Davan installed our new quartz countertops on 08/27/2025 after shopping around for several months. We ended up selecting quartz countertops from MSI. Some helpful hints based on our experience: 1. A big countertop dealer like MSI, located in Elk Grove Village, has a very large showroom where you can see the full countertop slabs. We had some preferences based on the web site pictures and the little quartz samples, but ended up selecting a different slab once we were in the showroom. You really want to see the full countertop slabs before your decision is finalized. 2. We were really disappointed with the Home Depot service, which is The Countertop Factory - Midwest. There was an extremely hard sell visit to our house and a take-it-or-leave it price. 3. Many quartz countertop installation services want you to select quartz they already have in stock. Davan let us shop around and we selected an MSI countetop, which MSI already had in stock. Our job therefore proceeded quickly from final slab selection to installation (less than two weeks). 4. I was unnecessarily nervous about our kitchen tile backsplash when our old formica countertops were replaced with new quartz countertops. We wanted to retain the old kitchen backsplash. That was not a problem and the installation occurred smoothly. read more

I rarely write reviews since it takes a great deal to impress me as far as customer service goes. However, I found Davan on Yelp after my original contact was completely uninterested in helping replace the granite top on my wet bar ---- I was told it was too small of a job. When I went out to look at the granite and quartz in Davan's warehouse, they were inviting, accommodating and helpful. Jay took so much time with me and our very unique piece to make sure everything was just right. Anna, was responsive with scheduling and I was impressed at every step. The installers were prompt, clean and careful. I ended up with quartz as a replacement because I loved the piece that Jay helped me find. I found a small kitchen island from Homedepot, but did not like the top. Found Davan Granite through a google search. Jarro (Jay) was the person I was working with. He worked with me on the size and found a remnant that perfectly matched my existing counter top. Once I assembled my island and called Davan I was ready, they came a day later! Great experience here. They were super helpful with all my questions prior to hiring them. We originally got quotes from Home Depot and it was SO much more expensive and with much worse reviews. I'm glad we didn't go with Home Depot. There were a couple snafus with install - our backsplash piece got delayed a week (nbd, they have a small team and someone was out). They said we could reinstall the plumbing in the meantime and that they could work around the faucet but then day of install they said they could not work around it. It was frustrating but we managed to remove the faucet ourselves and the rest of install went smoothly. Overall the work was great and final product looks awesome. read more

Davan just completed my kitchen countertop renovation and I am so pleased (it helps I have good taste). I shopped around on Yelp and had correspondence with Anna that was at a competitive price point, so I decided to visit the Franklin Park showroom on a day off from work. She was warm and efficient, even offered to show me where they do the actual fabrication. She scheduled my measurement appointment for 2 days later and ordered my MSI Quartz that evening with a deposit. It took a couple days for them to receive the slab. We exchanged emails and photos about the best configuration to match seams and have it come out exactly as I wanted. I was in Europe and Anna was super accommodating--even offering to FaceTime to explain. The countertop was installed about a week after I met with Anna. I am so pleased with the work Davan Granite did for our kitchen renovation. I knew exactly what I wanted in terms of stone selection, edges and finish; though I know marble is super porous and prone to etching, Anna and the team were still very insightful and provided us with exactly what we wanted, ensuring we knew all the pros and cons of the stone we chose (while also offering lots of great alternatives). The process for stone selection was fairly easy and once we had our slabs picked out, the team was very fast to get the slabs fabricated and installed! Once the counters were installed, they looked great! Some minor hiccups with measurements, but the team was quick to resolve those within the same day (overhang of the sill was too short so they quickly re-cut and sent the new piece out that same day). I found Davan on Yelp and was surprised by all the 5-star reviews (shills?) but gave them a shot anyway - when will I learn? Nobody is that good right? Right, they are not that good, but they charge just as much as everyone else nonetheless. My countertops look good enough to the casual visitor, but the install is not worth 5 stars. After all, it's the install you're paying for as the material is not that expensive. Anna was great over the phone and via email. The measurement guy was late but competent, if a little old school. The installers were late as well missing a 2 hour arrival window for a countertop install - not cool. Note that this is not my first countertop purchase. I have had Solid Surface, Quartz, Granite and even wood countertops in the past. The countertop fabrication from the Davan shop was just okay - not terrible, not great. The front edge of the slab is wavy when viewed from the side. This is usually a sign that they are not using the latest equipment when putting on the edge and polishing or are not great with the buffer. It also showed up with several small chips/pits (largely unavoidable in granite) that should have been filled first before getting to me. The seam in a long run is not as good as it could be and the face is not properly aligned with the intersecting piece leaving some of the unfinished edge showing because the rounded edge stops too soon. That's on the installers. Industry standards call for no more than 1/16" wide seams in granite, but most installers hit no more than 1/32". This one exceeds 1/16" in spots. This is not surprising since they did not use a vacuum seam setter to pull the slabs together but just had one guy push from one end (really?). When I questioned them on why they weren't using the proper setter gear they gave me some nonsense story about the cups leaving marks, and needing space for the epoxy - baloney. The seam is not the worst I've seen but could easily have been much better had they just used a machine you can buy for less than $500 to pull the pieces together. Before I could stop him, the installer used Liquid Nails underneath at the edges in the back!!! Not only will Liquid Nails crack with seasonal movement of the wood cabinets and be useless, it can can stain the granite from below due to being petroleum-based. Since he only put the tiniest of smears in the back corners under the cabinets after the stone was already in place, I am not too concerned. His lack of attention to detail saved him - lol. FYI, some of it has already cracked upon drying proving my point. Honestly, putting a bead of anything in the corner of a set stone countertop is worthless in terms of holding power anyway so why bother? They tried to use standard white latex caulk in the front to fill the inevitable gaps, but I stopped them. They then attached the very large under mount sink with only 5 lousy clips and a tiny bead of caulk (filled with water it would weigh 285 pounds!). They didn't even bother to caulk the inside gap where water will run off the counter. This was unacceptable but they didn't know how, or didn't want to make it right when I questioned them, so I just resigned myself to putting in more support later and doing a proper caulk job. They also failed to shim the thin strip of granite at the front of the sink which could lead to failure should someone lean on it too much in the future. I noticed it later when I leaned on it a bit and it flexed! I had to fix that too. Finally, they tried to attach the dishwasher from the sides by firing a drywall screw into the hardwood cabinet. Yeah, no. I stopped them before they split the wood on my brand new cabinet frames. i drilled pilot holes later and attached it properly. In 2020 there is no excuse for not learning best practices in a trade. These guys were not rookies, so good enough must be their mantra. Some might say it was an off day, but no, this is clearly how they work as they didn't want to modify their methods when I raised issues. But hey, they were nice. Thankfully, this is not my dream house or I would have stopped the install early on and been on the phone asking for better installers. It's sad you have to instruct contractors on how to do their jobs, but I guess that's where we are these days. As it is, the countertop looks just okay - hence 3 stars. I cannot recommend Davan. read more

