I recently had the pleasure of dining at Aldo's Mexican Food on January 13, 2016, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. The shredded beef tacos were absolutely phenomenal--crispy, flavorful, and packed with succulent beef that was perfectly seasoned. The dorados and carne asada nachos were equally delightful, offering a perfect balance of crunch and savory goodness. The vibrant atmosphere and friendly service only added to the charm. Without a doubt, I would rate Aldo's Mexican Food as "the best." If you're in the mood for authentic, mouth-watering Mexican cuisine, this is the place to be!

Horrible service, short line, waited an hour in the drive through couldn't get out of line!! I kid you not! and then messed up my order... I had ordered a #17 and they gave me a cheese taco? Ordered carne asada fries with everything. This is what they gave me..Tried to get my order straight and they refused to fix it. They said they were too busy so I called in the morning and was told it was too late and they hung up on me! Thanks Aldos for the $17 cheese taco and the nasty dry carne asada fries that I threw in the garbage. Horrible service! Food looked nasty too soaked in lard. So many other mexican food places that are so much better! I seriously have no idea why this place is even open and operating. While doing the drive thru you are at the mercy of a nasty person that just gives you whatever they make. I highly recommend to avoid this place like the plaque..

Stopped by a few nights ago for a quick dinner pick up. Ordered the carnitas burrito, on the menu it says it comes with carnitas, guacamole, cheese & pico de gallo. I told the lady when I ordered no pico de gallo but it only came with carnitas nothing else, meat & tortilla. A little disappointing. Also ordered the mini carne asada fries. These are usually always good, this time they were a bit greasy. My kiddos enjoy the kids bean & cheese burrito. I took a bite it's actually really good and good portions (my 2 kiddos shared). I was also bummed because I told the lady the salsas I wanted and they placed the salsas I didn't ask for instead. Other than those two unfortunate things, the staff is usually always friendly and service is quick.

Nancy wanted to finger the fries to show all the toppings were somehow under this. Spoiler alert- nothing I ordered was under this.

This place has horrible service, specifically Nancy. She refused to correct an accident from whoever took my order. When I got home and saw my food was wrong, I went back to get the correct order, but Nancy blamed me for it and said she wouldn't fix it bc I already paid. I'll be going to 760 taco next time , they value my money over there

Love this place but they are always so stingy about their sauces & them anytime I get an combo they make it so messy, it's annoying

The absolute last time I ask for extra cheese I been going to this place for years & yes I will admit the food is good but the quality is something you have to ignore which really sucks! But yeh I'm sure I'll be okay with NOT coming here anymore until they improve on the attitude of their cooks because dang! This was a nasty experience....... I come here way too many times & boasted them way too much beyond the years to be treated like this so this really sucks. Go to Macarios instead or Las Consuelas to get your fix of wonderful Mexican food. Until Aldos fix's whatever they're going through What's in this photo? I've been going to Aldo's since I was a child. Trust me when I tell you. The best thing on the menu is the asada nachos or fries ! Ps. Theirs a secret menu item! Order a mini version, if you're not that hungry. It comes with a drink !

I was craving Aguachiles and was super excited to find out that Aldo has it. It was super yummy. The sauce/juice was on point. Spicy and sour. Shrimps were fresh and sweet. Good combination of cucumbers and onion. Taco servings were generous. Tripas taco was well seasoned and crispy. Carnitas meat was soft and not too salty. Chicken taco and Al pastor taco were a bit oily and salty for me. I love that there is a salsa bar. Also... employees are super friendly and attentive. I think I found myself a new fave place !

Menudo was delicious 10 out 10 definitely coming back again!!! Can't wait to try the Al pastor tacos/burrito and carne asada fries

Two of the Nuestro Desierto 2024 class raved about Aldo's, we checked them out today and were not disappointed. My sister and I had Menudo and my brother in law had an Al Pastor burrito and the three dishes were absolutely delicious Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the students recommendations

They had these cheap old tables and plastic plates. This was no hidden gem. It looked like an old truck stop from the 80s. The art on the walls was kind of cool and indicative of a Mexican restaurant. They didn't carry Jarritos. I asked for pineapple. They said no, but later I found out they had pineapple agua fresca . The waitress should have told me. My niece had chicken nuggets, but they had no barbecue sauce. The carnitas tacos weren't shredded and they had absolutely No flavor whatsoever. My tacos fell apart too. Their tortillas are weak. Luckily they had lemon, salt and Tapatio. They did start with complementary chips and salsa, which was a nice surprise. They didn't have any breakfast burritos We had to wait forever for them to bring our check, they never brought it and we had to walk all the way up to the front to ask about payment.

