Yesterday was our second time and both times we went with larger groups and everyone loved what they ordered! I got the tortilla soup both times and loved it! My husband got the Agua Chile both times and he loved his too! We were with a few kids and it was great to that they had a pancake breakfast for them. The food here is always pretty great. My husband had the huevos rancheros with green sauce (spicy). The eggs were cooked perfectly (over easy), this hardly ever happens. This appears to be a family owned and operated place. The place is cheer. The staff are always super accommodating and seems happy to be there ( another rarity). We've been before and will go back again. The reason for 4 stars? It's a bit pricey but with the current economy, I guess they can't be blamed. read more

So delicious and authentic Mexican food! We have been here for breakfast on two recent trips to Palm Springs. While the family has tried a variety of excellent dishes like the breakfast burrito with chorizo, chili relleno omelette, breakfast enchiladas, huevos el rodeo and the el rodeo omelette...I can not get away from the chilaquiles with chorizo and eggs over easy. This is the best chilaquiles I have eaten and I have tried quite a few. The green salsa is magical--perfectly balanced with heat and bright flavors. It is so good we left after our first visit with a 12 oz cup full to take home. The service is great, the restaurant is clean and inviting with booths, a counter, a bar and outdoor seating as well. It's worth the drive to Palm Desert if you are anywhere in the cochlea valley. This place is truly a gem! read more

Nice spot for Breakfast, Brunch or Lunch. El Rodeo's menu has a really nice selection for all three. The staff is friendly and good at their jobs. This is a small place with fifty or so seats inside (it looks like they're getting ready to expand) and some outside setting that I highly recommend. I had the Chorizo Breakfast Burrito and my wife had the Chicken Breakfast Burrito . The son tried The Mexican omelette. The Burritos are real good and the Son said his omelette (That comes with tortillas rice and refried beans) was second to none. read more

We've tried many Mexican food places in the valley. Literally nothing has compared to El Rodeo. We look forward to it every time we are in town. It's fresh and flavorful. People are nice. To the people on here complaining about charges for extra food or credit card fees....that's how it goes. This shouldn't be a surprise. If the food is good who cares. Everything nowadays is so over priced.... Everywhere I go I'm now being charged an extra 3.5% for use of a debit card. It's such a scam! We ordered a delicious veggie breakfast burrito, it had roasted peppers and onions, eggs, hash browns and not sure what else lol. Most places dem veggie burrito, just eggs, hashbrowns and cheese..... and maybe some beans but where are the veggies? cilantro? Most of the time they suck and it's disappointing for my wife. I, on the other hand love some machaca burritos! How can you go wrong with all your favorite ingredients wrapped up in a tender tortilla. Marinated beef, onions, peppers, spices, and eggs. Gently married with some melted cheese and hashbrowns..... sooooo good. I topped it off with the spicy green sauce, and it was rich with loving, homemade flavor. Add in a couple Micheladas for fun too. My only complaint would be when I left one of the waitresses said "bye gordo!" To my awesome gorgeous baby... this dude is so cute that one of the other servers asked to pick him up out of his highchair, and then walked him around the restaurant introducing him to all the staff. This review is for the pozole and breakfast burrito. Pozole is one of my favorite things and this place didn't disappoint, it had flavor and super fresh. It was pork pieces (which I love) and on the bone. I did shred the pieces up a little before pouring it into another bowl to avoid bone in my soup . Some people may not love that part but I didn't mind, it adds flavor. Loved the toppings although the radishes were missing but that's okay. My husband said the bacon breakfast burrito was really good. Excited to have good pozole locally. read more

My husband and I always love some good Mexican food. We have our go to place, but we wanted to try something new. We were told El Rodeo Cafe was good so we figured why not, let's try it? The food was delicious and prices were fair, but what stood out to us the absolute most was the customer service. I don't think I've ever been treated better at a restaurant. The staff was so attentive, so friendly, and nice. I had ordered a margarita (delicious, well proportioned), but then I saw the bartender blending up something red and I commented to my husband and pointed saying, "Yum! That must be a strawberry marg or something." Well, the bartender heard me, and sent over a sample of it for me to try! I mean come on, how nice is that? The atmosphere was great too. Clean space, decor and music on theme. I loved how they had music videos of the Spanish songs playing, made it a fun vibe. Overall, super impressed and will absolutely go back! read more

When placing my order over the phone, I was quickly told they were busy without much customer service, making me feel like my order wasn't important. I asked if the steak could be cooked medium rare and was given an unclear response, only to find out at pickup that all the meat is pre-cooked--something they could have just told me upfront. When I arrived, three different people briefly acknowledged me before someone finally helped. On the plus side, the estimated pickup time was accurate. I get that they were busy, but as a first-time customer, the experience still felt unwelcoming. I'd recommend calling ahead to check if they're busy, as takeout service seems to be an afterthought.
