First - I had a special photo of my son and I (from when he was 4) that I was hoping to recreate on his wedding day. Anna actually brought the photo on the day and they took so many photos, and were so painstaking to even get the hand and body positions perfect. I will cherish the photo that they created! On the day - the team showed up well before our event, and they even mounted flashes up high, around the space (inconspicuously), so there would be enough light at our outdoor venue. They took pictures of everything - the layout, the flowers, and then they captured everyone's expressions as they arrived, and all of the laughter and love during the evening. We have received over a thousand photos, and I have no idea how we will choose - they are all stunning. Throughout the process, Anna was quick to set up Zoom calls (we were off-island and in another time zone!), and quick to respond to emails personally and promptly. She was warm and personable throughout, just a truly kind person to work with. Her team members are all very kind, energetic (!) and eager to do whatever is requested. We hired Deelia Nelson in July 2025 to capture family memories of us in Maui , and what she…read moredelivered was inexcusable. For $450, we expected professional photos -- instead, every single image showed intentional and significant widening edits that distorted our appearance in negative ways. Specific examples: * Hairline blurred/erased made me appear bald. * Waists, arms, and legs widened made our bodies look blocky and much larger than in real life. * Feet compressed together, sand smudged lower bodies distorted to exaggerate waist widening. * Hand-holding blurred and melted edits dragged our hands unnaturally, making them look fused. * Palm trees, bushes, ocean ripples, and leis bent sideways background warped along with our bodies, proving manual manipulation. These were not flattering retouches. They were intentional negative alterations -- essentially sabotage -- that misrepresented us and ruined what should have been special family portraits. And to be clear: there is no way this was caused by a lens, angle, or lighting issue. Gravity doesn't tilt leis sideways, tree trunks don't bend around people, and shadows don't smear unless pixels are dragged. This was strategic editing done to make us look worse. I would strongly recommend not hiring her.

We loved our experience with Love & Water! We had planned a Maui baby moon and after doing…read moreextensive research on photographers, I decided to go with Love & Water due to their breathtaking portfolio and unique style. We were lucky enough to get a sunset slot on a busy holiday weekend just booking a few days in advance, but would recommend booking a few weeks out if you can. Adam was our photographer and we appreciated his laid back and easygoing nature and his ability to coax out some smiles from our toddler who hates posing for photos. I rented the Kasia Kulenty Selena gown in sand as well as brought my own dress, and was able to easily do an outfit change at the beach. It was nice to have a rental gown for photos in the water since you didn't have to worry about it getting wet / sandy. We opted for the Sand & Seashells package (30 mins for a family of 3 was enough time to get in family pics, pics of my toddler, as well as solo maternity pics) and we also had limited time due to the sun setting. We were thrilled with our preview photo which came the next day, as well as the rest of the gallery which was ready 3 weeks after. Love & Water did an amazing job editing the sand to get the look that we wanted and just let the gorgeous, natural colors of the sunset shine through. We opted to upgrade the entire gallery for $150 additional and will cherish those photos for a lifetime!
