My house is a plethora of special food needs and the standard grocery store severely lacks in meeting those needs. The first time we ordered from here was through the website and we drove up to pickup the food. First, the app... perfect. Need gluten free food filtered? Yep! Need low carbs and zero sugar filtered? Yep! Did you decide to go into the store instead and need to turn it into a shopping list telling you which aisle and section it is located in? Yep! Honestly, it is fantastic. Next, it is employee owned. Everyone inside seems to care about making you a happy customer because they own a stake in it. Lastly, this place is massive! I can't rally explain to you how massive. It is 242,000 square feet of groceries. For scale, that is 15 commercial Boeing 737 jetliners inside or 395 full sized semi trucks or the entire New York City Central Park Zoo! It has every food you could imagine with every gluten free, keto, and zero sugar option my family craves. Want that Mountain Dew Voltage raspberry soda you thought was long gone? Yep! Want those Keto ice cream bars that taste better than standard ice creams? Yep! You got a customer for life. Well done! read more

A gigantic grocery store with tons of options Coming from New England, we don't usually see stores of this size unless they have blue and yellow signage. In need of household goods, we made the trek and figured there was at least a few options available. We were wrong, this place is not a typical grocery store. It's a food emporium, with tons of aisles and plenty of choices. Was surprised they didn't have any manned stations (meat, deli, and fish usually have someone there with fresh products). This place just has more aisles. And while we might have one or two cases of a specific type of item, you got full aisles. And not just one aisle, but multiple. And many different brands and types. It's impressive to say the least. The discover only for card payments was a little weird. But not an issue since they take cash. Price was fairly reasonable as well. Was at this Woodman's on the morning of July 17, 2026. IF you ever hear an announcement for a test of their emergency system and you have a bad heart, I recommended leaving this store IMMEDIATELY. Never, ever have I heard a louder alert ... it's hours later and my ears are still ringing. That overwhelmingly LOUD noise was a total nightmare. This store is making it harder and harder for it's customers to shop here. This is only one example of how messy the aisles were in the store this morning. read more

Updating my review. I went to Woodman's again and I just love this grocery store. I did find my ice cream. It has the best array of healthy food and is the cheapest store around, too. I wish I knew about it years ago. It's a little bit of a drive for me but well worth it if I'm buying a week's worth of groceries. Gas was also $4.09 yesterday. The gas station right around the corner was $4.69. By my house it is over 5.00 a gallon. read more

This place is massive. You will definitely get your exercise -- 5,000 steps -- shopping at Woodman's. Unless the items are on sale at Jewel or Mariano's, Woodman's has the lowest prices. Also, Woodman's has items that you cannot find at Jewel or Mariano's. The only caveat: the ONLY credit card Woodman's accepts is DISCOVER. there Monster product is a minimum of 1 year old. Coke delivery guy was putting new product on shelf today it was dated for november 2024. Really the product looses flavor after 6 months on shelf. first letter is month the next numbers is year it was made. All the rest of the monster is dated for jan feb of 2025. read more

The lady in the liquor department was not friendly at all. She had an attitude the whole time, was rushing me out and saying "here" as she was handing me my change. She has no costumer service training at all. On top of that she deliberately puts a shopping cart in front of me as I was trying to make my way out.overall not a good experience at all with her. read more

