I always considered Westborn a very expensive market because I live closer to the Westborn in downtown Plymouth. The neighborhood makes a difference in prices! This was my first time visiting Westborn Market in Livonia. The Livonia location has much better deals that I would never imagine finding at the Westborn in upscale Plymouth. There were good sales on cherries ($1.99/lb) and eggs (Dutch farm extra large eggs for $1.69/dozen). The vegetables look fresh and are reasonably priced. Some of the baked goods made at Westborn are still higher in price and on par with the location in Plymouth, but it's good to see some deals. This Westborn is also much larger than the one in Plymouth with lots of parking. I recommend coming to the Westborn when in Livonia! read more

Meat, veggies and bread is amazing. Prices are higher than a normal grocery store. What brings down their overall rating is most of their employees are not helpful or pleasant. Seems to be a big turnover. read more

Westborn is a pretty good gourmet market. I honestly like the prepared food at other local gourmet markets better. I expect delicious food when I'm paying a premium for it. The prepared foods, i.e. meatballs, mashed potatoes, etc. are just ok. The salad fixings are ok, but more of a variety would be fantastic. It would be great if the dressings were labeled. The soup is what keeps me coming back, although some days the cards/labels certainly don't match the soup in the cauldron. (Is it called a cauldron? --- I like witchy terms.) Anyway, I haven't had a soup that I didn't like. But I caution the market employees to be careful, you could expose someone to foods that may cause them allergies or sickness. The baked goods look phenomenal. I have to talk myself into looking away each time I walk by. I would lose my mind over there! The specialty food items are great. I always find new things to nosh on. read more

Another disappointing stop. I was looking for larger rolls to use as sloppy Joe's buns, none. No sushi, no single portion quiche or their wonderful cheese rolls either. I did find their tomato garden vegetable soup that doesn't have corn in it. ( It is a pain in the ass to have to pick it out of other places veggie soup. I have to do that for a medical problem that could put me in the hospital.) After finally shopping at their competition in Oakland and Macomb counties, I think I will do my good food stock up there. Much bigger selections. I will check back for that wonder veggie soup time to time since this is the only location I have found it. It is close to one of my schools so that is why I stopped in the first place. read more

This is my go to for local goods, fresh produce, meats and great quality seafood. The Livonia location has by far the biggest garden and floral department, who needs a florist when there's a Westborn nearby. Picked up some holiday door swags, some cold bottled Bundaberg ginger beer for the car ride, some fresh made guacamole and pico de Gallo. The baked goods here are yummy. Truth be told I have never had anything bad here yet. Staff in the floral and cashier area were friendly. read more

As someone who has to be gluten free. I am very disappointed in the very LAME gluten free section , which Is very little to none.And if you ask me way OVERPRICED for what they offer Very disappointed In this company. And I firmly believe I am taking my business back to fresh thyme market, And the Novi, Michigan Walmart who has a better Gluten free section then Westborn Market does. I for one am now BOYCOTTING this OVERPRICED Company. read more

This Livonia neighborhood market is my go to for superior quality meats and produce. Their bakery has saved me more than once when I had unexpected guests. The store size is perfect ; easy to navigate when I was in a walking cast. Headed there now for some Calders' egg nog! Merry Christmas Y'all read more

Well....Well... Well... Look what we have here. I'm cheating on my other fruit market with WM but if they can't provide then i had to over on. Unfortunately, i had to move on to this expensive place. OMG - can i just have a low priced fruit market in the winter season?! I was really craving some strawberries and grapes; the chain stores fruit seem to look nasty and they were already changing color. So i guess if you want the best looking fruit i'll just have to pay a little more. This would be a 5 stars - if they weren't so darn expensive. Not an everyday shopping market for me but some days you just need to indulge. read more

Westborn Market has been in business since 1963! Started as a small market, worked smart and kept on growing. Some people would say it's a gourmet market and prices are a little bit higher there than other locations. I would agree with about 35% of that but no more. Plus I've got fresh vegetables and all the other things you would expect from a nice little market. If nothing else you owe yourself a trip there to to see what it's all about, and then make your own decision. Don't miss it this one's a keeper. read more

I ordered my Thanksgiving pies from here because they sold Achatz pies. I am very familiar with the Achatz company and many years ago I worked for the Anusbigian family. I specifically ordered the size of pie and type I wanted. Two large, one 4 berry, one Dutch apple. Laura who took my order confirmed they carried that size and Dutch apple. What I got was 8 inch 4 berry, and a 8 inch plain apple pie. The manager of the bakery was nice and gave me a pie. I was upset not to get Dutch apple. Please train you staff on what you carry. Being told "yes we carry that", and come in and order is not close to what I asked for is crappy. Your buyer can get the larger pies if they order them, and get the actual pie your customers order. Cheese department wasn't ready for the holiday. There was only two types of brie. Huge seller at the holidays. Toss some of the figs pread or sour cherry on some brie and crackers is great, but only having 1 jar of each on display.....not pushing sales. read more