Even after I kindly asked if they could just take it out our check after taking a sip of it to try it, the server immediately became hostile and said that why would they take it back if I had tried it already. Then we asked to speak to the manager since she couldn't help us and she told us the cooks were the managers and that they extremely angry at us and at her for me not liking the food and asking if they could please just take it out of our check. Even worse than that, we saw cockroaches all over their bathroom!!! 0/10 save ur $$$$ most unprofessional & horrible restaurant experience ever. :(

The Real Deal: Like Sunday at Tio's…read more If you're looking for a "fusion" taco with micro-greens and a side of existential dread, keep driving. But if you want a meal that feels like a warm hug from a relative who's slightly disappointed you haven't visited more often, welcome to Jalisco Restaurant in Coachella. The Atmosphere: Family Values & Smoke Walking into Jalisco isn't like entering a business; it's like walking into Tio JP's backyard. That nostalgic aroma of hard work and seasoned grills immediately greets you. It's a throwback to being a kid, watching your tios hover over the fire, treating every flip of the meat like a sacred ritual. There's no "new-age hype" here--just the perfected craft of a family that knows exactly what they're doing. The Heavy Hitters: Tripas & Cabeza Whether you're a "seasoned veteran" of Mexican street food or a nervous newbie, you have to commit to the Tripas and Cabeza. The Texture: The Tripas are cleaned and cooked to that elusive, crispy-yet-tender perfection. The Vessel: Whether you tuck them into a taco or go big with a burrito, it's a masterclass in traditional cooking. The GOAT (Literally): The Birria Let's get one thing straight: most places are out here serving "beef seasoned with birria spices" and calling it a day. Don't be fooled. This is the real deal. We're talking authentic goat meat, slow-cooked using the De La Torre family recipe straight from Jalisco. It's rich, it's tender, and it carries the weight of generations. It's the kind of flavor you can't replicate with a "modern twist." The Refreshment: Homemade Chavelas You're going to need something to wash down that Menudo or those wet burritos. Their homemade Chavela recipe is the MVP here. For the Modelo Negro fans: It adds a dark, savory depth. For the Michelob Ultra drinkers: It gives that crisp finish a spicy, citrus kick. The Verdict Jalisco Restaurant is one of the valley's originals for a reason. It's honest food for people who respect the process. In a world of trendy "reimagined" Mexican food, Jalisco reminds us that the original recipes never needed fixing in the first place. Go for the food, stay because you feel like family.

*Mi Casa es Su Casa*…read more My buddy had a small casual bday get-together with his family and invited me to join the celebration. I saw all the favorable reviews on Yelp and was looking forward to my first visit at Casa Mendoza. Very chill & lively family owned Mexican joint in Old Town LQ. The place was kinda busy @6:30pm on Hump Night ~~ always a great sign when I see this. Felt more like a Sunday Evening. It took an hour to receive our meals. Ordered @6:45 arrived @7:45pm. Good thing the Chimichanga & Gauc apps arrived pretty quickly. The Gauc was Excellente. All their food was very good. But all our meals arrived cold/lukewarm. Took forever to receive our food and we knew for a fact it's because all our plates sat a while until we were served. The actual plates weren't even warm and the sizzling fajitas had sizzled out and lost its dazzle. Because it was still 95 degrees when dinner was finally served, our lukewarm meals were doable on a hot night. Everyone did enjoy their meals tho. I was very pleased with my Mahi Mahi in Garlic Butter Sauce. The refried beans were outstanding. The rice very good...and I made tacos with the 3 corn tortillas. But would have enjoyed it even more had all the food been a little warmer. I stuck with H2O but all margarita drinkers said their drinks were good and hit the spot on a warm night. The service in general was also inconsistent for our small party of 8. The Birthday Boy was a little frustrated and got up a few times from his throne seeking assistance -- such as missing tortillas for meals, water refills, extra napkins. We even had to wait longer than anticipated for them to acknowledge the bday boy with a celebratory bday song & sombrero...and the fried ice cream, which didn't include a candle. Tho we all enjoyed ourselves and time together...a 2 hour dinner at a Mexican joint on a Wednesday night wasn't what we anticipated. Especially with one restless 7 year old ;-) But everyone working at Casa Mendoza is very friendly with great attitudes. Hostess team, waiters, servers & runners too. So that made up for the spotty service, just a little bit. Since I'm closer to the other Casa Mendoza in Palm Desert, I'd go there in the future with my wife, and order the exact same thing. But hope for much better service and warmer food.