I LOVE Woodman's!! There are sooooo many amazing things to find & purchase that you just can't find at other stores. I still have my staple grocery stores, but I highly recommend going to Woodman's too! I will say it is a very large store! I've been a few times and have not been able to walk the whole store in one trip because it would just take too long, haha! The soft drink section is full of soooo many options! One aisle that is a HANDS-DOWN MUST SEE is the CHEESE AISLE! Woodman's is a Wisconsin based brand and naturally has a cheese section second to none! This is pretty much my favorite store to shop at for Groceries. They used to carry more items. They actually carried Johnson & Johnson athletic tape. Which was completely awesome. Then recently quit supplying it. But all in all they really have alot of items to choose from. They do need to move the Pokemon Vending Machine away from the entrance. Lately everytime I go they have 3 or so guys loitering in the entrance. Not a big deal but it's starting to get annoying. They also have a great liquor store with just about everything. Aug 16th. - Actual pile of poop on the floor. Staff all walked by it. I placed cart over it. My family notified front desk, spoke to a young guy who dismissively stated they knew about. We continued shopping. Poop still there but more poop thru isles. Now people have walked thru it, as well. Moving on to checkout, cashier, ( Julyssa), was so rude? Ask a question and she barely would reply as if it was effort? Don't know if sick, hungover or both. Called and spoke to a supervisor who was awesome. Later I received an unexpected call from store manager who was soooo uninterested in any of this. Not sure why he bothered calling. I did not request a call from him. You definitely can find stuff here that isn't offered at your local grocery stores. At least this business is conscious of the ridiculous price hiking that goes on at your local grocery store and so they help reduce prices and expenditure. They don't make you buy tons of items in order to get a sale plus you'll get more for your money. Plus they keep it open 24/7. read more

This place is HUGE...if you're looking to get your steps in for exercise go shop here! The inventory is impressive, their coffee bean and frozen pizza selections among other things is mind blowing. Prices are generally excellent especially on produce and liquor. Ensure you have an hour and a half to shop, even if you're working off of a list. When you go down the aisles, be careful not to get in the way of their inventory robots! They likely have what you're looking for. Woodman's is a giant grocery store that's open 24 hours a day. This is like a normal grocery store on steroids. It is larger than several football fields. There are benches for those who need to rest while shopping. This store offers the most variety of products I've ever seen. Their frozen pizza covers many freezers. You will find manufacturers' coupons throughout the store. Their prices are super competitive. All Woodman's stores are employee owned. I love supporting companies that treat their employees with dignity and respect. Because of that, the customer service that I have experienced here has always been phenomenal. Woodman's a great choice for grocery shopping...with a couple exceptions: their deli counter is lacking and their meat & produce are just meh. But everything else is great. The selection is incredible. They basically looked at Costco and thought they could get a ton of variety packed into a smaller location. They have a ton of cheese options (they are a Wisconsin company after all), a ton of beverage selections, and an actually pretty nice healthy / natural food section. Their liquor section is a different store, but if you have some groceries (just not a large cartful) they will ring your out in their area. And they have a pretty decent selection of liquor, wine, and beer. Kind of like a small Binny's. If you purchase in the store, you can use your receipt at the gas pump and get a discount on fuel. They also have a good service station, although the pumps are always busy especially when gas is cheap. People drive like absolute lunatics in this area (which is why I use the pumps on the other side of the street). Lastly, you can either pay by credit or Discover card. They don't take the other credits cards, which is annoying. read more

This grocery store is what you'd get if Trader Joe's and Costco had a baby. It is enormous and has a staggering variety of items! It is also low priced enough where you might think "am I stealing?" I would certainly recommend coming here. There are some caveats: The liquor store is a separate store, technically, so it's basically two shopping trips/two receipts in one. The produce section is good, not great, and could stand a bit more variety. Using delivery or pickup is a crapshoot in the sense that you might get bad produce. Also, I once picked up a package of meat, and it was opened, so the hemoglobin got all over my hands, which was gross. The employee nearby didn't seem to care too much. Despite those complaints, the "if you think of it, they have it" nature of this store sets it apart, and so do the fair prices! But this store is enormous beyond belief. Many products to choose from. Prices are the same as Walmart. Store is huge and is very clean. Employees are very polite.

My first impression: It's huge! Moving here from California I assumed groceries would be cheaper, but I was shocked to find out the were even more expensive here. Until I discovered Woodman's... Not everything is cheaper, but if you shop around there are some great bargains and you'll pay less than Walmart and even Costco. They even have cheap gas. There's also a better selection on many items than you'll find anywhere else. They have the most frozen pizza that I've ever seen in one place in my whole life. A 24hr mega grocery store is essentially wwhat this place is. Aisles upon aisles of various groceries and essentials. Layout was very typical to a grocery store and easy to navigate. Prices overall were decent, not cheap but also not overpriced as well. I was able to get everything I needed for my family here. Love that it's 24hrs, making it convenient for 2nd and 3rd shift workers to get their shopping done. read more

