I would never, ever, ever take my car to be serviced here based solely on how the owner/manager treats his employees. I live in the neighborhood and unfortunately hear this douchebag constantly yelling at, cursing at, and beating down his employees. I don't know what David's talking about with that review. The staff not only made my car look like a million bucks (the detailing alone was fantastic!) but they made me feel like I was part of the family. My car was hit in a hit-and-run at 6pm on a friday night. Alex himself walked the few blocks over to look at my car. They towed it to their place and took good care of it. Lena at the front desk was so warm and comforting, calling me "hun" at the close of every phone call. My insurance said that I would have to pay for the new tire the needed to put on, Lena said that they don't do that and just took off the cost. When I was leaving the shop with my beautiful car that was done ahead of schedule Alex and his brother (never caught his name) were joking and laughing with me (again at 5:30pm on a friday night). Alex's brother even put on my new parking permit - no rush to get me out the door. The two men were joking around and the brother asked me who I thought was older. Alex was whispering in my ear "tell him it's him, tell him it's him" so I said to the brother, "I think you're the older one!" the two got such a kick out of it that Alex actually gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek! I have never had a mechanic/someone who worked on my car treat me so warmly. At a time when I was feeling like common decency was at an all time low (let me remind you that someone hit my PARKED CAR and left without leaving any information) Alex's Auto Body made me feel like I was part of a community and that I was cared for. I can't say anything about the treatment of employees, but I can say that they really helped me out when I needed it. I was in an accident and went to Alex's on recommendation of auto image on 7th and Washington. Needless to say, i was very frazzled from being in an accident among other things. Lena, the receptionist was my savior. She called to get my police report number. Then she called my insurance company to report the claim. The insurance rep kept her in the phone for an hour and a half, which is not normal. The rep was overly rude and if I were calling in, I would have cursed her out myself. The car took about two and a half weeks to complete the work since most the parts ordered were oem. When I picked up the car, it was completely detailed inside and outside. The inside looked completely brand new again. Both Lena and Alex were so nice to me, despite all my phone calls to check in on the car. read more

Lina called me the next day and told me what was going on, and it was fixed perfectly much sooner than I thought! The guys there are really nice and Lina is the best. I have taken my car here twice and both times I received fast courteous service at a good price. In fact, when I just needed a very quick repair (it only took a few minutes), they only charged me for the replacement part with no service fees. My car has looked and functioned like new after their work. I would definitely return here in the future if needed. I am taking one star off because I did hear a few comments directed to women customers that annoyed me: "Smile!" (this may seem harmless, but do you demand that your male customers smile?) and "Wow, so many beautiful women here today!" After an accident, I got body work done on my Mitsubishi Mirage at Alex's and I'm so happy with my experience. The guys there did an AMAZING job and my car looks the same as when I first bought it. They also returned it to me in mint condition giving it a thorough cleaning job inside and out. Before going to Alex's I went to several body shops in the S. Philly area and had an unpleasant experience with all of them. As soon as I told them I was paying through insurance, they all saw nothing but dollar $ signs and tried to convince me that the damages were going to cost more than what my car was worth. It didn't help either that as a woman they thought that I didn't know anything about cars and could fool me with their sales pitch. I dealt with Jeff at Alex's and he was the complete opposite. He listened to my concerns and worked with me to repair my car with the money my insurance approved and didn't try to ask for more. He was FAIR and HONEST. I don't normally write reviews but I am beyond grateful to everyone at Alex's for my experience and I definitely would recommend everyone in the Philly area to save themselves the disappointment and just go to Alex's if you get into an accident. read more

Not only did they fix my car in record timing after a fender bender, but they also called my insurance company and dealt with them directly for me. Awful place of business. They should be reported to the better business bureau. My mom went to pick up her car and the lady at the front desk was giving her a hard time because her English is not perfect. The lady working there was rolling her eyes, speaking loudly, and talking down to my mother. Another reason why they're awful, it takes 15 minutes for a response. I called into ask of the total progress of the car. The lady at the front desk answers and put me on hold for a long time until I spoke to someone who knew what they were Talking about. This happened twice. Another reason. My trunk does not open anymore and they refuse to fix it. Also, my doors do not lock when I press the lock button from my car key. I'm surprised that they didn't take the coins out of my coin holder. Disrespectful people. read more

My SUV got banged up down in South Philly by a drunk driver last week. I brought my car over to Alex's auto body for an estimate. Not only was Peter (man I spoke with) upfront and personable, they also provided me with an estimate even though my husband came up to get the car & we did not get the work completed (as of yet). I got into a car accident a few months ago and my car was towed there, two todays days later after i got my insurance in order I gave the auto shop a call to let them know I dont want my car fix, they told me i can't because they already took everything apart and ordered the parts without my approval they took my car apart and ordered the parts. We took the car in after a collision last year. The car took 2 months to complete the repairs. The owners gave us minimal updates and information as to what was taking so long. Every time we called, they said they were "waiting for the computer guy". They were evasive in answering our questions and gave us attitude for asking about the status of our car. They had no sympathy for the fact that we were car-less and "waiting for the computer guy" for months. The customer service was the worst of any business I have ever had to deal with. read more
