"Finally! About time! Thank goodness." Is likely what the residents of Hilltop and this area of Virginia Beach are vocalizing. There's a Trader Joe's and a Whole Foods barely a few minutes drive away and I still think ALDI will see plenty of business. In my opinion this will be because of the mind-blowing weekly deals on produce and the non-food ALDI finds. I got a giant pineapple for 89 cents. (Valid 7 days only). I can say that this layout is different from the previous local locations I've visited. I found it interesting to walk right into a cold foods section as soon as I entered the store. Being near the door means being closer to the summer warmth. I'm just accustomed to cold foods being further/deeper into stores. But this does make it easier to pop in and grab a nice refreshing cold drink.

Yesterday's lone cashier with big ole cross hanging around his neck was rude to everyone, cold as ice! Enough to keep me away!

The event included food trucks and a variety of vendors. My friend and I grabbed some BBQ from S&J Catering and it was delicious. We also grabbed donuts from Klassic Donuts and Glazed & Infuzed as well, which were very tasty. As we walked through the different shops, I absolutely loved all the fresh local, produce that was available. One of the shops offered a variety of jarred items and sauces so I purchased Crab Salsa and Spicy Pickled Okra. Both were very good and I definitely need to go back and get more! I absolute love supporting local businesses and I will definitely be returning very soon! Everyone was very nice and I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

There's a seafood market, a butcher shop, a dessert shop, ice cream shop, and a restaurant. The prices are pretty reasonable and the people who work there are pretty friendly. It's a fun place to go and kill time when you just need something to do. I enjoyed my visit!! Check them out!!

The new location has only half of what I bought at Jefferson Avenue in Newport News (not the other store on Warwick blvd.) E-Mart was relocated virtually overnight and without warning to Virginia Beach from Newport News. Did an army of marauders lug everything south or was it quantum tunneling and computer modeling that displace matter within space...? World Market in Newport News is the new E-Mart and has only furniture, not the Asian food I was looking for. Instead, I went next door to Fresh Market and bought two bags of red, white and blue potato chips. The woman of color behind the counter knew I understood what they had done. She said something out of context with my shopping trip: "It's my turn now." As if reparations are my duty to the world and I have to hand over the American legacy on a silver platter to make things right. Oh, so that's why you keep moving things around. Okay! Don't look at me if you want 40 acres and a mule because thanks to the local radical left politicians and reverse discrimination I have neither. This is a shell game. Someone is practicing psyops.

They are open every Saturday 9-noon (May-Oct) and every 3rd Saturday 9-noon (Nov-April). This is also a pet friendly market. Parking is street parking or there is a small free parking lot nearby. Old Beach farmers market has over 30 vendors each weekend. You can find fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs, seafood, flowers, cheese, mushrooms, sauces, baked goods, tea and much more. You can even find a food truck. Some of my favorite Vendors are: Capstone Mushrooms, they always have a great selection of Oyster mushrooms (blue, pink, gold, king) , beech, Chestnut, lions Mane and shiitake. They sell grow kits if you want to try your hand at growing your own as well as extracts and blends you can add to your soups, sauces or drinks. Life is Gouda, they sell a variety of cheese based spreads. My favorite is the smoked gouda. It goes great with crackers, celery and carrots, a must try! Cromwell's Produce & Fritillary farm is my go to for fresh produce. This market does have a few produce vendors to choose from but I frequent these two the most. They always have fresh greens and fruits that are in season. Nick B's Chimichurri sells absolutely the best chimichurri sauce. It has a long shelf life and doesn't need to be refrigerated. This Sauce goes great on everything, steak, chicken, fish, lamb, even a chip. I find the prices to be very reasonable and comparable to the large chains. Definitely recommend stopping by and supporting small business and local farmers.
