lines were moving pretty fast. The one worker that I had an encounter with was really nice and polite. All cashiers seem to be in a hurry no matter the location, so not much talk outside of "hello" and "thank you". Which is fine. Other than I do not recall seeing anyone else walking around. The food looked just as good as my local location. My sweet kale chopped salad mix looked fresh and not like it had been sitting for days. The envy apples that I love were bright, shiny and red. The green grapes looked just as delicious although a little on the small side. The other location has the big grapes. This time around I purchased some honey roasted turkey lunch meat and cheese to give my son a different option for lunch. I made myself a sandwich once I got home and it was pretty tasty! In either location, I have not ventured into their household and toy items. I always see a few people buying things while I am in there and my mother has brought my son some toys on various occasions. Those are just items that I do not think to look for while in Aldi. I would certainly come back to this location, if I am in the area. read more

We have been to Aldi before and were not impressed. This Aldi however, is larger, brighter with many more offerings than we had seen before. As we walked around the store after a wonderful dinner, we actually saw many food items that looked tempting. In fact with such great prices, we actually wound purchasing some sharp cheddar slices, fresh mushrooms, a chocolate bar (75% dark cocoa), tangerine orange water flavoring, and a bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. The Hot pepper strawberry and hot pepper chocolate ice creams that Ariel pointed out were intriguing, but maybe for another trip back for those items. The meats and frozen food items were well presented and looked appealing but after such a wonderful bbq dinner, our selections tonight were impulse items that we just couldn't live without. read more

This is a great place to get groceries on the cheap. Aldi's is a no frills grocery store. You have to bring a quarter to use their grocery cart so be ready for that. You have to bring your own bag or pay for one of theirs or better get, get creative and steal a box to use. It's all good everyone does. You'll find a lot of generic adjacent brands but you'll find name brand items too. I buy my Lifeway Kefir their for 2 bucks where Whole Foods sells it for over $4. They only take debit or EBT. I made the mistake of only having a credit card once and had to leave and come back. Don't make that mistake. It's a place where you can wear sweats with no underwear and still not feel out of place. I love it here and plus I can essentially get everything I need here at a reasonable price. I'm sold. read more

After reading the comments in Yelp Talk about Aldi Food Market, I dropped by their new Lauderdale Lake Discount Grocery Store that opened in November 2010. My first impressions of Aldi Food Market started in the parking lot with the quarter or .25 cents I needed to use a shopping cart (you get it back when you return the cart). Next, the isles are filled products from nuts, crackers, fresh meats, frozen foods which I later read was about 1,400 products that are the most frequently purchased grocery and household items. They focus on getting the best price from their suppliers and many of the brands are private labels. In general, the prices looked significantly lower than any of the South Florida Grocery Stores and Superstores. They have a large selection of frozen foods but the quality is not as high as Specialty Grocery Store Trader Joes (also owned by an Aldi Family Member Trust). Finally, checking out at this No Frills Discount Grocery Store is similar to Costco except 1) they don't bag your groceries, they just throw them in the cart 2) you can bag your own groceries but you need to purchase your bags 10cents for plastic, 6 cents for paper. Additionally, you need to estimate how many bags you will need. There was plenty of parking in front and with the .25 quarter shopping cart deposit, you don't see many unreturned carts in the lot. In fact BTW, Aldi is short for "Albrecht Discount named for German Brothers Karl and Theo Albrecht). Aldi is a German or European company with 1, 000 stores in the United States. In summary, Aldi is a "Discount' Grocery Store. The quality of some but not all products will not be for everyone, but you will definitely notice a significant price difference between other non-discount stores. read more

I know Aldi stores from Europe and it is somehow funny to see how people react here when they do their first shopping at Aldi. Yes, you need a quarter to get your shopping cart! Yes, you need to pay extra if you want shopping bags! And no, you cant pay with credit card (unless you have a PIN number)! Why all that? Because they dont spend on extra staff who needs to run over the lot just to get the carts as other grocery stores. Because they dont waste money with wrapping everything in plastic bags - which btw are really bad for the environment and every grocery store should charge for that. And because merchants are charging really heavy credit card fees and this has to be paid via higher prices by the consumer! And this is why their prices are really low! And they limit themselfes on most important products that you need every day. If I would go there again? ALWAYS! read more

