In Belfast tonight and not many places open past 8pm. We were here to check out the city. Visited a brewery that did not even have proper bathrooms. Then stumbled upon an outdoor concert that was amazing. We needed to eat before we headed back to Searsport and found this place. Even though they were short on Waite staff service was amazing and food was delicious and quick to the table. Thank you for making the ending to our day enjoyable. read more

I went because of the recommendations on food and atmosphere. I was the first one to enter on a weekday at 11 AM. Upon entering, two ladies were busy talking and reading the newspaper and made no effort to seat me. I had to ask to be seated. I had the rueben sandwich which had a large amount of home made corned beef. However, the sandwich was soggy because they had not drained the sauerkraut. It was a crap night and I just wanted something edible. Imagine my surprise when I got really good food! I ordered potato skins and their chicken nuggets. Holy cow, they were both good. The nuggets are supposedly house made, and they tasted like it. Quality chicken and a nice breading. The potatoes were large and cooked to perfection. They were too much to finish, as were the nuggets. I consider that a slam dunk. The person who took my order over the phone was so sweet and kind. So, my husband had wanted to try this place...so on his day off we made the trip to Belfast for lunch. We arrived about 1:30...past the rush, but tables had not been cleared. We were to seat our selves...so we just chose the least nasty table and sat down. There appeared to be only one server. Not a good sign. Anyway, she blew past us several times. I finally said excuse me...after she cleared the table behind us...a couple who came in about 5 minutes after we sat down...anyway, she blew me off with a wave of her hand and mumbled she'd get there. Thankfully the menus are already at the table, so we had plenty of time to decide. When the server returned and cleared the table she eventually asked if we'd like something to drink. We said yes, ordered and said we'd like to start with fried pickles. No comment or acknowledgment, she turned and walked away. Our drinks were delivered and shortly thereafter the pickles arrived. They were OK. Not crispy...slightly greasy...just OK. We placed our lunch order when the pickles arrived. I had the Ruben and my hubby had the blue cheese burger. I had onion rings and he had fries. Had the best fish and chips in my life. The service was great. The owner was there but I couldn't tell who was the actual owner because everyone was doing such a great job. The only thing that I have for a negative is the booths are really small and are hard to sit in. Next time I will just sit at a regular table. read more

Rollies is a great spot and seems like it's full of locals which is a great sign. Seating can be really tricky. It's seat yourself and the space is very tight. One big table down the middle with some small booths. The service was quick given how busy it was, but it did take a while for someone to actually come see us. The food was fantastic. My husband had a wrap and I had the Reuben - one of the best Reuben's I've had. The hand cut fries were great too. I'd definitely recommend eating here. read more

We come every summer to Belfast to visit family and this was the first time we got a chance to pop in. The staff are so friendly and kind, the atmosphere was awesome it kind of reminds me of a Belfast version of Cheers! The food was delicious- highly suggest checking out their specials. We had a delicious spicy fried chicken sandwich with fresh fries - curly and farm stand(thick steak cut fries). Clean place, tons of t.v's to watch a game and great drink selection. They play classic rock music which is fitting for the place, but it is very loud and hard to have a conversation. Our waitress was very kind and helpful. Let's talk food, don't expect a chef cooking, definitely only cooks. Ordered the pretzel bites with cheese, pretzels were definitely from the freezer and the cheese came from a can. I ordered the Mexican burger with fresh cut fries, burger was not fresh, definitely from the freezer and could have used some kind of sauce on it it was dry. The fries are frozen shoe string fries that they call fresh cut. The person with me got the chicken ceaser wrap with spicy fries. The wrap was mostly wrap and very little filling and the fries are just frozen curly fries with light seasoning on them. I have definitely had better bar food at other places. Skip the food but go for a drink, watch the game and listen to the music, especially if you don't fed like having conversations with your friends. read more

