This used to be our favorite diner. Would go there almost every weekend for breakfast but the last 3 times we have gone there the meal has not been good at all and the service has been awful. Every place has their bad days but now this seems to be the norm for them. I must say the service has never really been that great here anyways but their good food always made up for it and kept us coming back. In the many years we have been going there though I don't think ever once has a waitress ever offered to refill my coffee, and when you ask they always seem bothered that you asked them. Who knows maybe they are told not to fill coffee unless the customer asks. As for our food the last three times it has been quite bad. The corned beef hash was burnt to a charcoal black mess. This happened on two separate occasions. Not sure how a cook would even think that was acceptable to send out. Their home fries are completely flavorless. Their fried fish sandwich tasted like something out of the freezer isle and the french toast was really dry and flavorless. Oh well I guess its time to move on. read more

We went to Alexis today for lunch. I ordered the Texas Burger. The meat patty on my burger was as big as what you may expect on a McDonalds' cheese burger. After discussing this with the lady running the register, she did not seem concerned. After spending $10.00 for this burger, I was very unhappy with Alexis' Diner. I have dined here a few times, given the decent reviews I figured perhaps my first two visits were just rare. NO, I met a client there, the waitress was not friendly or attentive, and when I asked her to return my burned omelet, her nasty attitude grew more aggressive and she refused to sent it back to the cook stating this is how he always cooks his omelets therefore I'm the one with the issue. My client was so appalled, HE demanded to speak with management, and they did end up reluctantly comping our bill, which is the reason for the one star. Never again. read more

Worst dining experience. The food was not edible and the service was terrible. I had to ask for water 3 times before getting it. After being told my special request could not be honored, I was served soupy hash from a can that was not close to edible. read more

Walked out!! It is Greek Night, so one would think at 5:00pm all the specials would be available, right? My husband ordered a Greek Platter, our daughter the children's quesadilla, our son chicken tenders, and I ordered the moussaka. We received our drinks and soups and everything seemed fine. Then, a random waitress comes over, not our waitress and says the moussaka is all gone. However, the table that arrived 10 minutes after us, both people received a hefty portion of moussaka. This was highly irritating because the last two visits this same thing happened to me while trying to order an evening special. Then, we decided as a family that mommy should get what she wants because the last two times I did not. I tell the lady at the check out what happened and she looked at me dumbfounded and said, we did not run out of moussaka. Then, says to the waitress your table is leaving. It was like no one cared that they made a mistake and 4 customers got up and were leaving. The lady at the counter did not apologize, nor show any regret. Just like whatever! This must happen all the time and they are use to it. We will NEVER go back! read more

Okay food, nothing out of the ordinary for a diner. The wait staff has been consistently off-putting the entire time I've been coming here (every few months for four years now). I've never been made to feel like I was inconveniencing a waiter for getting what I ordered like I have been here. read more

This diner used to be good but recently a girlfriend of mine and I met for dinner and ill admitt it was 45 mins before they were closing but once we say down the waitress said we could only pick a fee things because they're closing soon and I've worked in the food industry and we've taken tables fifteen mins before we've closed and never limited anyone to certain things on the menu then when we were finishing up our waitress was pretty much rushing us out the door and brought out check before asking if we wanted anything dessert. My second bad experience was today when I ordered pick up. I figured id give them another chance but I'm not going to sit down to leave a rude waitress a tip . I ordered a simple blt sandwich with extra bacon .... Since blts never come with enough I wanted to make sure I was getting my bang for my buck. I got home and opened my food yoo notice no extra bacon and barley three pieces. There was so much unripe tomatoes on it and just was horrible I'm so disappointed and still very hungry . read more

Put simply! Awesome eats... Breakfast, lunch, or dinner you won't be disappointed.

This place gets a third star for quick service. Food seems to be the standard diner fare. It's not outstanding but it won't leave you hungry due to the lumberjack sized portions. Note: I'm only rating this based on breakfast. I had the Greek omelet which included gyro meat, feta, and tomato and like I said, I didn't need to eat lunch after that. They do a serious business especially on weekends. read more

Terrible service! Started out with a very friendly hostess but went down from there. My wife and I stopped for breakfast and the diner was very busy. We only ordered coffee and a muffin to start, and scrambled eggs and an omelette for breakfast. After 25 minutes we almost walked out but finally the breakfast arrived. The toasted bread was limp, but the eggs and potatoes were acceptable. Coffee was a served in a nice large mug and was good. However, when I finally stopped the waitress for more coffee she actually reached over the mini wall to pour our coffee. I expected the young man at checkout to ask about our experience and I was going to mention the problems. However, to my amazement he didn't say anything. Alexis is a good breakfast spot. The service is usually pretty quick and the food exactly what you would expect for a breakfast diner. I always order the meat lover's skillet... fried potatoes are mixed with chunks of ham, sausage and bacon and topped with fried (over easy) eggs and some cheddar cheese. Really the serving is enough for two people and it's filling enough that you can skip lunch. Best to arrive for breakfast before 9 a.m., especially on a Sunday. It fills up fast after that and there will be a wait. read more

