Huge selection of product, both regular and aisle of shame. (OK correct term is aldi finds ha). This location has several registers as well as self check out registers. I have been to this store several times and had already reviewed this business before, but once again, my review has disappeared. I have no idea why. I have always liked ALDI stores. They are good and reliable for affordable grocery items and more. The selection is usually nice, and the quality of the product is good. I like their snacks variety, cheese variety, some produce selections, meat/ poultry/ seafood selections, dairy products, and more. This store is clean and generally, well stocked. This is one of the nice Aldis , never crowded and shelves always stocked. THey now have self checkout, which speeds up the process. They have a good variety of chocolates, snacks and their cheeses and crackers are reasonably priced. I am a fan of their seasonal themed soy candles for $4.99 read more

Wow, it was amazing that when you first arrive in front of the store, someone's there to greet you and ask if you want a santized shopping cart, no quarter needed! The store was well stock, got everything I needed and they have pork chops available here, no shortage yet! The aisles were wide enough for two people to pass by at the same time! Everyone was wearing a mask and obey the social distancing of 6 ft! I would definitely go there again and hope everyone stay safe and this will end soon! Didn't take any photos! I love food and grocery stores. This is fairly new and one of the nicer Aldis. Start off put a quarter in the cart, they don't have name brands for everything but there are some. That's all these has a bakery in it very small good fresh breads. Excellent selection of chocolates and if you like snacks they have a lot of snacks and they're pretty good they also have seasonal snacks they sell wine. I think they have beer to. All their produce is organic they have a very good variety of cheeses and salamis. Very reasonable priced meats and salmon. Bring bags or purchase them. They don't have a phone that you could call and talk to someone there's usually someone around that you can find stocking for groceries. Sometimes the service could be a little bit slower check out but I guess that's why the prices are good. I read more

While the prices are good, you sure do get what you pay for. When I opened the sealed bag of baby carrots, slime dripped out. The bag said "ready to eat." The fresh corn, which is very much in season, tasted like something you give to pigs. Two days after buying cantelope, it has mold. read more

Am such a fan of Aldi. The prices are simply amazing for the quality and variety of things you get. The place opened up just a month ago and I've been wanting to visit ever since. SO a few things if you are new to Aldi - 1. You do put a quarter to pull out a cart for shopping BUT you get the quarter back when returning the cart 2. The cashiers do not bag your stuff. Again am totally ok, its no different than Costco and I bag the smaller items quickly after billing The store itself was very well maintained, clean and fresh. If you are looking to buy organic on a budget then Aldi it is! I love to pick up Blueberries, Baby Potatoes, Cheese Blocks and Frozen Treats which really are a great deal here. This particular store also has a fresh bakes section which is neat. Layout is similar to the store in Mundelein and as such I didn't have difficulty locating items. The cashier who helped us was friendly and quick at her job. I was done shopping in a jiffy. Aldi, Vernon Hills is really a nice addition to the area. read more

Very nice store!! Aldi is really stepping up their game by offering products that are just as good (if not better) than their higher priced alternatives. I find myself buying stuff at Aldi that I would ordinarily walk right past at Jewel or elsewhere. They have tons of organic options and their beer and wine selection is usually great! I'm looking forward to trying the big soft pretzel I bought from the fresh bakery case...maybe with a little cheese dip too! The Vernon Hills/Libertyville store is a new store. Very clean, well organized, friendly employees. It's sad to hear people bash this store because they just can't fathom returning your cart and getting your quarter back OR the horror when they realize they have to *shudder* bag their own groceries!?!?! I've been doing nearly all of my grocery shopping at Jewel for my entire adult life. I'd heard of Aldi but never been since there wasn't one close to me. I admit that I believed it to be the ghetto of grocery stores picturing dented cans and crushed boxes. Then this store opened and several people I know and respect recommended that I check it out. They also gave me the following advice: 1. Have a quarter on you to get a cart. You get the quarter back when you return the cart. 2. Bring your own shopping bags. 3. Know that this is not an average grocery store where everything is available in multiple sizes and brands. Thus prepared, I was ready to check Aldi out. I love deals, if there is a coupon or a money saving app, I'm in. I did get some great deals, especially on items that must be Aldi's generic brand. I did notice that name brand items weren't a significant savings on what I'd spend at Jewel. The store was clean and the parking lot is nice. I wasn't a huge fan of having to bag my own groceries after checking out. The cashier is putting my items in a cart, why couldn't the put them in a bag? I saved a significant amount on items that I buy every week at Jewel. I'm definitely going to be making regular trips to Aldi in my future. read more

The store opened 12/13/18 and I was there on 12/15. I was curious and thought I should check it out as a price conscious consumer as friends have raved about Aldi prices. I'll go again but buyer beware, it's not a bargain store. I liken it to dollar stores like Dollar General, not everything is a bargain. Pros: 1) like any other grocery store shopping experience, if you know your prices you could find some bargains. Both jars of roasted peanuts and Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce were less than what I paid minutes before at Marianos. Also bought a 10 pack of wild bird suet cakes and paid 1/2 the online price. 2) I appreciate that customers need to bring there own bags or pay for them. Everyone has reusable bags theses days. 3) fresh bakery items looked great 4) nicely priced wines, sans there sister company Trader Joe's Cons: 1) hours, store doesn't open until 9am. I'm an early, 7am shopper to avoid Saturday crowds 2) carts, seriously, I doubt getting back your $.25 encourages people on the North Shore to return their carts. Fact is I hung out by the resisters and grabbed a cart that a person didn't put away. 3) selection, it's a small store. I could never see doing all of my shopping there. 4) small parking lot, people were waiting for me to back out. 5) filling your bags, bring a friend, I was by myself and there is no bagger. Cashier just started dropping things in the cart before I figured out the program so I had to spend time taking items out of the cart to load my bags. read more

Really Clean, Well stocked and very friendly staff. Also the only Aldi I have seen with a bakery!

New Aldi concept store. I like how they have their own bakery with freshly baked goods. Love the croissants and donuts. Since it's still new, it's clean and bright and spacious. No big deal having to bag your own groceries. I just wish they have more cashiers during busy hours. I love Aldi's Specially Selected items, they are comparable to Trader Joe's such as ice cream and cheeses. read more

This store is the worst. They sell mislabeled products, old products and won't take back products they sell even if there is a national recall! Sometimes you get good produce here but generally their products are a cut below the national chains. I have bought rotten produce here, been mischarged and double charged for a purchase and worst or all they don't except refunds. What's this charge for using a shopping cart? read more

Knowing what to expect, having frequented Aldi for years, I would rate this five stars. In fact it's probably the best Aldi I've been to. Very clean and bright; even the restroom was clean. The question is, if it's a good fit for the area. I'm not sure the clientele in this area will like the concept of having one cashier while a long line runs around the store; for those already familiar with the concept it's no big deal, but for someone who's going to an Aldi for the first time, I don't think this is going to fly. read more

This Aldi is great! Spacious, clean, and well organized. Our cashier was very friendly too! For those complaining about bagging your own groceries or the cart return, that's why it's so affordable! Not to mention quick...love that I can get in and out quickly. read more
