The text explained the cost of the technician coming out to do the inspection and other relevant information. I scheduled an appointment and got a call back. The technician came and performed a service inspection. He recommended I purchase a new dishwasher because fixing it plus parts and labor would come out roughly to the same price as a new one. read more

Our ice maker broke about 2-1/2 years ago and I had found this company on Yelp and bookmarked it but never got around to making an appt. Then COVID hit and we didn't want anyone coming into our house during that time. Now that restrictions have been lifted, I figured it was finally time to fix the ice maker and called them to set up an appt. The person that I spoke with was very nice and we set up a Saturday appt. She asked how I heard of them and when I told her it was through Yelp, she said that I got $15 off the repair. I got a confirmation text the day before my appt. It was nice that I didn't have to reach out to them. The morning of my appt, I got a text from the tech letting me know he was on his way. The tech, Washington, was so very nice and respectful. He looked at our ice maker and told us that it broken and couldn't be repaired. He explained to us in a way that we could understand. We told him to go ahead and replace it because we weren't getting a new refrigerator anytime soon since ours was still in good condition (except for the broken ice maker, lol). My husband was amazed at how quickly Washington fixed it and he didn't even make any noise when he was doing it. You wouldn't have even known that someone was in the kitchen! Early on, my husband tried to trouble shoot it and made a lot of banging noise as he was pulling things out trying to figure out what was wrong. After the repair we got to talking with Washington. What an amazing person! Very knowledgeable in his trade and GREAT customer service. They work on most everything except for microwaves. My refrigerator died. When I bought my house four years ago, I could see that the appliances were old and would eventually need to be replaced. Well, it seemed like it was time to replace this one, so I went shopping. Unfortunately, due to COVID, the factories were shut down for a bit and now they're behind in making certain appliances. Especially, the one that I want, which will exactly fit where this one was. Plan B was to see if it could be repaired without costing me a fortune. I came to Yelp (naturally) and requested a quote. I received about six responses, and one of them was from Washington at AAA Century Appliance Repair. His response was the most thorough and showed me that he was really interested in the job. One look at his reviews convinced me that he was the right person for me. One difficult for me is that I live alone, so if I can't get an evening appointment, I have to take time off from work. When they offered me a Saturday appointment, I was thrilled. They charge $5 additional for the initial inspection, raising it to $50, but that's much less than it would cost me to take a day off. They gave me a window from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., which was perfect for me. He called me at 11:30 and was at my house by noon. The fix was relatively simple (well, for him, I couldn't have done it) and in a little under an hour, he was on his way and I only spent $262.15, including the tax. Compared to the $1,500 I was going to spend on the new refrigerator, this was a steal. I also took the opportunity to chat with Washington about this appliance. When I told him I was planning on buying a new one, he told me not to. That this one would last another ten years and anything I buy today will probably need to be serviced within the next five years. This was excellent news because I really need a new washer and dryer (I've already been told not to waste my money repairing those), so I can move them back up on the list. By Saturday evening I had ice being made again, but the refrigerator wasn't getting as cold as I thought it should. I put a thermometer in and by the next morning it was only in the low 50s. It should be below 40. Unfortunately, by now it was Sunday so I wasn't able to get hold of them until Monday. Washington contacted me Monday afternoon and apologized profusely because we had gotten into a conversation and he failed to take a look at where I had the settings in my refrigerator. I had both the freezer and the refrigerator set on the coldest setting. Apparently, this was a mistake. There is only one unit that cools everything and it starts in the freezer. If the freezer is set on the coldest setting, no cold air will go to the refrigerator. He told me to turn that down to the middle setting. I did and by morning the refrigerator was exactly where it needs to be. I not only got my refrigerator fixed, but I learned something in the process. I also have a new repairman for any of the other appliances that will undoubtedly break at some point in the future. Hopefully not for a few years. read more

