Aldi's is a decent shopping store if you know what you are looking for. As others mentioned, their produce is "okay," and honestly, you will get better quality and prices on most produce at Costco's, but Aldi's is excellent for soft cheeses (for sandwiches, burgers, etc..) and hard cheese (Asiago, Gouda, Parmesan, Cheddar), crackers, organic soups and pastas, sauces, and those sort of things. The staff at this location are always really friendly, and I appreciate that. As others have mentioned, keep in mind that off-brand items are less expensive, but name-brand items will cost more here than in your regular grocery store. A good example is I like Chobani Key Lime Greek Yogurt, and a 4-pack is usually around $5, and they have an Aldi's version, which tastes almost the same and costs half the price. Remember, you do need to pay a quarter to use a cart and bring your own bags, but I just put my stuff in the empty cardboard boxes they have and recycle them when I get home. Why is this store even open?!?! ALL the refrigerated and frozen sections are completely EMPTY! Oh, but they'll have stuff in 20 DAYS?!?! This place needs to just shut down forever. It makes me hate ALDI that I wasted my time driving here only to walk out empty handed. Oh, and, as usual, only one register is open. read more

I can definitely see why Aldi has sworn followers and a whole fan club. There is no denying that many of its off-brand items are less expensive and are in the same neighborhood in taste and quality as their name brand sisters and brothers. This location is okay. Don't expect beauty, newness, or a feeling of warmth. You just need to be clear on the fact that you are shopping and getting the goods for less. That's it. No frills. The parking lot is big and you do need a quarter to get a cart. The employees are nice, but they aren't giving out any frills either. What I appreciate in Aldi is Winking Owl wine, eggs (in cardboard containers), almond milk, spices, condiments, staples (flour, sugar etc.) cheeses of all kind, snacks, and vegetables and fruit. With that being said, snacks are good, but not on the level of the name brands in terms of taste. However, you get so much more for less money, so I will still buy and devour with gusto. Also, vegetables and fruit are definitely less pricey than Kroger and Publix, but I've felt that they go bad quicker than they should. I've purchased items that I didn't like there like bacon, and frozen popsicles. I don't know how these items can be wrong, but they were for me. I got some canned corn that looked wrong too. I bought some frozen strawberries that upset me. I bought some meat there once, and for reasons I don't remember, I've never bought meat there again. I have become obsessed with Aldi's and have to say that this supermarket chain has put the fun back into food shopping for me. Whether you're looking for choice cut beef to whip up a little skirt steak dinner on the grill, on the hunt for fresh veggies or pastry to bring to a little get together or even garden soil and seeds to pretty up your pad, Aldi's delivers. When I'm too busy to run out I will take advantage of Aldi's home delivery through Instacart and everything is perfectly delivered to my door. A NEW FAMILY MEMBER! Everyone should know by now that Aldi is like my best friend. We spend a lot of time just hanging out and talking about food except she provides the food and I do all of the cooking. I am such a sucker when I see these stores because I don't usually have a specific plan to go grocery shopping until I see one, then suddenly I need things. The thing you need to know about Aldi is that the stores vary in design, lay-out and content. Never assume that one store is going to be exactly like your home store. My store is good but this one is better because it seems more open and has different (chilled), storage areas for their produce. They also have a different selection of items such as their new black cherry and plum juice, varied gluten free corn and tortilla chips, gourmet cheeses including smoked gouda and aged white cheddar and even a new selection of housekeeping items. Aldi's version of Laughing Cow cheese now comes in a light version and today was the first time I had actually seen it. Aldi is always increasing their organic products and today I noticed organic whole milk for the first time. Their stock is always changing so when you have an opportunity to try other locations, you should. This store appeared to be relatively new and although the foot traffic actually picked up after we entered, we were able to get out in a timely manner due to the well trained cashier. I have heard many of my friends rave about Aldi and have been meaning to check out the one that opened near me. This Aldi is located across from the Walmart on Lawrenceville Hwy and sits on the intersection of Pleasant HIll Rd and Lawrenceville Hwy. You can enter and leave through either street which was nice since both roads get really busy. After parking, I went to get a cart. You will need a quarter (not 2 dimes and a nickle.. but an actual quarter) to get a cart. When I initially stepped in, I was not very impressed. It is a small store and not very pleasing to the eye. However, I found an array of gluten free items throughout the store. There was also a good variety of grass fed beef. I had gone to pick up meat to grill for the 4th of July and was very pleased with the selection at hand. The meat looked fresh and many were organic and grass fed. They also had pre-seasoned fresh chicken breast for you to throw on the grill. I picked up a few other snacks. My husband just ate the kettle chips and said they were as delicious as any name brand kettle chips. Check out was fast and speedy. The cashier was friendly and scanned everything really fast that I was really impressed with her speed. There are no plastic bags so bring your own bag. After you pay, there is a long table for you to bag your own items. I actually enjoyed the hassle free shopping at this Aldi. I will be back! read more