Great stuff. Prices can widely vary though. Quality is always there regardless. Fresh produce, nice deli and very good service. Sarang is right about the cheese fridge. Samples! Oh how I do love samples just like Katie. You can definitely sample things here. Michigan made is prominent which matters to me. Local is fresher and I am all for helping the economy of the area to boot. The salad bar is beautiful. Baked items are tasty. Meat section is wonderful. Spendy at times but again, worth it. They do run specials, make sure to take advantage. We swing by here on weekends and I find they have better deals and better stock during the week than during that time. Very small drawback though. While I mostly shop at the Dearborn location when I go to Westborn, I have to say I think I prefer this location. It's just bigger and easier to move in. I love the Dearborn location but it feels so compact. This location is far more comfortable roll around in. They have the same fabulous selection of locally made products, fresh produce, delicious baked goods, beautiful wine and beer, and more but you don't have to hug the corners just to get around in there. Prices are a little higher than your standard big name grocery store but you get what you pay for. The quality is fantastic. Like the Dearborn store they also have a fantastic flower section, including A LOT for outdoor spaces. I plan on heading there soon to get some baskets for my new back deck. I also came recently to get some flowers for my grandma's birthday and the fal behind the counter went above and beyond picking out some fresher buds to replace on the bouquet I bought. She then spruced it back up and made it look a zillion times better. Grandma really loved them! I don't shop here often but whenever I do it's always a pleasure. read more

Westborn Market has some very good deli items and a nice variety. We ordered the Thanksgiving prepared dinner and the Turkey was awful, over cooked, dry and tasteless. The green bean casserole was terrible , not cooked at all and a bad taste. The stuffing & potatoes were ok. We expected a much better quality meal and very disappointed. I really enjoy shopping at West Born Market in Livonia. It's always clean, the produce is so abundant & fresh. The staff is helpful & courteous. I shopped there today & was pleasantly surprised by the new & various option for vegans & vegetarians. Very cool! My cart overflowed! Lol read more

I always get my meat here!Yesterday I went in and it happened to be on sale. I asked for 1 lb of ground sirloin in a bag and when he gave it to me, it was ground round which was not on sale. I said could I please get a pound of ground sirloin not ground round and he said oh I'm sorry my head is all over the place today I said, no problem. I look over and saw that the pierogis, the Dearborn brand were on sale two for $8.00 they are regularly priced $4.99 a piece I grabbed one. Went to check out and noticed that the pierogis rang up $4.99, I told the young lady behind the register that they were two for $8.00 She asks another young lady standing by,could she go and check the price on the pierogies? She continued to check me out and said, could I step aside while she waits on the other customers I said fine no problem. the young lady comes back and shows me a picture on her phone and puts her finger on her phone and shows me where it says they are marked for $4.99.(I can see but thank you very much for pointing that out) so I said there is a sign that says 2 for 8.00 so I proceeded to walk back to the deli area with this young lady And we look at the pierogies and she stands there and then I show her the sign right above the pierogies that say two for$8.00 dollars and she says well the sale must've ended, she doesn't take the sign down. She doesn't say I'm sorry I was wrong, NOTHING, back to the register where I get my $.99 back that I was overcharged with a snarky Have a good day , a simple I'm sorry I was wrong would have went a long way. Great market. I like that they have many items that you will not find at the larger chain grocery stores. The salad and soup bar is nice also. Although, it's on the pricey side, but most items are at this market. Also, try the salted butter that's made in store. It's great on toast, veggies, etc. read more

Love this store. always a great variety of fresh and prepared foods. The meats are always fresh and competitively priced. Bakery has a good selection of pies and cakes. Some made in-house and some not. Always easy to move around the store and never had a problem waiting to check out. read more

I shop here on a somewhat regular basis. I usually buy meats, vegetables and other gourmet items. The prices are a little high, but the quality is good and I never have a long wait. The wine selection at this store is poor and recently prices have skyrocketed on the wine. Most employees are nice, except one of the women that works the meat counter can be very crabby. She is a white women about 60. Her hair has a long braided ponytail. She has been here quite awhile, maybe too long? She can be short and a bit rude to customers. I'm sure other shoppers notice. Good selections, fresh produce, good quality meats. I don't shop here often due to rising prices (everywhere) but when I go it's usually for something specific and I'm pleased. If the economy ever gets I will be happy to shop here more often read more

Love Westborn! They always have a great selection of items and it's always clean. I can't remember ever having any kind of issue here or at any of the other locations (I go to the downtown Plymouth one occasionally). Staff has always been speedy and kind. Westborn market did a fabulous job on the funeral arrangement for my dad's funeral. I can't say enough about the friendly service and great suggestions the floral department gave me. We are out of town and can't travel due to the covid19 pandemic. It was such a relief to be able to call and have Westborn take care of everything. My mom has a green thumb so I asked about live plants. They suggested this living basket full of plants snd flowers she will be able to cherish after the funeral. read more

