I am writing to report a concerning incident that occurred at the Aldi location on Middlebelt Road near I-96 in Livonia earlier today. After completing my purchases through a cashier (not the self-checkout), I returned to my car in the parking lot. Shortly afterward, the store manager approached my vehicle and took a photograph of both me and my license plate without explanation or consent. This action was unexpected and made me feel uncomfortable and singled out. I then went back into the store to ask for an explanation. The manager informed me that I had been mistaken for someone else and that I was "the wrong person." While I understand that errors can happen, the way this situation was handled--particularly photographing me in the parking lot--was inappropriate and distressing. I would like clarification on Aldi's policies regarding photographing customers, as well as reassurance that this type of incident will be addressed to prevent it from happening to others. read more

I've tried the milk chocolate covered toffee mini pretzels which were quite solid and pretty good, but they could have a little more of the toffee flavor and use a little salt to balance out the sweetness. Night and day compared to the Telegraph Location. Ample parking and roomy airy shopping aisles. It's also nice to have multiple registers operating. Easy to miss if you enter the Middlebelt Rd. so look for the sign. Adjacent to Chipotle and across from Costco. Skip the frozen buffalo wings as they are a salt bomb. read more

The Manager (male days ) is rude and has poor people skills!!! The bottle return is constantly broke. There should be security at this location! The prices are excellent and the wine selection is unbeatable for the prices. The only major drawback is the lack of checkout staffing. Aldi advertises that they keep prices low and one means of doing this is not hiring a bunch of staff. This can be a real downer when the line is super long. But if you hit the timing just right, you can be in and out. Don't forget to go down the Aisle of Shame as it's called by Aldi loyalists! You can find all types of cool finds down there. read more

Love their selection of reasonable priced AND good quality products-especially staples (peanut butter, coffee, canned tomato products, crackers.... The store is always clean, the employees friendly. It's a quick in and out experience. My husband and I especially love their pie products in the bakery section-cooked to perfection and excellent taste! read more

Brand new Aldi just opened in Livonia. It is directly across I-96 on Schoolcraft across from Costco on the northeast corner. There is a whole lot of traffic in this area of Middle Belt and I-96. Be careful exiting the store during busy traffic and shopping times. The store is very clean and well stocked. It is what you would expect a brand new Aldi location to look like. The aisles are quite wide. The parking lot is quite expansive with room for a whole lot of cars. Visiting after work I was a little surprised there were not more shoppers inside. I would expect this location to become quite busy as it becomes known it is open. This is a shopping hub with all the stores and restaurants. If you've never shopped at an Aldi previously, bring a quarter to use a shopping cart. You get a quarter back when you return the cart. Also make sure you bring some reusable bags for your purchases. They do support Michigan farmers and this is a huge positive. read more

I have been shopping at this Aldi a lot for the past two years. Well I came in to grab a few things near the closing time (came in around 5 minutes before) and I was promptly yelled at to turn around and leave the store. Really poor experience, I think it's time I got that Costco membership and moved on from Aldi. read more

The newest Aldi to the area!! Bright, clean, well lit! This location is beautiful and fully stocked 90% of the time! Even during the business times of the day I have not seen them run out of much. They are handling the pandemic very well also. Every single worker is wearing a mask and wiping down surfaces all the time. They are so friendly and nice. Speedy checkout they even ask if you found everything you are looking for. Amazing! read more

I remember the hype last year when it was announced that Aldi would open at this location. I'm glad to see once-vacant property being redeveloped. Since it's close to home, and I drive by every day, it wouldn't hurt to stop in. A coupon for $5 off helped too. It's basically the same as any other Aldi location but newer and nicer. Everything still has that "new car smell"...or, "new store smell"? I like how they have a good balance of cheap staples and higher-end "gourmet" foods. Milk was like $2 for a gallon and $1.30 for half gallon. Mac & cheese for 33¢ and 43¢/lb. for bananas. There's also a large selection of seafood and organic meat. My only complaint is that they are open 9am-8pm, which is true for most, if not all, Aldi franchises. As someone who tends to shop either early morning or late at night, I would love it if they were open earlier and/or later. read more

I feel compelled to write a review on this location specifically as my family and I go out of the way to come here. We go to Costco across the street then hit up Aldi and get pretty much everything we need from both the stores. This store is so much bigger then most of the others, with Costco sized carts as well. The produce is better then many of the other locations too. My family and I will continue to shop here and save money! read more

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I went to the store at 8:45am to purchase blueberries. I needed a large quantity of blueberries and had already been to 3 different stores to try and purchase blueberries, but all them were sold out. I was very relieved that Aldi had blueberries in stock. As I was waiting in line, the cashier asked me "How many is that?" I responded that I had 3 cases and that I was going to grab 3 more. She then said "ok I need to know how many are in the case" I didn't realize that she was asking me to count for her. So when she asked again I said I didn't know. She began counting as I went to get the rest of the blueberries I needed. When I got back to the register, she had called a manager over. I put the additional cases of blueberries on the belt and the manager turned to me and without saying hello, introducing himself or asking me any questions said "Just so you know you need to place an order in advance" I said "Oh, ok, I never shop here so I wasn't aware" he then informed me that he would "let me purchase them this time, but next time I need to let them know ahead of time" While it's not unreasonable to ask for advance notice, I was taken aback by him giving me permission to be a customer. I tried to smooth things over a bit because clearly he and his cashier were not pleased about having me spend $186.48 on blueberries and tried to thank him. I said "I went to 3 other stores before I came here, so..." before I could finish my sentence and say so I really appreciate you guys helping me, the manager interrupted me and said "none of that is my problem. We won't let you buy this many again". No problem. I definitely won't be back again. Rude. read more