Davan was very pleasant to work with and reasonably priced. I recommend their services and would use them again for future jobs. Anna was very friendly and quick to provide estimates and scheduling options for new Quartz kitchen countertops. She was also extremely flexible given the pandemic. She worked with us to find a weekend time that fit into our schedule to view the available slabs and sinks in their warehouse. The gentlemen who came to take measurements and remove/install the countertops were courteous and quick. My only critique is that the men weren't wearing masks during the installation. We also needed to add a seam to one of the slabs after making our deposit for two seamless, L-shaped slabs. Anna and Cristina were excellent at responding to information. Just to give you an idea how well - we had a delay of 2 months, and when we got back to them, the response was immediate. Follow up shows your job is important to them. The DG site is responsive, easy to search, and economical. Installation - within 1 week of order, coordination with installer, scheduling, delivery and professional equipment were all excellent. We tried for hours to remove the cabinet. Davan's technician agreed to try to remove the cabinet. It took a lot of work, but he got the cabinet out and only charged an small additional fee. I just can't say enough positive things about Anna and Davan. First, I was clamoring to find someone to install quartz countertops in my kitchen a week before I needed them due to poor planning on my part. My contractor had suggested a quartz company and had assured me that they were reasonably priced, so I didn't look into it any further. WRONG! The quote was very expensive and the quartz was some off-brand--no doubt from China--that neither I nor anyone I talked to later had heard of. So, I was left doing all the research I should have done before in the space of 2 days, so that install could occur the following week and my kitchen could be completed on time. This is where Anna at Davan comes in. I had contacted 3-4 companies and Davan was one of them. She responded to my e-mail inquiry very promptly. I submitted my plans, and she sent me a ballpark quote that same day. It was very reasonable and almost $2000 less than what I had been originally quoted, and very competitive if not slightly less than other quotes I had gotten. I decided to go with them because she was responsive and very detail-oriented. When it came time to schedule a proper measurement, she was able to get someone out to my house that same day! She reserved the quartz slabs I wanted and 5 days later, I had beautifully installed new quartz countertops! No issues from start to finish. I cannot thank them enough for their hard work! Kitchen remodels are challenging for lots of reasons, but one of the things I find most frustrating is that often everyone you deal with is trying to sell you something, and you might get 4 different answers to a single question. Davan Granite is a great choice when selecting a company to do your counter tops. Searching for a company is stressful...Anna at Davan made the process as stress-free as can be. I already knew what kind of counter top I wanted so this made the job even easier. I reached out to 5 different companies and some of these companies took a very long time to get back to me. Anna was very quick as I had a quote the same day I reached out and she didn't pressure me at all to sign a contract. Their prices are very good compared to all the other companies. A lot of companies are clearly over charging and getting away with it. Davan is not like that. They are very fair and reasonable. They scheduled someone to come measure and a week later, my counter tops were installed. I had back splashes of the same material as my counter tops going in but these could not be installed same day due to having to re-measure after the counter tops were installed and then going back to fabricate them. They were installed a few days later. No issue here for me but something to keep in consideration if you are doing a similar style. The two gentleman who installed were very nice and cleaned after themselves very well. At the end of the day, I have beautiful counter tops and a gorgeous back splash that I could not be happier with. Very disappointing experience I had it with Davan. I choose them based on good reviews here, but It turned out to be a huge mistake. The quality of install was very low. They came to measurements and used laser guided high tech stuff which I like. Plywood counters I had before were thicker than the quartz. They have used wood shims to lift the quartz and told me I can covered the gaps with shoe molding (like I am a master carpenter) left it that way. I tried to install shoe covers to gaps which you need to have table saw the cut perfect height otherwise drawers won't open and close. See attached. When I called Jay about the safety concerns he said that he will talk to the installer and call me back. It has been a week and nothing. So, me and a friend removed the shims and decided to close the gap between tiles and the counter with caulk. They also cut 1 3/8" hole for the faucet. I asked the installer and he said it is the industry standard. We had a hard time going thru with hoses not sure why It can't be 1 1/2? They were on time and measurements were accurate but install quality was not good at all. It seems to me the only person really knows what he is doing the guy who took the measurements unfortunately I couldn't catch his name. read more
