Not what I thought but I came to see what the fuss was about and there wasn't much fuss with the over baked French toast! No need for a box for this one they can feed to the trash and help feed one of the many stray alley dogs. Service 10/10 no dish to the staff or cooker great sides and other dishes I'm sure. All is good in this restaurant. First, the place is big and spacious, it is clean and spotless and customer service is great! The staffs in here are friendly pays attention to details and attentive too. It is not my first time to visit this place and as far as I remember I've been coming in here since I was younger which I missed and only now is my first time to visit them after a long while. The atmosphere in this place is also nice. When it comes to their menu, they have a variety of different selection of breakfast and brunch selection at fair and reasonable prices. The food is served quickly. I ordered a Mexican skillet and pancakes for sides. I also wanted to share that the food in here has a nice portion and of course delicious. I definitely love their Mexican skillet and all I can say is it is so good, perfectly seasoned and definitely full of flavor until the last bite I had and the pancakes are perfect. This is so far one of the best spot for breakfast I know in this area. Everything in here is great from their food to their service and parking in here is easy as a pie. I thought this place seemed similarly to almost golden nuggets but half the cost.I thought this place had a comfort charm to it from looking at the menu photos on yelp before going in.But boy i was mistaken.My sister mentioned this place to me and we decided we will meet for brunch with my father.It looked very nice but when i first walked in there wasnt any comfort or a greeting.Just tables full of people and people waiting in wooden chairs and benches.It looked and felt packed.This congested feeling and anger with a touch of attitude from people wanting people to finish their food at a table.My sister suggested we should continue waiting and they told my father ,the wait is 10 to 15 mins(side note was a lie).The seats were taken up and parties of people who werent called shift into the empty seats of people whom moved.My father and i stood waiting and another customer was kind enough to offer his chair to me.But thank him and told him ill give the seat to my mother.My sister and her fiancee finally came in and we continued waiting.They were calling numbers out either too softly or overly louded.They (meaning the women at the front desk) skipped over my father's number.My father got up and walked to the desk.They informed him that my father is suppose to let them know when his "party was all here".How rude?Isn't that also is suppose to be their job?. The place was overly loud and overly booked with people.I was more appalled at the Waitress. This is a great family run place and never disappoints. It has become a weekend morning ritual to go and have breakfast together with my wife there. Reasonable prices and solid portions of well cooked food. The serve staff is so friendly and the kitchen is very fast. I really enjoy the Southern Benedict. I know there are dozens of breakfast places in the area, but you will find that tis place will become one of your favorites if you give it a try. My sister-in-law and I have been here many, many times before and everything was always okay-ish. Today was totally different. We were seated quickly. That was the only quick thing about our lunch today. We each ordered a patty melt and a drink. The drinks came, and there was a bug in my sister-in-law's drink. After what seemed like forever, we finally got the server's attention, and about 15 minutes later the drink was replaced. The food took so long for some reason that the party next to us (that was there a good 30 to 45 minutes AFTER us and at least four times our size) had already been served and were finishing up when our food finally came out. To my surprise, my patty melt was served with a disgusting blob of dried jelly from a previous diner on the plate. When I pointed it out to the server, she gave me a dubious, "Well . . . I could TRY to get you a clean plate." Seriously????? A clean plate is a big deal???????? I told her never mind, just give me a box. I couldn't eat it after seeing how dirty the dishes were. My dogs did appear to enjoy it, though. Then my sister-in-law asked for a box for her leftovers -- twice. She was ignored -- twice. I got up to get her a box and got yelled at by the waitstaff. So, I think that was our last trip there. It's not worth getting served drinks with livestock in it; food served on filthy plates; and being harangued for attempting to get a leftover box -- all the while waiting well over an hour for two simple patty melts! Service The service is so fast that I have a suspicion they use black magic to get the food out so quickly. I routinely order omelettes, pancakes, or scrambled egg sandwiches, which take 5-7 minutes from the end of ordering it to