Good donuts, very tasty apple fritters, and the best kolaches in Aledo. The food here is good but what bumps them up in my opinion is their customer service and friendliness. We moved to Aledo 5 years ago and have frequently gone into Aledo Donuts. The person at the counter hasn't changed in 5 years!! She's awesome and always makes sure that we get what we want. I have seen the reviews that mention rude customer service and in dozens of visits that just hasn't been my experience. Good donuts and great people! read more

No offense Karen S, but you must not have ever had kolaches in West, New Braunfels, or one of the Shipley's locations. These kolaches are average at best. The coffee was terrible. It tasted burnt and I threw it out. The glazed donut was better than most. read more

This is a nice local donut shop. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. The donut selection was good, and they tasted great! Very soft and flavorful donut and the icing was very good (not the cheap kind that leaves an unremovable grease film in your mouth... know what I'm talking about?). My family goes here once a week on the way to school. I went today and have to say that I wasn't impressed. Their plain donuts are good. But the kolaches were hard and chewy, like they had been reheated several times. The staff wasn't super friendly and just tried to rush you along. The cake donut was just ok. We are fairly new to the area, so I will be looking to see what else is available. If you must go, stick to the regular donuts. read more

We decided to try a new donut shop today, new to us. We went to Aledo Donuts on 1187 in Aledo. There is construction on 1187 right now so parking is difficult. The shop is small but they do have a few tables for indoor seating. They are in need of a paint job so it feels a little bit dirty but not unhealthy. The staff was nice and patient while we made up our minds. Out of our group we ordered apple fritters, cinnamon roll, traditional donuts, eclairs, sausage kolache and an old fashioned donut. The apple fritters had a nice ratio of Apple to pastry which is not easily found in donut shops but maybe was a little too greasy. Roll tasted more like a plain donut than a cinnamon roll as their just wasn't that much cinnamon. The maple Eclair had a nice amount of filling in it. The sausage kolache was popular. They were mixed reviews on the old fashioned donuts. There was a cinnamon one which was very good and a chocolate glazed one that was definitely undercooked. It seems as though the place where they excel is in their traditional donuts. We felt as though part of the problem with the donuts might have been the oil that they use cas there seemed to be a consistent trend in the taste. Overall the donuts are good, at best, definitely not great. Just choose wisely from the menu and stick to the traditional Donuts, sausage kolaches or eclairs. read more

Very good donuts, with a wide variety of flavors. The offerings are mainstream, so you won't see some of the "gourmet" or edgier flavors you would at a place like Voodoo. My personal favorite is the glazed blueberry cake donut, but really, I haven't had a bad flavor yet. Aledo Donut also offers kolachies (okay), as well as breakfast sandwiches of sausage and egg (very very good). There is a wide variety of drinks in a slide-door fridge. I have not had the coffee. It's in pots and looks like what you would see at a chain-type restaurant. The food is cheap, and tasty. The staff is friendly. There are three or four donut places in Aledo/Willow Park, and this one has the best donuts. read more

Rude and hateful. Extremely poor customer service. I do not recommend this business and I will never go back. During this difficult time, this business, that has been lucky enough to remain open, isn't appreciative of their customers coming out to support them. read more

I like donuts. They're alright. But this place has the most delicious kolaches you will ever devour in your life! They have a sort of sweet taste to them that is very unexpected. It's almost as though they use that Hawaiian bread! The service is great and there are always lines. Why wouldn't there be!? It's delicious! If you want a good selection, come early! read more

Went in yesterday as we frequently visit here on the way to work, and we noticed on the way out that there was a roach inside the donut display, mingling with the donuts being served to customers. I don't think we will be back. read more

just moved here and so far, I am impressed! my kids love donuts and this place has sprinkles and fun, different color icing. They even had glazed blueberry. No, it isn't the boutiquey, fancy donut shops I am used to in California with cronuts and gourmet coffee, but it is extremely tasty, mega cheap, the kids love it and the staff is so sweet and kind! love this place and we plan on being regulars! read more
