There is nothing extravagant about Aldi and it is definitely not your typical grocery store. Honestly I was lost on my first visit, so here is Aldi 101. Pay a quarter to unlock a basket/shopping cart, do your shopping, return the cart after loading your groceries in your car, and you'll get the quarter back. What the..... Ikr. Don't look for brand names, Period. Paper or plastic? Neither. No bags of any kind are provided, so bring your own. You are welcome. This location is always clean and organized, friendly staff, and offers quality products at reasonable prices. I always find great deals on almond milk, pretzels, unsalted cashews, Winking Owl moscato, and organic produce, hummus, and spices. I checked this ALDI out when I had a day off, and I must say that, in terms of product selection, it's the best one I've seen in Nashville so far. Sure, the one by the zoo is a really good store, and the one in Bellevue (Highway 70S) is the best aesthetically. However, this one, located about a mile west of White Bridge and Charlotte, just off Charlotte, is the first one in town where I have ever seen ground bison (I bought some - it was great!). I found many of my other ALDI favorites here as well. If you haven't been to ALDI, just remember to bring a quarter and preferably also reusable bags. You'll need to put the quarter in the shopping cart to unlock it, but when you return it and lock it back, the quarter comes back out (However, at this store I found that people will be glad to just give you a quarter and take the cart so you don't have to take it back.). They charge a small fee for bags, and you bag your own groceries. However, checkout is super speedy, so I like it this way. Another note, many of the pictures that I've seen on this Yelp listing are out of date. This store, like many ALDI stores (one exception I know as of this writing - Franklin, TN - why haven't they done this??), has been significantly remodeled. I stopped into Aldi for the first time this weekend for a couple miscellaneous items, and it fit the bill for what I needed! Definitely a rather random assortment of food and home goods, but all at a very cheap price. My favorite purchase was a bag of mini bell peppers for snacking at $2.99! Great deal. They also offered some great non-dairy items like soy and almond milk. However the price was pretty comparable to Kroger for those items. Only down side, NO credit cards! Cash or debit card only. Also, they will not have ALL the items you need. But if you are looking for a cheap grocery trip, this is your place! read more

Meh! Not really my speed. I like the simplicity of the check out but I think I'd feel like crap if I ate food from this outlet.

Been an Aldi's shopper for many years. But this particular thing really irritated me to the max. Bought one of those 5 lb. rolls of chopped meat for $10. Seemed like a good deal, especially with the prices of meat today until I actually used it. For every pound of meat, there was 25% fat which is ridiculous. So I actually paid $10 for 6 pounds of meat not 10 lbs. Shame on you Aldis for mixing the meat with so much fat and making it look like a deal. I bought two of those so I'm really annoyed. I wouldn't have bought it at that price if I knew I was only getting 6 pounds. Won't be doing that again and wouldn't adivse anyone else to do that as well. I'm tired of being conned by the food industry. Aldis just went down a few notches in my book. read more

Not bad at all... Crowded, lots of inventory, same prices on stock as the rest of the Aldi stores. I love this store. They save me bundles on detergent, produce, almond milk, butter, spinach, salad goodies.. pureed pumpkin.. have I left anything out? They are down the road from K&S World Market (another favorite of mine) - so I can usually kill two birds with one stone. Go to K&S for my pork belly, rice noodles, unusual produce then hit Aldi, up the road for eggs, bacon, almond milk, spinach.. *** West side of Nashville has the BEST shopping. It's a little trek from East N, but so well worth it. And I love good produce and pork belly!! This is a clean Aldi. I noticed it was fairly crowded. It sits up on a hill with plenty of parking. Aldi is crazy amazing whether you have a budget or like some amazing great deals and interesting finds. Some Aldis have more selections for different ethnicities, but this one off Charlotte has a nice wide selection not pointed toward any one culture. The first time I walked in I couldn't believe the prices on produce and quickly had a handful which put me in a conundrum. Newbies need to know they have to "rent" a cart for a refundable 25 cents. My first couple of times I was able to juggle my way out the door. The carts are at the front of the store before you go in. The best buys are the produce, eggs, frozen goods and chicken and beef stock the liquid version, IMHO. They are stocking up on organic and gluten free options too. They have both brand name products and aldi brand products and sometimes drop the brand name products when aldi can bring a comparable product in their name. An example was Marie Callenders chicken pot pie. Aldi had them cheaper than anyone. Then they came out with Brenner's chicken pot pie and no more Maries. However, Brenner's is better. They have lots of different options you would not believe for the price. Seriously you should check this place out. read more