it arriving on the table. My decaffeinated coffee mug is always being filled or topped off, too. Quality Sure, you're thinking if the food is fast that it's not good. Wrong! The food tastes perfect. The portion sizes are always proper, as well. Price The menu items are appropriately priced. They are priced at amounts that keep me coming back, week after week. Ambiance If you're interested in fireplaces and being serviced by several workers, eat at a restaurant that charges $18/plate; it's your call. This is a local restaurant with great appeal. The owners are pleasant, positive, which makes the environment inviting. It's clean, neat, and the decor looks good. This breakfast and lunch restaurant is a must try. You will not regret it! Berwyn? Alexanders is a "Greek Restaurant" in a meteropolitan area loaded with Greek Restaurants. I decided to stop in to grab breakfast before departing on an airplane flight. The exterior and interior is basic diner, a lot of elderly people shuffling in and out which to me indicates large portions at decent prices. The menu is typical for that of Greek Restaurants, a variety of omelettes, pancakes, breakfasts, sandwiches and suppers. I went with the sausage and cheese omlette with fried potatoes and wheat toast, my friend had a special with potato pancakes, eggs over easy and bacon. My omlette was quite good, very nice fluffly egg, properly cooked with cheese and diced sausage. Only bad part is that they used American cheese which has a waxy mouthfeel. Cheddar would have been better. The potatoes were thinly sliced and fried so that there were a lot of crisp pieces, which I love. Orange juice was fresh squeezed. My freinds potato pancakes were a little thicker than what I am used to, but still very good, nice clean flavor with a hint of onion. The cost of two breakfasts was 19 dollars. This is a good place to go for breakfast or lunch, clean environment, good solid food and good service. You could do worse.... read more

Since they reopened the prices seem to be higher,silverware and dinnerware and cups that they use now seem to be cheaper made quality the Reuben is not good anymore it seem like they changed the way they make it the breakfast food is still halfway decent but seems like they tweak some stuff in the wrong way I wish everything would have been the same before they were remodeled service is not as good as it used to be. Maybe I got spoiled during the year I lived in Chicago, but Alexanders didn't really impress me. Sure, we were seated right away (it was a weekday, so I would hope that would be the case)! Sure, our food came out quickly. But at the end of the day, I would only describe the experience as "A-OK." Once we were seated, we had to wait maybe five minutes before anyone dropped by our table. We were thirsty, so this irked me a little. She dropped off a water carafe, so we served ourselves with water. When the water ran out, it took quite some time for her to notice and refill it. We ordered and our food came out not too long after. I couldn't decide if this was good because we were hungry or bad because that means they didn't put that much time into it. I got the bacon pancakes and I was disappointed by the dough to bacon ratio. There was barely any bacon! I will definitely stick to my bacon pancakes from another local brunch place. Despite my disappointment about the bacon pancakes, I have nothing against Alexanders. I love how convenient it is and I'm sure I'll be back at some point for that fact alone. There was also nothing truly offputting about the food; this is your standard local brunch fare. The staff was also very friendly, which I appreciated. I've been coming here for over 10 years. It's my go to diner. The restaurant is located on a corner. There's parking available on the side as well as in the front. They do close early(4pm) and weekends are packed but the wait isn't too long. The owners are wonderful people. The wife is usually in the front greeting and seating people. The daughter is a waitress. The husband is in the kitchen calling out the food and also walks around talking with customers. My brother is in town from Texas and he wanted breakfast. We arrived around 11:15am on a Saturday and no wait. They sat us right away. A waitress walks around asking if anyone would like coffee. She gave us time to look over the menu and came back 10 mins later to take our order. I ordered a tuna melt and fries. It came with a choice or salad or soup. I love their soups so I asked for chicken noodle. A fews minutes later, she came with a complimentary basket of crackers and a roll. The bowl of soup is very large. I didn't get a chance to finish because 5 mins after I received my soup, our food arrived. We were shocked as to how fast the service was. The fries were a little over done and what's great is no salt on them. It was delicious and as my brother had said, "IHOP and Denny's has nothing on this place." You really can't go wrong. They have a lot of options if you don't want breakfast. read more
