I can't comment on the sales, but the shoe maintenance/repair is high quality and reasonably priced. I've been going here for 11 years. A comment on the hours: Family. Run. Business. Not a soulless chain. One person is there for all these hours and that's it. Exactly the kind of place I want to patronize and I am perfectly happy respecting work-life balance in others. I am not that spoiled American who wants 24/7 and gets crappy quality. They were comfortable, but much to my disappointment, the soles had zero traction and I was certain I'd slip and fall if I wore them out of the house. Al re-soled them for around $35 (if memory serves) during the week of Thanksgiving in 2025 in around 3 days. The soles look seamless and no one would be able to tell that they weren't the originals. They have solid traction on the ground and I am happy to report that I have not slipped once.

If I had an industrial sewing machine, I could have done it myself - it seemed to be a real simple repair. I was stopped at a light, noticed this repair shop in a strip mall and thought "Why not, I'm sick of carrying this shoe around with me." The person at the counter told me "No problem, come back in a few hours and your shoe will be ready". His cost, $5.00 or $10.00 at the most. Later on in the day, I returned, and much to my surprise, instead of restiching, the shoe repairman, had replaced my soft baby grey suede shoe with a new strap in Black Patent Leather! And then he had the audacity to tell me the cost would now be 20 bucks because so much more work went into the repair. He did save my cut offed original strap, so hopefully I can find another shoe guy to fix his screw up. Moral of this story, read the yelp reviews before you venture into uncharted territory.

Told me what was wrong and to take them back to the shoe hospital and have them fix it, then bring them back to him so he could shine them. I asked what it would cost if he stripped them down and he said verbatim, "I don't want to inherit other peoples problems." Very interesting comment, I mean, I thought that's what he does is fix peoples shoes. I guess if you're not a long time customer or brought your shoes to him from the beginning, or whatever his lofty criteria is to work on your shoes, I apparently didn't meet his upper echelon bar. I don't mind the truth and honest assessment that someone jacked up my shoes. I'm willing to pay for great work, which he seems to do, but outright dismissing me because he didn't like what some other place did and take it out on me? That's some BS right there. Again, isn't that what you do? You're literally in business to repair shoes. Not sure he got that memo. His attitude seems to be that he's the only person in Houston capable of doing shoes. It was an older bag so I went with the cheaper option. I told him they could take their time and I wasn't in a rush, but I got it back just a few days later. I told my mom about them and she gave me a belt to bring to them to put an extra hole in there. They were able to do it on the spot within minutes and hand it back to me right away. This was only $5!