First, I'd like to say, I am my mother's daughter. I find myself stopping at several grocery/fruit & veggie markets in one day, or within the week. I love fruit & veggie markets. I have no idea why. Really, I don't. Out of all of the markets I've visited, I am always very pleased with this Westborn Market. The produce is always well stocked and look great. They don't have a huge variety, but good basics, which is all I need. The prices aren't too bad either. One of my biggest complaints about grocery stores is that their bananas and tomatoes almost always suck. I've never had that issue here. I love their hot house tomatoes and green bananas! They have a pretty good deli counter, although I don't buy much very often. The salad bar is okay. I've seen better, but I am also really picky. They also sell McClure's pickles for $2 less than Plum Market. These are some really, really yummy pickles. Staff is always friendly and eager to help. read more

We stumbled upon this market whilst visiting my sister in Michigan. What a neighborhood gem! On impulse I purchased a bouquet of freesia's because it was an unbelievable value. They have a lovely gift shop inside the market where we found some cute things. The market itself has lots of natural and organic selections which is what I always look for. The meat department is well stocked with a good variety of the usual cuts including seafood. The staff is friendly and helpful. The market was clean, neat and organized. We visited in May. They had a huge selection of flowers; annuals, perennials, baskets, and pots. They were displayed out front and were beautiful. read more

I still REALLLY like Westborn, despite the fact that I don't shop here as often, however, a HUGE gripe has caused me to drop my review to 4-stars. I typically run here on my lunch break for the salad bar and to pick up a few things. I was in yesterday doing just that and I remembered receiving an email from them regarding ALL of their Craft and Michigan beers being on sale for $8 / 6 pack (plus deposit). Now, if you drink (good) beer like we do at home, you know this is a killer deal! So, with not a ton of time to waste I grabbed a Cabin Fever sixer. I saw that there were many signs throughout the store advertising the same $8 for 6 deal on ANY craft or Michigan brew so I was confident it was still valid. Until they rung me up. I am not an EL-Cheapo, but I do pay attention to sales and prices. So I immediately questioned the cashier about the $9.99 price, to which she told me its only on certain beers. Now, I still bought the beer, (partially because I was in a hurry to get back to the office) but this was super annoying. There was really no fine print on anything I read about it being only CERTAIN kinds. Just an annoying way to get people into the store on a false pretense. read more

This has now become our go-to grocery store in the area. I absolutely love the variety, selection, and freshness of all the produce and meats that the store has to offer. I can go into this store and always find something new and interesting to try, which keeps me always wanting to go back for what I had seen the previous day. There is one downside, but its a flip flop reversal. You pay for what you get. And what you get is fantastic service, great food, and a selection that is very hard to come by compared to any other grocery store. I make 2 stops here each week to plan out the meals for the first half and the last half of the week, and I always try to take note about what is on sale at the deli counter so that we can mix it into whatever we might be planning. The cashiers are friendly too... oh, and they have an outstanding flower section that is carefully monitored outside. It's always awesome to walk through there just to see what is blossoming. If you want to avoid the big chain stores, this is your super-market / grocery store! read more

A complete market with a lot of great fresh produce, gourmet cheeses, fine wines, a lot of healthy snacks, and a good random meat delicacies. They also sell fresh flowers, random seasonal stuff like pumpkins at Halloween and the like. I especially like their selection of Detroit made items like sodas, ice cream, beer etc. Their original location is on Michigan Avenue in Dearborn. Like everyone is saying, this place is overpriced. I'd go in there for something I forgot, but to do all my shopping there would really break the bank unnecessarily. Seriously, in a pinch they're great. I forgot my lunch: go in there and get a sandwich and some extras. Nailed it. Oh, I'm getting on a train to Chicago in 25 minutes: Grab some snacks and a big bomber craft beer. Nailed it. If you are just looking for food then this is a great place to go. It's not a one stop shopping market. Good deli and prepared food section and no matter how long the line is they move people along (unlike Meijer where you can wait forever). This area is a little pricier but good quality so I'm OK with it. They have a GREAT cheese selection, if you can't find what you are looking for there I would be very surprised. They also have a good wine selection and have signs stating if you don't see it they would be willing to order it for you. I prefer this location to the one in Dearborn as the parking here is much better. read more

Meats that are beautiful, fresh and the help in that department have always been super friendly. Cashiers are always friendly and efficient. I am not a fan. Such a limited organic section it is useless to stop in. Cheese area is nice, but they do have to cater to bland American tastes so no smelly cheeses (those are the absolute really good ones). Bakery section is overpriced for stuff that's way too sweet and just like mass produced stuff. Don't like the bread, rather buy LaBrea at Meijer. Find veggies and fruit overpriced but they are nicely stacked and look pretty. The fresh flower section is very nice. They will combine your selection into a lovely bouquet. read more

I go here for the selection of local goodies, veggies, and the salad bar! LOVE the salad bar!!! Yummy fresh muffins and treats too. They have a great floral section too, with reasonable prices. Also lots of unique items that aren't found just anywhere. I've been to this location and the one on Woodward in Berkley, and I have to say that I like this one better. It could be that it's not as packed, and I can get what I need and get out pretty quickly. read more