I used to love Alexis so when I moved closer I thought it would be great to be able to go there more. After 4 chances I have decided not to try again. The last time I went the waitress was her usual self in that she doesn't smile at all (short gray hair, been there forever). That didn't bother us too much before because she was fairly efficient and the food was great, but lately that doesn't hold anymore. The food has been mediocre at best (do they have a new cook?) but even when I mentioned to the young man that she had not been back to my table for the bill for 15 minutes he just shrugged and said he'd get her. I had even mentioned that she was walking out, talking, standing there, then would turn around and go back in the kitchen. He seemed to be the manager, possibly the owner's son? Needless, there was no apology and still no one was in a hurry to get back to me. Finally she came over and I was going to give them a last chance when I paid, but of course she cashed me out. I'm taking that as a sign to not go anymore. Sad, I used to tell everyone how much we loved it there. read more

I went there for the first time about a month or two ago, and it was pretty good, not great great, but good. The reason I went there is that commercial with the guy with the accent saying "Come a see why" ....or something like that. Anyway we went back yesterday, and as we pull in, the place is packed. Sunday morning around 9-ish. We get seated IMMEDIATELY, by the same guy in the commercial, only he is probably 10 years older, so that was funny. I ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict, wife got French toast, eggs, and like 2 pounds of bacon, sausage , and hash browns. My crab cake eggs Benedict was THE BEST breakfast I have ever eaten, it was "Better than sex good", if you catch my drift. The wife said the French toast was the best French toast she ever had. And we are old, so we have been dining out for decades. the food came out pretty quick, the waitress was good, she was very busy, but we didn't have to wait on the bill, which drives me up a wall. Only thing I dinged her on was I needed more water and had to steal half of my wife's. It WAS busy, but perhaps they could have used another waitress. Everything else was great. Place was very clean, inside and out. By the time we left there was a 15 minute wait. Definitely going back, it's our new breakfast spot now !! read more

Diner food is diner food, What makes it a good experience is the service, and our service was less than mediocre. Upon being seated we waited quite a while and finally flagged down a waitress who located our waitress. Ordered a sandwich and a burger, and it took at least 25 minutes to get to our table. Waitress had her arms full of dishes, so she kind of flung ours at us and left without asking if we had everything we wanted. Ate the mediocre food - the sauteeed onions on the burger were tough, ick, and it was very greasy . No one came by to check on us, so after eating what we could we went up to the register to find our check. Waitress walked by and tossed it n the counter and that was the end of that. When my husband told the man at the register the service was poor he just kind of shrugged and might have mumbled sorry (but we couldn't hear him). Won't be going back here any time soon. read more

Love this place. I go understanding this is not fine dining. But great for a substantial meal without breaking the bank.l Companion and I stopped in Sunday afternoon. We were seated upon our arrival. I will admit, the server was a bit of an air head, but we were in no hurry so we let that pass. We started with both of the soups,beef barley and chicken tortelini. But were hot and obviously made there, not out of a can or mix. Salads were fine, but one halved grape tomato? That couild have been left off the plate. For entrees compaion ordered maple glazed pork and I had half roast chicken with dressing, mashed potatoes and green beans. For $11.99, the price is hard to beat. At the end of the meal, we realized no rolls were served. Not that we missed them until we were leaving. Mentioned this and the scattered service at the register and the young lady replied, "What? You want some to take home?" Explained it was a comment to perhaps pay closer attention to customer service. We laughed about it on the way home. WQE had a good meal and we were entertained. Very disappointed. My fiancé and myself visit Alexi's almost every Sunday, and my fiancé goes for breakfast almost everyday! We've had minor issues with the service in the past but nothing close to what occurred today... I ordered the Alexi Steak burger cooked medium with fries from Patricia C (stated on check). I was under the assumption that my burger came with some kind of cheese (never encountered a burger that didn't unless it was stated "hamburger") especially since I wasn't offered the option when I placed my order. I received my burger and then realized there was no cheese, and asked for American. Instead of taking my untouched burger back to melt the cheese, I received a cold slice on a side plate. I decided to deal with it, but within my two first bites realized my, what was supposed to be, medium burger was well done. I sent it back and Then ordered a turkey club and got the check. The bill seemed correct until a $.65 charge caught my eye for the cheese on the burger I didn't eat... And I also observed her being pretty pushy and rude to a sweet elderly couple trying to settle into their chairs when she couldn't get by with food. She must be a family member of Alexi to feel she can do as she pleases without reprocutions, very snooty and miserable. Extremely disappointed and discouraged from returning. read more
