I was not impressed with either the service or the food at this establishment. I was not greeted with any pleasantries when I went up to the counter to place my order, the girl actually seemed aggravated to have to take the order at all. My gyro had a small portion of dry over cooked meat, and I saw the "cook" open a small jar of pre- made processed tzatziki sauce when I asked for more sauce because my gyro had such a small amount on it. My husband's steak and cheese was dry and "just average" as he put it, my son's French fries were bland and under seasoned, we probably would have been better off picking up some prepared food at a local grocery store, we did not try the pizza so I cannot comment on that read more

Starved after a day of exploring old cemeteries with my friend, we stopped here so I could get something to eat. I super appreciated the outward-facing menu board so that I could see what was offered (and prices) before stepping inside. Upon entering, there was a kiosk where you could place your order (dine in was not available, but I didn't care about that). I was a little annoyed that I couldn't order a ham Italian, that I had to specify what goes on it-- I kind of expect when I order a ham Italian anywhere in the state it's going to have ham, cheese, tomato, green pepper, pickle, onion, and black olives, but I had to request all of those. They tout it as "made to order" but like... that's what an Italian *is* you know? Mild annoyance at the ordering process aside (the gentleman that took my order was very nice) my sandwich came out quickly and was very tasty (it tasted like an Italian should). read more

We stopped into Alexia's on Sat. around 7pm on our way back to Boston. The place was pretty busy and filling up quickly. You order at the counter, then sit and wait for your pizza. Its a good sized pizza shop--Nothing fancy and full of families and young people. The service was friendly and quick. We ordered a small Greek pizza special which had spinach, garlic, tomatoes, Kalamata olives and feta cheese. It was delicious and big enough for the two of us to share. The pizza is deep dish style--not thin crust pizza. The place was busy so it took a while to get our pizza (20-25 mins or so)--not to bad. Over all very tasty and cheap! read more

Great stop for dinner on our road trip through Maine, went here on a whim as we saw the city from the highway and thought it looked like a nice place to stop. Wow, this place pulled us in from the street because it just smelled so good. Ordered a large Greek pizza and a side of mozzarella sticks. Alexias is a family favorite. It's a great place to stop with a group of friends while walking through town or before going to see a movie. Popular hangout or meet up spot for teens, but also is a quiet fun spot to enjoy a slice of pizza. They offer single slices, and I definitely recommend the meatball sub. We often get takeout as well, it makes a good quick option for a Friday night, they sell drinks and chips to go with it. Don't forget to try the breadsticks! read more

Best cheese pizza I ever had and I probably wouldn't have thought to get pizza in Maine if not for my son's pizza obsession! All we eat in Maine is seafood (of course) but my son had me wanting pizza so we got one to go and it was delicious! I also thought their prices were good and their service was great. I ordered the buffalo chicken fingers and expected a side salad and french fries as said on the menu and the online menu. To our dismay, there was neither a salad or french fries. One of two places in Belfast to get pizza. Das other business is more costly and Alexia's is more affordable.There might be other good pizza places but Belfast eating spots can be costly. Most pizzas in Maine appear to be sold at gas stations and family run pizza parlors are an uncommon delight. This said Alexia's used to be a five star but I think the combination of adding too much cheese and das new oven (not their fault) brings it to a four. read more

Well to start things off found a bagel tie in my bacon burger and when brought back they said nothing like that could have happened plus no refund. The price was really cheap as I'm used to NYC prices, but I see why they say you get what you paid for. This pizza was definitely frozen pizza. I make pizza and it never looks or tastes the way their's does. I didn't see anyone stretching dough as people were ordering pies. That leads me to believe that something is frozen. Also, they need to take pride in their appearance. This place looks like a dump. Everything looks grungy and dirty. Paint the place and clean up after customers. The floor was filled with crumbs. My wife and I stopped in here last night after a trip down to Marshall Wharf Brewery. We were seriously just looking for a place with cheap food and, more importantly, a bathroom. I must say, we were very happy with our decision. We split a large pizza with bacon and artichoke hearts. They used FULL strips of bacon and a hearty amount of artichoke. We just polished off the leftovers for lunch (and it was just as good as last night). We were also struck by the number of non-tourists (i.e. locals) in the shop. My sister ordered pizza and spaghetti with chicken. It was a busy night, so a wait was expected. The pizza came out in about 30 minutes, and they said the rest of their food would be out soon. After 45 minutes my sister went to check on the spaghetti. The woman working the counter said it was pretty busy back there. After an hour, my sister went up again and they said it would be out in 2 minutes. It finally came out about 10 minutes later. It just seems as though the employees are SO unhappy and unwilling to waver from the printed menu. If you ask them to make a pizza a certain way that is not on the board, they look at you like you have two heads. They seem to be unfamiliar with ingredients and were obviously thrown into their jobs with little training. We just had a late lunch at Alexia's on a Saturday around 2pm and everything was great. We ordered (a small half-and-half pizza) and there were plenty of seats to be found. The wait time was only about 15-20 minutes. The pizza was cooked perfectly -- the spinach was not wilted and the feta was not burnt! The small was enough for the two of us to finish in one sitting without any extra to take home. I would gladly order from here again. read more
