I can't wait to go back for raspberry picking! One of my favorite things is that they keep their website updated so you know when to expect the cucumbers to be in season and when they'll be done with raspberries. They have even sent postcards! It's a beautiful roast ... probably Select Grade, since it was about $120. But there is plenty of fat in the cap. If this beauty doesn't taste worth a damn, it's on me. Notice that I rubbed it with dry rosemary, course black pepper, Kosher salt and lemon zest. It will sit in the fridge overnight and roast low and slow on Christmas Day. We also picked up bacon, breakfast sausage and Dearborn hot dogs (I'm a hot dog junkie). All of it was fresh and tasty, The service here is spot-on. Not only do they answer questions, but they also give you exactly what you order ... along with some advice. That's old-school, and it's too bad that there aren't more places like this anymore. There's all kinds of unfamiliar sounding beers so you aren't going to find cans of Natty Lite or shit like that. Beer of this quality here is pretty cheap. There's a few large bottles for about $2, and these are pretty large. Besides the beer they also have lots of coffee and pop. They have some varieties that you can't find anywhere else like it seems. Among the food is lots and lots of candy. It's about $2 for a good size bag and there's lots to choose from. The ingredients are in different languages but includes English too. It even has a produce section and the fruits and vegetables look fresh. They have a very large deli section. Cool place for getting European food. It can be hard to find because it's hard to see. This is in the shopping plaza that's at the corner of State and Pleasant Valley.
