I consider myself to have excellent 'sleazeball/scam/salesman' radar, and I am happy to report that...this place is NOTHING of the kind. As we all know, in NYC - and especially when it comes to the fine jewelry business - there are lots of places that give you the hard-sell, or where, if you want to Sell them jewelry, they low-ball you or suggest that what you want to sell to them is 'not genuine...not the best quality...' etc. Every dealing I've had with this place, whether buying or selling, the reps strike me as being 100% honest. They provide frank opinions and information on the pieces they are selling to you, or buying from you. Today I sold them a piece of jewelry, and, honestly, I was expecting them to offer LESS money than they did. Again, to me, this shows honesty...that even though it may have been very clear to the rep that I myself didn't know the approximate resale value of the piece, that they still offered me a fair amount of money. Another time, I had a multi gemstone cocktail ring cleaned by them, and they did a fantastic job. This place is awesome, the employees are super friendly and patient. I went in to repair a ring and cleaning of my other rings. The cleanings were on the spot and they made it looked good as new, the repair they did was as if I originally bought it again. Went to this place to have a custom ring made, and due to some scheduling mishaps, I was in quite a hurry. The folks here were incredibly kind, helpful, and patient with my clueless self (I had no idea what a carat was lol). We spoke at length about what I wanted, and then I gave them a picture of what I wanted and they delivered exactly that - a gorgeous ring! I lost an heirloom earring my mother gave me, which were my only pair of earrings. I didn't want my piercings to close up, so I ran to the nearest jewelry store to buy a pair of earrings after work. I was originally looking for solid gold, but the price for solid gold is a little steep for me right now. So the man behind the counter showed me a cute pair of silver earrings for a fraction of the cost (and also educated me about silver being hypoallergenic), my new everyday pair! Albert was extremely thorough and professional in order to ensure what I wanted as a custom designed engagement ring using a family heirloom stone. What I liked most is he could have just had me order a new one from the manufacturer but offered to give it a shot and fix it himself. Amazing service and so quick! My first time here was to get a watch resized and Albert was able to fix it on the spot! After that, we brought two family rings here to clean that hadn't been polished in YEARS; Al took extra care of them and had them looking brand new! There were 2 small stones missing that he quoted us for and when we were ready to fix them we came back. The rings are very old so Al walked us through all our options and outcomes. A number of years ago I took my beautiful Bulova to a few watch repair shops because the clasps would not lock. I was told by multiple people that it would be an expensive fix for a number of absurd reasons and nobody ever gave me any alternative suggestions. I've been carrying this watch around for years now, unable to wear it. I randomly decided to look for a watch repair shop since I moved recently and found Aldor on yelp, they are right around the corner so I decided to stop by. Albert and I went through every possible option, all of which were far more reasonable than anything I had been quoted in the past. Before I left, Albert asked to see the watch one more time and studied it closely. He said that he might be able to fix it without breaking the already aged and damaged clasp (impressive) and without replacing anything (an option NO other shop gave me) so I left it with him. Best jewlery store in Queens! Came in to try to pawn a watch. (Rolex). Albert helped me out. He offered.....and I accepted immediately. Why? Because he did better than what any other jewelery store/ pawn shop offered by a few hundred! That made a big difference for me! He was respectful, responsible and knowledgeable. Recently engaged, I was excited to wear my ring (a beautiful design by Temple St. Clair) which was unfortunately a bit loose for me. I stopped in to Aldor Jewelry Creations to see if they had a plastic ring huggie I could wear with it temporarily because I was not immediately able to drop off the ring to be re-sized at the designer. I thought I was in luck when the person I spoke with told me he may what I was looking for. When he came back from his stock room, and I produced the ring from the box, he made a face as I explained to him that I realized it may not work since a signature piece of this designer's work is a small bead on the backside of the ring. He asked why it was there. I explained it was part of her design. He made a further face and asked me if I liked that. The ring is absolutely gorgeous and exactly what I wanted, a large beautiful flawless stone set in platinum with small creative design touches that make it distinct. Oh and a gift from my fiancée! Appalled by his lack of tact or courtesy, I said "no thanks" and got out of there as fast as I could. For a jewelry store that has a digital scroll sign in neon colors as part of its exterior and whose jewelry selection is constituted of anything but "creations", I really should have thought twice about going in there in the first place. So much for customer service, it's definitely not a store I would visit again for any of my jewelry needs. read more

Regardless of how great your products are, if a customer calls asking questions having never been there before, you be nice. I called to ask about baby jewelry, a cross necklace for my nephew specifically, and the woman on the phone was so rude. Price is a sensitive topic for me, as I want to make sure there is something there in my price range. She couldn't even give me a numeric range. Anyone who works with customers should know that being professional and friendly to your potentially future customers goes a LONG way. Because of that, I will never go here. read more
