Any modicum of reading comprehension on her end would have avoided a lot of unnecessary back-and-forth and saved me 7 weeks of my time. -- I recently bought a pouf skin and wanted an insert to stuff it. I submitted a price quote request through her Contact form on her website, providing approximate dimensions of the pouf and two pictures. She responded asking what filling I wanted and suggested cotton. I agreed to the cotton, noting that I just wanted "something that allows you to sink into the pouf a bit while also having some bounce to it." She stated that she is "an expert at cresting inserts to serve" [sic] and asked for the dimensions of the pouf. I re-sent her the approximate dimensions. She then asked again what I wanted it stuffed with (even though I had already agreed to cotton) so I asked what the price differences were for different fillings. She replied with a bizarre email: "I cannot figure out how to satisfy your request. You are asking for something that isnt possible." She reiterated that solid cotton filling would be the best and that other "people will do exactly as you ask, and when you see it doesnt look great, theyll tell you too bad" [sic]. I replied asking why my request was impossible (I already agreed to cotton) and that I was honestly just happy to defer to her expertise. She said that it would be possible with cotton, to which I agreed FOR THE THIRD TIME, and I sent it off to her. TWO WEEKS later, she finally emailed me back to DOUBLE THE PRICE, claiming "I have used an entire bale of cotton and I need to use and additional half bale." [sic] (Keep in mind that a bale of cotton is defined to weigh 500 pounds, but the pouf is only slightly larger than a sofa cushion.) Regardless, I asked her for an estimate of the amount of cotton needed, to which she tersely replied, "Cotton is cotton. Do you want a refund?" I agreed to a refund because I didn't want to pay $350 to fill a pouf with cotton. I sent SIX EMAIL REMINDERS over three weeks, most without any response from her, to even get her to return my pouf and issue a refund.

I decided to go the reupholstering route and found Beatrice on Yelp. This sofa was originally pink brocade, stained, and reeked of cigarettes. Beatrice patiently guided me through fabric selection. She suggested I go to Mood Fabrics and told me I needed 16 yards of fabric. Honestly, the hardest part of this entire process was finding the fabric. Once I found something that would work, Mood delivered it directly to Beatrice. The sofa was also directly delivered to her workshop in Industry City. A week later, she'd reupholstered it and delivered it to my apartment, wedging it up my narrow stairs while rocking high heeled boots. Beatrice took an AptDeco score ($150!) from 60s to timeless quickly and inventively. It is now a stunning red velvet. The seat cushion is that perfect balance between firm and comfortable. And she creatively hooked the seat cushion to the sofa frame so it doesn't slide off. The sofa is beautiful-- truly the sofa of my dreams. And Beatrice made it happen.

Honestly, I thought the only thing to be done with this couch was to throw it away. But in THREE days, these guys removed the upholstery, sewed new upholstery, then applied it.