We have been coming to Rollies for over a decade and this used to be our regular Sunday lunch spot. Unfortunately over the past several years Rollies has been in a bit of a decline. The food is mediocre. I keep adjusting my selection but nothing is really good. Nothing on the menu brings me back. Last visit I got the Rolliean Philly Cheese steak and while it looked good it tasted like someone got carried away with the salt shaker. Very salty. Onion rings looked good and were nice and hot but lacked flavor. This meal was consistent with experiences over the past couple of years. My husband's complaint is that the beer list would have been great 15 years ago but lacks anything to make you say "wow, what a great selection of local beers". And there are plenty of local breweries nearby. On the plus side, the service is good and the patrons are an older, nice crowd. It's a place comfortable for anyone, any age. If you're looking for a place that can serve a good sized group this can be your spot. Nice big parking lot out back. read more

Friday afternoon in summer with a staff shortage as mentioned on an overhead chalkboard. After ordering for a table of 4, we waited 75 minutes for our food to be delivered. This would not have been as annoying if the waitress had said when we sat down that food might take up to an hour, or if she had checked in during the 75 minutes. She did stop by the table after about 65 minutes to say they were working on our food now. And she did take $5.00 off the bill because we had to wait. After all that everyone said the food was just ok. We had haddock sandwich, Turkey cranberry wrap and an undercooked burger. Pretty sure next time, I will put up with a 20 minute wait for a table at Darby's around the corner. read more

I needed a spot to watch my beloved NFL team on Thursday Night Football, and luckily this spot delivered and had the game on because there's not a lot of other options. Here's the good and the bad: The craft beer prices were so insanely low that I thought I had an error on my bill. That's good! The hard-rock, Limp Bizkit style 90's music playing over the playoff baseball and Thursday Night Football was barely tolerable. That's bad. The servers were very friendly AND sympathetic when my teams quarterback went down to what looked like a serious injury. That's good! The food menu was dramatically overpriced. That's bad. So like anything, it all kinda balances out and the low beer prices were the definite highlight. This is a nice bar. Most importantly if you are planning to eat later than 8 pm there are not a lot of places that serve food. However, Rollie's is serving food till 9:30 pm I believe. My boyfriend and I were visiting on the weekend and we did not know that all places stopped serving food so early, we were so happy when we found Rollie's Bar. They have tasty food. The portions are huge. My boyfriend ordered a starter and it was huge, the size was as for the main dish. Everyone in the bar was friendly, we liked the atmosphere there. Rollie's provided a decent stop while in Belfast. We stopped in for lunch and half 2 if the Chelsea v Leicester game. August Sunday and as busy as expected. Virtually every table was full, many with 6 to 10 people. The crowd was mixed, some eating lunch, while others were having appetizers and bloody Mary's. Our table had a Caesar salad with chicken, a bowl of clam chowder, mini lobster roll sandwiches, and chicken bites. Everything was good, just good, not great, and nothing to complain about. Given that it is a weekend in the summer, expect service to be slow, and it was pretty slow. However the experience of the restaurant was pretty good, the crowd was lively, and it had a vacation vibe to it. Luckily for us, the soccer game was in fact on TV. However the feed kicked out every six seconds and the screen went black which was rather annoying. Nonetheless, this is a fun restaurant and worth a stop if you're in Belfast. read more

We've been summering in Maine for more than 20 years owning a cottage here for most of that time. We've made it a tradition to come Rollies when we arrive. I cut them a break during Covid. Things were tough... help was scarce as was business. But here we are in 2023 and there's only 3 things at Rollies that's improved... the worthless cheap plexiglass between booths is gone, they are no longer using disposables to serve food on and there is a decent selection of beer. The food and service, not so much. The food is amateurish at best and the service was totally lacking. How can a bar not be working to keep beer glasses full? Is it the management or the help? Rollie's is the real deal in Belfast. The environment is casual, like an old-timey pub with workers coming straight from the docks to grab a beer after work. The food was tasty and came in large portions - we split the Thai wings, chicken quesadilla, and potato "pub" skins between three of us for dinner and it was just the right amount. Service was super friendly, they were pretty crowded but our waitress was very attentive and kept our glasses full. Highly recommend for any visitors looking to eat like the locals! read more

Ah-mazing! First time visiting. Great beer selection!! We could see as we walked up that they were busy but still greeted right away and asked what we wanted to drink. It took a few minutes for our order to be taken but very understandable considering how busy! Food.... we ordered sweet Thai wings to start and they were delicious(spicy)!!! They were nice and crispy but still having that juice from the pickle, and I'm from Snooki's state so you know I've had some good ones. The fish and chips were great!