If you enjoy shopping, Woodman's is great. If you're like me and prefer not to spend a significant portion of your day in a store, then it's less than ideal. Put simply, it is too damn big for anything other than a prolonged shopping excursion. If I want to drop in to just pick up a jug of milk or a couple of snacks to throw in the kids' lunch, it's still a half mile march to the correct aisle. One or two more items on the list, and I find myself wanting an energy bar and a bottle of water to tide myself over. Never mind that navigating the parking lot will present plenty of near-death experiences. They do get props for an excellent alcohol selection and significantly lower prices than other grocery chains. Woodman's has prices that are significantly less than Jewel etc and a much bigger variety of brands. If you're looking for a huge cheese selection, this is your place. There are cheeses from around the world although most are from Wisconsin. Their liquor store has a nice selection and the prices in general are better than Binny's. They often have end of the season clearance on beer that's sometimes 50%+ cheaper than their regular prices. Only downside is they only take Discover Card, debit and cash. read more

well we live far from this food store but we have been there before but this time we spent a lot of time here shopping both of us have bad backs so its hard to stand for a long time so we got to the self check out and the machine stopped working it took two ladys to try to fix the problem it took for ever and the young lady with long nails said she needed to look back on the camra well go right a head wile i stood there with my back pain wile she had a snobby smile on her face and got a guy up frount to tell him we were the bad guys the untrusty people that she did not know no one cared about us at all or how much money we were spending my food was starting to defrost i had to ask for a new package of frozen ground turkey i have a cooler with ice packs in the car and if we did not have to spend so mush time at the check out are food could of been fine it took a lot of time to straighten out this mess no one should be treated so badly with disrespect just because your machine freezes up you guys were not nice at all then to turn things around like we did something wrong well that makes my thanksgiving holiday a not forgiving holiday never coming back read more

Produce is OLD/ rotten, store is messy / needs a deep clean and above all the staff is rude and unhelpful... I've given this store a dozen chances and it keeps getting progressively worse... The self checkout takes forever because it's usually broken! They charged me 2x for the same purchase because their computers were a mess and it locked up my debt card thinking it was fraud. It sounds strange to say this, because normally more selection is a good thing, but this store is actually too big. If you miss grabbing something on your list it's a long tedious walk to go back and find it. Plus some genius designer had ceramic tile floor installed. You know the kind with grout lines between the tiles. There's a reason no other grocery stores have ceramic tile. The whole time you're pushing your cart around it's clunk, clunk, clunk as your wheels roll over the grout lines. In a store this size, it's enough to drive you mad lol. The prices seem decent for food. The alcohol prices seem good, although I don't drink that much so it's of minimal benefit in my case. They don't take credit cards so I paid cash. Luckily I had enough on me. Maybe they take debit too, not sure, I've only been there a couple of times. Gasoline prices are good but the car wash is a slow broken down joke. You know da Furst time I went here I wasn't all dat impressed. I had never heard of Woodmans befo. Den I find out dat dey originated in Cheesehead land in Janesville, WI ova da borda. For dose of youse guyz dat don't know about dis store if fricken ginormous as in huge as in Supa large. I just found out about da likka stor inside dis beast. Not only do they have a great selection of booze (betta den Costco) but the prices blow Costco outta da wata. I'm a scotch drinka blended or single malt scotch. I'm not a huge drinka, but I do appreciate a good bottle it's just dat der are so many options to chose from. What I hate is buyin a bottle of booze den findin out dat I don't like it. Boy does dat suck. I'm learnin what my preferences are. My sista lives in Deerfield right down da road from da. Buffalo Grove store. Dis store has the largest selection of frozen pizzers I've Eva seen. It's impressive but how many pizzers can you eat? How about it Ms Nancy watta ya say? Woodman says the stores are able to keep prices low because they buy direct from manufacturers. Also, they do not accept credit cards - cash, check or debit cards only - which saves on credit card. I've been to sizable supermarkets but Woodman's is colossal! I live in the North Shore and though our local commercial feeds, Woodman's tends to come up a lot. Their catchy commercials featuring a vibrant Phil Woodman ending with "Its Woodman's!" piqued my interest. So out of curiosity, I made the trek to Buffalo Grove and went to this location. As I approached the store from Deerfield parkway, the massive parking lot made me realize just how big this place is. If I had to illustrate scale, imagine a Costco and then double the size by two. That's how big it is. Woodman's has over 30+ numerical aisles (back half of the store) in addition to a separate A-Z aisle in the front. Sadly, I had only 30 minutes to spare and given the size, that's barely enough time to comfortably browse the entire store. I was in a rush due to time constraints and only purchased essentials for an upcoming road trip. Thankfully their approachable associates helped me get in and out quickly given their knowledge of the layout. Had time been on my side, I would've stayed longer and enjoyed the experience more. On my next trip, I plan on trying out their sushi bar and doing a thorough shopping trip. Their competitive pricing is a draw; often advertising some pretty amazing deals too. One thing to note is there's a separate area on the far right side where they sell booze. You will need to complete your booze purchase within booze grounds. Carrying that unpaid bottle of Absolut outside of it is a big no no. Lastly, I like that they are employee owned. I really wish the owners consider opening up shop south of this location. I think they have a lot to offer and I had a pleasant first impression. read more