As a shopper on a budget (college/grad students; recent college grads), this little gem is a staple of my grocery runs. The foods here are much cheaper than typical grocery stores, and the store is small and no-frills, which allows them to keep operating costs down and pass on the savings to you. However, be aware that they only take cash or debit, no credit cards. I can typically find most of my basic needs here at great prices (eggs, milk, yogurt, juice, bread, snacks) and they also carry produce and fruit (albeit a smaller selection than most grocery stores) that seem to rotate going on sale every week. There are also some household supplies and canned products, and for the most part everything is on par with brands you would find elsewhere. Aldi has a satisfaction guarantee where if you're not satisfied, you can bring it back, although I have never tried it because I've always been satisfied with what I buy here. If you're trying to save some money, definitely give Aldi's a try. They probably won't have everything you need, but they have enough that it's worth a stop, and the savings alone is worth 5 stars to me. I really like this Aldi. It's clean, well organized, well stocked and there's a ton of parking out front. They have a nice selection of produce and I love the addition of fresh fish. I discovered this Aldi's after hearing about it from a friend. Now it is my go-to store. I am able to get most of my weekly groceries here, and since the remodel, I've noticed more organic products available. Basics and not-so-basics, such as chocolate, cheeses, wine, are quite reasonably priced. In fact, some items can be comparison-shopped and are much cheaper than other stores. I especially love the Christmas treats--from Advent calendars to specialized cookies and other "fancy" items. And the "Aldi's Finds" aisles never fail. read more

Avoid going to this location as long as the elderly woman with extremely short hair is the cashier. Have shopped at this location since it's original opening years ago. I have never had any bad experience at this store until this person became a cashier there. She is rude and very unprofessional. I cannot believe none of the management there is aware that she is causing the issues she is causing. She just lost a loyal customer for this store. read more

Aldi is and has always been an inexpensive grocer staple in the city. Don't underestimate this brand. It will have everything that you need and then some. The best times to attend this location is early, during the day to avoid the rush. Another thing to consider is to go here as soon as the sales commence or you may run the risk of having slim pickings for the sale items. Though this location is a decent drive for me, it is well worth the miles and money. The produce is appealing and tasteful. I think that you will be in for a treat once you go! read more

As has been mentioned by previous reviewers, Aldi is great for people on a budget. They carry a lot of the slightly pricey things that are rarely on sale (i.e. Greek yogurt, queso fresco) for cheaper than any other store. Other favorites include fake Kind bars and other granola bars and cereal, cheap frozen meats and frozen fish. It takes a bit to get used to shopping there. Be warned, you need to bring quarter to get a cart, bring your own bags, and you bag your own groceries after you go through the checkout line. Definitely no frills, but I can bag my own groceries to save 25% or more on most of the things I buy there. They don't always have a fantastic produce selection and if you're looking for something very specific, you may have to also hit Kroger or Publix. My method is to stock up on Aldi things and then fill in from the other stores. read more

Aldi has great prices on fresh produce along with a lot of other basic food items! I love buying avocados, pineapples and bell peppers there. They have tons of great snack options too. I get speciality items at other places usually, but I get a good portion of my groceries from Aldi. The service is quick and friendly, especially compared to other types of stores in town. When shopping there just remember to bring a quarter for the deposit for the cart rental and your own bags. Trust me, those two small things are worth it for all the money you'll save. read more

Love this store! I usually shop at Kroger's or Publix and I found this little store. One great thing they carry organic products and I use to go Trader Joes also but their fruit is sometimes crappy and some of their vegetables, namely cucumbers, expire before you can truly use them. Also, Trader Joes Lemons usually have one bad one in the bag before you notice it which causes other lemons to spoil. At ALDI's I recently bought the organic instant maple oatmeal in the packets and I swear it is a better product than Trader Joes! I even bought 4 boxes to take home to my parents in Little Rock. Sure I was hesitant to try it bc I thought Trader Joes had a better product bc of their name but there is NO comparison, ALDI's is a much better product. I'm doing better with incorporating a lot more fruit into my diet and the quality and prices allow me make several trips a week, at least 3, to keep up with lunches and snacks! Trust me this place is a gem! People at work told me a lot of poor people shop at ALDI's but if you mean smart people who believe that their money belongs to them and not the Superstores well I guess I'm one of those people! Bottom line is I'm not trying to make the Walton's of the world any richer. I'm trying to be a smart shopper that wants quality over bells and whistles! I'm not above bagging my groceries or bringing my own bags, which by the way their bags cost .10 cents. If you can tolerate Wal Mart you should be able to stomach ALDI's and then think how much you have saved! Granted they don't carry a lot of name brands but they make up for it with their Organic products! I have only one minor axe and that is more lines needing to be open when busy or a self check out but it's a little store so I get that too! Great store and products! Shop smart and not fashionable!