One of four we found in Florida of a chain of bargain food mini markets. Lots of Aldi stores in England and Germany. Quality is topmost and prices near the lowest available. Best prices for potato chips. A European style vegetable/meat/frozen food/beer-wine/snacks/microwaveable/convenience foods. Ideal fare for the traveler/vacationer with an apartment with kitchen. When we toured Germany, Aldi was a favorite stop for carry-with food and snacks. So I suspect the store format will work well for coastal, vacation-oriented Florida. Regrettably, I could not find any other store locations on the Internet. but we found three others during our wandering. Give the management in Pembroke Fla a chance to build out their network in select near the beach locations and they seem bound to succeed. read more

Literally the most disgusting Aldi I've ever been in. The floors were gross and sticky. The shelves were poorly organized. I saw milk and cheeses that were out of date and the associate was not pleasant at all. This is upsetting because I love shopping at Aldi. I'll never step foot in this one again! read more

Love it! I love that you have to bring your own bags or buy them (or scrounge for boxes or throw things willy nilly into your vehicle). I love that you have to pay a quarter for that shopping cart because that means that you will always be able to find a shopping cart and the chances of your car getting hit by a stray buggy is slim. Cashiers are all over the place...you have some awesome ones, some awful ones, and some just absolutely fine ones. Prices are really good on most things but overpriced on a few. Be on the lookout for things that are "as supplies last" because once it is gone you are out of luck!! If you like something stock up! We came across some Dr. Praeger (look alike) Spinach Bites and Broccoli Bites that are almost as good as the real thing. Dr. Praeger's are certified Gluten free and these aren't...but my little isn't allergic to wheat so we bought them and she cannot tell the difference...even the shapes are the same. Great price on quinoa. The gluten free pasta isn't awful (trust me...this is a good thing). I am about to taste test the Pumpkin Spice Cider but I bypassed the Pumpkin Spice Jiffy peanut butter!! gah!! We will be back! read more

*UPDATE!* Sadly, Aldi seems to be clearing out their facial care & makeup lines...I purchased a few items at the holidays as gifts at just .99 each. The memory foam "contour" pillow I purchased over a year ago is awesome...and I saw them in the store again. If you're in the market and see theirs...try it out, at $14.99, it's about half as much as they typically run! I used to purchase soy milk at Aldi, but they picked up Almond milk, which I prefer. I like the "original" flavor which is great in coffee ;-) Oh, and I just clicked the buttons below and realized it asks if they take credit cards. Aldi does not accept them, but does take debit cards. I like ALDI for the affordability but it doesn't make any sense for me to spend my money here either especially when I take my time to pick and choose items and when I get to the register the cashiers don't take any precaution at all and all super careless and don't give any damn about the way the pit your things in the cart. I understand the need to hurry and everything but it defeats the purpose when they trash your things and the store loses money because then I have to complain to the manager and have items replaced such as yogurt containers which have been punctured , smashed eggs crushed bread, fruit containers opening. Low prices, good quality. The only thing is that this aldi is not as stocked as the other ones. They have a freezer with ham since the holidays. I also wished they would start selling other type of herbs, but for your basic groceries it's not a bad place. read more

Have you tried the wine there? Winking Owl? I think it's $2.67 a bottle (or something like that) and we tried it more out of curiosity a year ago - and have been back many times, buying a case at a time (12 bottles). It is EXCELLENT for the price - red, white, rose - you really should try it. It's perfect wine for every day use, we cook with it too. Also, the CHOCOLATE is excellent - prices are great, the 25c for the carts is annoying I agree but guess what - you don't see carts littered all over the parking lot, and I appreciate it. I always keep a few canvas shopping bags in my car, and if you find you like Aldi, then you'll do the same so you don't have to shell out for shopping bags. Cream cheese there is also EXCELLENT value - it's worth the 12 mile trip for me to get wine and chocolate! read more

I must say I am very disappointed about the check-out experience....three times in a row at this store I was cheated at the register....first I purchased a pizza which was 2 dollars off and it came out full price, then ice-cream on sale but also at full price and yesterday I purchased red grapes with 99 cents a pound and the cashier marked it as green grapes with 1.99....so double....I understand once to be a mistake, but 3 times......the only reason I gave 2 stars is that the prices are really great as well as the quality of the products....if only the cashiers would be more honest...... read more
