My wife and I have been ordering pickup through Instacart at this location for two years (picking…read moreup our own groceries, I am not an Instacart Shopper) and EVERY TIME, we wait for a long period of time and then have to go inside to track someone down to get our order. This happens on a weekly basis. And I learned yesterday that this happens because they prioritize Food Lion app orders over Instacart orders and treat Instacart customers like an inconvenience. After I had waited ten minutes without anyone collecting my groceries, they instantly brought an order out to someone who pulled up ten minutes after me. Yesterday was ridiculous. I waited for ten minutes because the Instacart app said that someone was gathering our groceries. I was the only car waiting until about the ten minute mark when another car arrived. I went inside to ask the Food Lion To Go employee how much longer it would be, and she said she was grabbing my order. I went and shopped for an item that I left off my order and then circled back around to the To Go area where I saw they had a cart full, which I thought was surely mine, so I went back out to my car. It wasn't my order. They rolled the cart out to the lady who had pulled up ten minutes after me! When I asked how she got her order before I did when I had been waiting ten minutes longer, the employee said "it doesn't work that way, you two ordered from different apps." How does that matter? I went back inside to make sure that my order was being worked and got an attitude from the attendant for being irritated by this ridiculously poor experience. So I guess what I learned is that if you want your order to be treated with urgency, you must use the Food Lion app. I don't use the Food Lion app because they charge a fee per order. It is less expensive to use Instacart+ at $100 a year than pay Food Lion's per order fee for the weekly orders I place. And I can use Instacart at many other stores. And that is exactly what I will do. Take my business to a store that doesn't treat me like an inconvenience.

Produce looks fresh and amazing, all other products are displayed in an attractive fashion. I am able to find a few items I like that are not available at a lot of other locations in the chain. The store is very clean and organized and the staff seems well trained. Even the shopping carts are in good repair and operate smoothly. Employees are polite, professional and helpful. At some local supermarkets, employees seem to just be going through the motions but that is not the case at this Pembroke Meadows location. Employees here seem to enjoy their jobs and place importance on providing a satisfying shopping experience to their customers. I don't get out this way too often but I have visited this store a few times over the past year. Grocery shopping is not generally one of my favorite activities but the experience at this Food Lion location is always pleasant.

It was my first visit to Lidl in the years since it has been open. Because it sits back off the…read moreroad across from Haygood Shopping Center, it doesn't have the visibility that catches my eye. It was built on a parcel that was a medical center for many years. My trip there wasn't planned today. After running errands & taking the CRV through the car wash whose entrance is reached via the Lidl turn in, I decided to make a quick stop to purchase fruit. The store has a very large and clean parking lot with numerous handicapped spots on the side of the store facing Independence Boulevard. Not knowing the bag options situation I retrieved the one reusable bag from this vehicle that I don't normally drive. Carts were available at the entrance to this large store. Having entered on the wrong side, I has to traverse the store to get to the fruit and vegetables. There wasn't a huge supply of each item. Some prices were better than other stores and some the same. I didn't see organic fruit but did see organic baby spinach that I love. Not having a lot of time to explore I headed to nuts in hopes of finding some new mixed options to add to spinach salad. I succeeded in finding several interesting snack mixtures that would work great as toppings. The back half of the store included some dry goods that aren't normally found in grocery stores. Many of the grocery aisles had to be skipped. So there will definitely be a return visit to explore the entire store. The store did seem devoid of employees. I saw one cashier and no one in the aisles that I explored or were visible to me. The line at the cashier wasn't moving at all. Opting for self checkout, which I never do, I found it fast and easy. The option was available to join Lidl's rewards program. I didn't see a purchase receipt or shopping bags, which validated my keeping the reusable bag in the vehicle I was driving. I'll return. It will be a good, quick spot to pick up necessities.

I know Lidl is a European company and expected to see International Items, but I would never have thought the pastries are that good! And reminds me of little café that would sell these tasty items! They have an array of Baggett, bread loaf, , cheese breads, bagels, doughnuts and my favorite the "Croissant " It's Big, Fluffy, light , flakey and Buttery! I think I explained that well. Lol Seriously...I haven't had this good of a Pastry since the last time I've visited France. And the "Big Croissant " is the first one to run out. . They open at 9am, so I like to get there early, so it's fresh baked out of the oven. Just a hint..you can always heat them back up in an air fryer to get them hot and flaky. So get them while there hot or before they run out!

Call it like I see it…read more This is my local grocery store. I have been here dozens of times, and I've had zero issues. The one thing you notice right away is the sheer amount of people that work here. There is someone by the front door where the shopping carts are. They are stocked with cashiers. There's are folks in the bakery, deli, and produce. When you walk around, there are workers in the aisles restocking. Second thing I notice is how clean everything is and orderly. Those things matter. I've also had zero issues finding things that I need. Now do they have speciality items like a fresh market would have? No. But they do have items a typical grocery store would have. Lastly, I rarely wait long in line if I even have to wait. The cashier's are quick and respectful. Well done.
