If you're looking for a diner with good food, friendly service, and a large menu, this is your spot! The Pilgrim Sandwich - a turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce and stuffing on a hard roll - is always a great choice, as is the Chicken Philly sandwich. Ask for jalapeños on it if you like a little heat - you won't be disappointed! If you come on a weekend, you'll likely have to wait a little bit, but it's worth the wait! With their massive menu, there's something for everyone!

    Egg shells in my omelette.

Overly DISAPPOINTED in our Uber delivery. The food arrived, and I was excited to eat it after waiting 2 HOURS...then when I ate my omelette I bit eggshell. Then as I looked through the omelette there was MORE eggshells! I closed the container and gave up. The careless behavior is uncalled for and this place should be embarrassed they have a cook who gives ZERO cares about shells in their omelets.

Solid diner meal in Rensselaer. Wide open parking leads up to a glass and silver ornamented diner. There's a counter with TV's. Inside the staff is in a state of disarray. Kitchen crew were serving food to tables, while waitresses chatted it up at the bar. The menu is well laid out, mostly burgers and wraps, salads and pasta and meat dishes. It's a 'Greek'-diner. My burger was cooked fine but the bread bun was brittle. The onions were fresh but not sautéed. My waitress totally forgot my drink. Alexis needs a REAL manager or maitre'd during the day to oversee staff/kitchen! Review: 4

Scrambles eggs and 2 Eggs with Home Fries and Toast

The fried potatoes/home fries are mushy potatoes. They're barely browned and taste like mush. This is not home fries. Please do better. Very disappointing.

Biscuit and gravy has great flavor and big chunks of sausage.

Great food and less costly than the others. Fantastic and quick service as well. My "Loaded Bowl" was quite tasty by itself, but a side of sausage gravy on top made it perfect! The Mrs. had the veggie bowl and it was satisfying but as usual it was too much for her to finish. No complaints on that...Coffee was good and my cup never made it to empty. Two minor quirks: My wife likes flavored creamer and they didn't have any. Also it's cash only -- they have an ATM in the front. I'm happy that my review will raise their star ratings. Since that, it went downhill. The server took our drink and food order. I didn't get my coffee without asking twice for it, even though they brought 2 iced lattes that another member of our party ordered. Then we watched for 20 minutes as people that came in multiple parties after us got their food and we had nothing. Then she brought 3 out of 4 meals. My girlfriend ordered the special Raspberry Nutella French Toast. It came with strawberries and we were told, "we're out of raspberries so we substituted strawberries." That is total BS. How about telling us you are out of raspberries and asking if we want something else. My girlfriend can't really eat strawberries since they make her break out. Even worse is I STILL didn't have my food. Server said, "yours is coming, but I didn't want these to get cold." After the rest of my party was halfway done with their breakfast and I still didn't have mine, I asked for a manager. I was told there is no manager there...another load of BS. Server came back and I told her I didn't want my food at this point. She said, "okay, I'll just bring the bill." Are you f'ing kidding me??? You expect us to pay for this crap?? Needless to say, I will NEVER be back to this $hithole. Service is horrible and they will not let you complain to a manager. No manager is there on a busy weekend day? I find that hard to believe. Stay away from this place if you actually want to eat a meal and not just watch everyone around you eat. If you do decide to go, make sure not to sit in Tara's section.

Well I'm glad I did because this old school diner was of the highest quality. Taking this into account, I ordered a ham, cheese, and bacon omelette with corned beef hash and the results were excellent. To begin, the omelette was delicious. The eggs were cooked to perfection and tasted fresh. Similarly, the bacon was done just right. It wasn't too crispy or too undercooked. Likewise, the cheese was melted perfectly in the middle of the omelette to create a harmony of flavors. It was nice to see a diner actually being able to make a great omelette these days. After that, I tried the corned beef hash and it was great. To explain, the corned beef hash was savory, salty, and richly meaty, with a distinctive tangy and spiced kick from the cured beef. It was definitely homemade which is a rarity nowadays. Without wasting words, Duncan's Dairy Bar is a delightful old school diner that offers tasty homemade breakfast options.

Service was great with plenty of parking, but adding some heat would have improved the meal.

I've been coming to 76 Diner for years, going back to my college days, and while I don't get over to that part of Latham as often anymore, I still make it a point to stop in a few times each year. I will say a while ago they changed their menus. I used to enjoy the older version with some information about the presidents of the United States. Probably silly of me but I enjoyed reading that and it went along with the '76 name. I'd like to see something similar to that come back on future menus. It's a large place, so there's rarely much of a wait, if any, and the parking lot is big enough that finding a spot is never an issue. On this visit, we were seated quickly, greeted promptly, and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Any time I've been here it's always nice and clean. This time was no exception. The menu is positively huge, and it was hard to narrow down my choice, but I went with the western omelette, which comes with potatoes and toast. I wish I could've switched the toast to an English muffin, and the potatoes were really not that flavorful and kind of dry. I would have preferred hashbrowns. I only ate half the omelette. It was kind of dry; no cheese, just ham, peppers, and onions. Am I glad I ate here? I guess so. But will I eat here again? Probably not.

I had some time to spare recently after dropping my dog off at a veterinary clinic in Troy. I ordered the Turkish Breakfast Plate which turned out to be the most expensive breakfast on the menu. It came with a lot of food. It included eggs, Simit ( a Turkish sesame bagel), grapes, toast, honey, olives and cream cheese. I also ordered a Turkish coffee which is a little stronger than what I'm use to. It hit the spot. Service is fast and friendly. The restaurant small but clean and cute. It looks as though the owners might have added a table. There are three or four tables in all. There's a new partition in the kitchen providing a little more distance between customers and those working on food prep. Gone are the beautiful ornate gold detailed Turkish dinner plates and teacups. I found them charming though not practical. I sort of miss them but they looked like heirloom items which wouldn't be appropriate for day-to-day use. They've been replaced by simple white dish-ware. Much more cost effective. FYI. There are no restrooms for customer use. That issue never came up for me but an older couple came in looking for a restroom and the owner advised them to go to the fast food restaurant down the street. As for the food, it was every bit as good as I expected. Some things don't change. I took the leftovers home and made another meal of it the next day.
