I first found Aldi Grocery Stores in the UK about a decade ago, fantastic concept. Discount foods and sundries, you supply your own grocery bags. You can buy plastic grocery bags to carry your items home and the also sell reusable cloth bags. ((( Plastic Bags .06 & .10 cents each, sometimes there are boxes that they offer for free to carry away your purchase ))) Europeans have been ahead of the curve on ecology and conservation, they even ride public transportation and bicycles to do their shopping. I went to this location the other day to grab some groceries because I was on this end of town. I found some of the fruit and vegetables were not very fresh, some ever had mold. I usually have a wonderful experience at Aldi's, not sure if this location was just having a rough few days or always not great. But bummed they didn't have the fruits I wanted fresh and nice looking. Otherwise this store is clean, they had a pretty full stock of meats and the weekly deal items. read more

I absolutely love Aldi the price of everything is much cheaper than regular grocery stores especially produce, bread , wine and crafts beer. The flowers are 3.99 for 6 roses that usually last longer than most florists. The soups are as good as leading brands sold better for half the price. Canned vegetables their brand so mlm e are as good as leading brands sold in large stores,, some better than most brands some not ....mr favs beets,peas ,green beans, sry bean add rice and cereals The chips are very good. Their corn chips ( plain doritos) are better in my opinion...wind brand that is $ 2.99 is awesome in merlot, reds especially sweet red. And chardonnay are to me as good as a upper brand sold in liquor. Their brand of butter,most chhese and salad and yogurt are all very good taste and price point. Never disappointed. A great fais before you get in, a cart is .25 open from rack, bring your own bags tbey do sell them cheap, or they usually have boxes for groceries, take them to the car, return cart and get your .25 back so, no roll away buggy hitting your car or using a parking space.... read more

This review is not for this specific to thus Aldi, but for Aldi in general. This chain of groceries serves a very specific purpose.....to save you money. But this is not a typical grocery; and is certainly NOT Whole Foods. Here are some tips so you won't be shocked, er, surprised, like I was. 1. Bring a quarter. You need it to get a cart. 2. Bring your own bags. There are none. 3. There are two people working. One checks you out and one stocks the shelves. In other words, there are no baggers, butchers, baristas, etc. 4. So you probably figured out there is no deli, coffee bar or other luxuries you may be used to. 5. There are 4 aisles. There is some attempt to organize; baking goods, produce, meat, dairy. But be prepared to hunt if you are looking for something specific. 6. Very limited choices. You may get one or sometimes 2-3 choices of each product. 7. Off- brands. If you are brand loyal this may not be the place for you. 8. Very limited organic choices- if any. I once saw organic ground turkey but that is not consistent. Hope this helps! I'm a big fan of Aldi, and this is one of the better stores. If you're not familiar with Aldi, you're in for an experience, which some people don't like. It's a European chain of small grocery stores that are ridiculously aggressive at keeping prices low. Want a cart? Put a quarter in the slot, which you get back when you return the cart to the stall, so they don't have to pay someone to bring them in from the parking lot. You bag your own groceries in bags that you bring, or you can buy bags or grab empty boxes off the shelves. I'd guess that 80 percent of their items are their own private label, and you don't have a lot of choices. For example, eggs come in large only, and are 50 cents less than any other store. Quality is at least as good as Kroger's private label stuff. I have a list of totally random items I buy there because they're great quality and price: eggs, mixed nuts, string cheese, fish sticks, fresh mushrooms, refrigerated pizza, tortillas, refried beans. Their produce is as good as Publix but way cheaper. I also have a list of items I don't buy there because of quality (canned vegetables, frozen pizza) or price (hamburger). read more

One of your cashiers has a HUGE attitude problem. This is the second time now she has been ridiculously unprofessional and she even overcharged me for eggs just to deepen the cut. I tried calling to speak to a manager but only reached your toll-free system. The store is beautiful and and products are great but I won't put up such terrible customer service. I feel I should call her out by name (as its on my receipt), but I also feel like that is below the belt as this is on a public forum. If the managers DO see this... I would have previously given this place 4 stars, and while I still love the gourmet products and prices at Aldi, I feel I must add this review in response to an incident that happened the other day. My boyfriend's house is near the Ransom Place Aldi, and we have been shopping there at least 1-2 times per week for the last 7 years. The other day, we were picking up a bunch of groceries and, while there, grabbed a rolling tote bag for a friend. As anyone who shops there knows to do with larger items, my boyfriend held up the roller bag for the cashier to punch in the number on the tag. After ringing up the bag, my boyfriend set it back in the cart, and the cashier rang up the rest of our products. As the cashier handed me the receipt, the security guard leaned in and whispered something to her, she asked to see my receipt again and said "it was 14.99." As this security guard has been there as long as we've shopped there and we chat all the time, I looked at him and said "you could have just asked me." At that point, he said nothing and disappeared. As we were bagging our groceries, my boyfriend was extremely aggravated for "being treated like a shoplifter." I tried to calm him, saying he may have really just been wondering how much it was, but he said he had his reasons for being upset. Once outside he told me that as he was moving toward the bagging counter, the security guard had actually grabbed the cart, stopping his forward motion and jarring his back in the process. Now, I understand it's his job to keep an eye out for shoplifters, but being at the register furthest to the interior, there is no way we could have turned the cart around and gotten through all the other people before he asked the cashier that simple question. Not to mention, we always pull to the counter and bag our groceries first. Again, this security guard has been there forever and knows us so there was no reason to grab the cart like that. He could have just asked us politely or (if he really wanted to be sneaky about it) go ahead and ask the cashier quietly, but grabbing someones cart out of the blue and jarring their back is completely inexcusable. My boyfriend has been in the security field for over 20 years, and he can't believe the way this was handled. He is afraid to go back to this location anytime soon as he is so upset he's afraid of causing too big a scene confronting the man. I mean, really, who treats their long-time customers like this over something so minuscule? I'm quite sad as this store was always the place we went first for everything we could; however, I am unsure if we will ever go back to this location. If not, we will definitely be spending a lot less at Aldi as we'll have to travel to Hermitage or Mt. Juliet. read more

What a breath of fresh air compared to the Aldi on Nolensville. I didn't fear of getting stabbed in the parking lot which is a plus. The staff was very helpful, willing to answer questions and point you in the right direction for items. I was even able to find a lot of organic items for cheap! GREAT NEWS. Aldi in Nashville Tennessee now accepts credit cards as well as debit/check cards. The concept of this store is far beyond the average grocery purchasing stores in the USA. Their focus is on the customer, rather than on profit. I often hear of how courteous the staffs are in the higher-priced grocery stores in the USA, as if they are doing the customer a big favor, as they put up their socalled "sale" signs, while they smile and rip of the public. Big deal. ..a little courtesy while they dig into our pockets. And furthermore, courtesy should be a given anyway, since without the customer there would be no business. Give me a break!