You know that pain in the butt customer that keeps complaining the repair didn't work? That's me :) I almost never use my dishwasher but water from washing dishes in the sink was collecting in the bottom of the dishwasher. They came out within a couple of days, told me the drain hose from the dishwasher to the garbage disposal was too low and propped it up. Problem solved for $45. Except it wasn't solved. Called them again. This time they sent Washington, their manager. Hose was still too low. He propped it up higher. No charge for the visit. Problem solved. Well, not exactly. Everything drained the was it's supposed to until a week or so later when I used the dishwasher {which I do about twice a year} and again, water not draining. Obviously a different problem. Two days later Washington visits again. This time it's a bad dishwasher pump. No surprise since the dishwasher is 200 or 300 years old. He says it's probably not worth it to replace the pump since a new dishwasher costs only a bit more. No charge for this service call either. These guys are all about the customer service. We recently purchased a house and little did we know of all the responsibilities that come with it. A few weeks in, our wine cooler stops working and the service light came on. Shortly thereafter, the refrigerator filter change was needed. We googled who we should call and stumbled upon AAA Century Appliance. The repairman came to our home and charged $45.00 to evaluate our washer . That is a fair price, however, he did not actually do an evaluation. He just made a determination without actually investigating the washer. He said we needed a new motherboard and it would cost over $300.00 to replace it. My husband told him we would think about it since we had 30 days to decide so the $45.00 would be deducted from the repair price. After he left my husband took the machine apart and cleaned the motherboard with canned air. The washer is now working great, just like brand new. No new motherboard, no $300.00 cost. I never had such wonderful service! They called in the morning to tell me what time they would be arriving at my house and they were there on time! I politely asked them to wear a mask upon in entering my home and they had no problem with doing so. I referred my Dad to this company recently after he discovered his refrigerator was leaking and he could not figure out why himself. He is rather mechanically inclined but it was beyond his ability to get to the bottom of it. My Dad called them and arranged an appointment and they actually came rather quickly and diagnosed the problem quite promptly. They said they needed to order a part and would return when the part came in. My Dad reported to me that they were extremely nice and very professional. As it turned out, they returned without the part and had to do something else to curtail the problem. It absolutely resolved the issue 100%. I was curious about the part and if it was available elsewhere. Since I am an experienced researcher, I found the factory parts catalog for his refrigerator and looked up the part number and tried to order it directly from the manufacturer. Turns out the part is no longer available and AAA Century Appliance used the exact replacement part that the manufacturer offers now and for the same price. Good to know! I called this past Monday morning after our washing machine decided to stop spinning over the weekend. It was very easy to schedule a technician to come out to our home and we were told someone would be by Tuesday afternoon. My wife was the primary contact as I was at work during the window of time a technician was scheduled to come by. Our technician, "Sales", called my wife to let her know he was on the way. She was still wrapping things up at work, and he kindly waited for her to get home with no feeling of being rushed. Once inside our home, Sales was very pleasant and professional. He popped the cover off of our washer, called GE with the error code, and explained to my wife the problem and what it would cost to fix. Unfortunately, it was an expensive part to replace and our washing machine is ~15 years old, so we decided to purchase a new washer instead of paying to fix the old one. It took five visits over two weeks to fix my washer. Their argument is that they followed standard troubleshooting techniques, even after replacing four parts and a visit by a supervisor. The supervisor found the problem by testing a circuit that only took a few minutes. Should have been done on the first visit. Bottom line is the repair was over $300 including major parts markup. Not sure if one of the parts was even needed since it was never tested. If nothing else there should have been a consideration for the amount of time it took to fix the appliance. read more

After reading the reviews and the company background, I decided that I would contact them to schedule an appointment to diagnose and repair the issue with our fridge. I was able to secure an appointment online very easily for the next day. Also I had to reschedule the day of the appointment and called the customer service line and was pleasantly greeted by the representative that answered and was able to move the appointment to the next day. Washington, the technician contacted me 15-20 minutes to confirm my availability for the appointment before arriving.