Woodman's is the Costco of grocery shopping. Literally imagine a huge Costco and replace the aisles with 48 aisles of refrigerated food (there's an aisle just dedicated to cheese), frozen goods (including a whole GF frozen section) and dried goods. You'll find lots of fresh meat in their meat department - but nothing is less than at least a couple of pounds. Ground beef are only available in 3 pound+ packages. The organic/health food section is unparalleled. I'm always finding a new product for the fam to try out. And some of our favorite snacks we can only find here - like Lesser Evil popcorn and Good Crisp potato chips. The gluten free aisle here is impressive - from Gf oatmeal for breakfast to King Arthur GF chocolate cake mix, they've really done well stocking. The only problem with Woodman's is sometimes there are just too many choices! And other times you discover they carry authentic Mexican soda that you know the kids will go gaga over. I will say the produce isn't my favorite part of the store - sometimes they have great stuff, sometimes not. But it's always at bulk prices. And speaking of prices, everything here is always a little bit less than your typical grocery store (which is the real reason to come here). From fresh meat to cheese to eggs, I get our family groceries for less here without the "sales" and coupons. read more

Last week I was buying cases of water, utilizing self-checkout. The employee working the section refused to do what is usually automatically done without my even requesting it which is to come over & manually key the water. I asked for help, she walked over to me & said she couldn't do it because it would stop her from being at the station to watch the other registers meanwhile standing next to me, NOT at the station, she's so concerned about. When a male employee questioned her, she claimed it was a new rule, after she walked away he came over & manually keyed the water. Tonight I arrived at the store at 830 I parked at the back entrance I only needed 2 items so I knew I'd be back up front before the registers closed at 9. At 8:54 I arrived to find all the registers closed, two employees standing by chatting. I inquired, CODY replied "This section is closed" I further inquired I thought this section closed at nine, he went back to what he was doing and CHOSE to ignore me while his co-worker looked back & forth from him to me unsure what to do. I don't know who does the hiring for Woodmans but they sure have picked a bunch of rude nasty people. It's a very large supermarket. Open 24 hours a day. No need to be a member. There's groceries, food, almost everything you need. There's cheap gas as well. There's a very large parking lot. There is a video rental booth and a lottery buying booth as well. I really like it. I will definitely come back many times. read more

How nice to find my favorite Wisconsin supermarket here in Illinois. Prices aren't as good but that's the difference in taxes, Illinois also has better government services than Wisconsin. Same great selection, good prices, amazing selection of frozen pizza and lots of cheeses from Wisconsin. One thing I don't like is that like other Woodman's there are less human cashiers in favor of more self-check out. I don't like becoming an unpaid employee of a supermarket but if you're going to put me to work, give me better training and maybe some discount. read more
