Used them for weekly cleaning services for several months. Started off descent with the weekly cleans but over time they began to lack being consistent. It became apparent that they were just simply not cleaning the half bath in the unit. I let their lead person know several times that it's not being cleaned and requested that they clean the entire unit as the price I was paying included 1.5 bathrooms. Still no changes so decided to look for another service. I think these types of companies are best for one time services. When their staff knows you are a weekly client they start lacking in their service because they know they are coming back next week. read more

This review is for carpet cleaning only. I got several quotes for carpet cleaning and decided to go with ALF because they were more affordable and had good reviews. Unfortunately I do regret this decision. There were several large spot stains left by former roommates that ALF was unable to get out of my carpet, which is unfortunate but understandable as those stains were quite old. What is not fine is that they ended up leaving many brownish splotchy stains on my upstairs carpet that were not there before! My upstairs carpet looks so much worse than before the cleaning. The upstairs carpet texture also felt "crunchy" after the cleaning, like there was chemical residue left in it. The cleaning also somehow surfaced a brown stain in the master bedroom carpet that was not there before. The service was also very meh. They missed their first appointment and did not even notify me until I asked about it and rescheduled to a different day. It ended up working out in my case, but might be inconvenient if you're taking off work or if you moved all the furniture already in anticipation of them coming. When finished, the techs told me the carpet would take 7-10 hours to dry when they left, but it actually took 24-48 hours. The techs also dumped DIRTY CARPET WATER ON MY LAWN?? Leaving large hunks of carpet fibers on the grass?? Excuse me. You could dump it somewhere where it might not kill a lawn. When contacted about the stains they left behind, the lady scheduled a free follow up (which again had to be rescheduled) and assured me that these were shampoo residue stains that could be removed. The techs came out again and spent 2 more hours working on the stains. I do appreciate the service, and feel bad for how much time and effort the techs spent but... it did absolutely nothing! The ugly stains are still there. They told me to pull the curtains and not to let the sun shine on it while drying, which I did, and also blew giant fans at the carpet to help it dry faster... nope, still splotchy and crunchy all over. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because the downstairs carpets do seem mostly OK (except the new stain in master bedroom) and feel cleaner than before, and because they did schedule a follow up very quickly. But personally, I would never use this company again. Here's to hoping their other cleaning services are better than their carpet services. Take heed. read more

Booked a service for deep cleaning for the new year. Quote response was quick and communication was transparent, they even offered closer date since they had an opening. The price was given upfront which was nice, no surprises. The cleaners were a tad bit late without any fore warning, but that's okay because my spot can be hard to find. Once they got to the house, they didn't have any shoe covers on which I thought was odd since they're practically bringing in more dirt to clean (I don't allow shoes in the house regularly). I have a 1 bedroom condo, first level and the cleaning took about 3 hours. They cleaned everything that was stated in the quote AND the extra spots I requested when they arrived. My washing machines pictured were filthy on the top and now they look brand new! There was a bit of a language barrier, but nothing Google Translate can't help with. Almost everything was spotless and they emptied out my garbages. I did have to vacuum little particles from the mopping, but that's also just my OCD kicking in. Also, whatever was used to clean the bathroom must have been strong because the smell won't go away even with air freshener. Nonetheless, there's nothing like coming home to a clean space. First, Laura is great to work with and update us through out the day on the status of the cleaning. Since cleaning work was a lot, they even came back the next day to finish up the cleaning. Edit to respond to comment: The cleaners broke off the aerator from the faucet, so now water splashes EVERYWHERE when the faucet is turned on. The cleaners never acknowledged it was broken when they were there, and they could have at least left it there instead of removing it. Also changing review from 2 to 1 star because again, there is no accountability. The response even acknowledges that a replacement for the "minimal" damage would fix everything... so why didn't they just cover the cost to replace it? I used ALF several times for home cleaning. Most of the time they did a decent job, though I did run into some occasional issues that ultimately did not deter me from booking again. For example, the cleaners would rearrange everything on counters, shelves, etc. and never put them back in the same place or leave things completely off center. There were also times when I would find puddles of water left over from mopping. However, the last time they cleaned my house they broke my bathroom faucet. I contacted them asking for either a reimbursement to replace the faucet or a refund on the cleaning (which would have been less than the cost to replace the faucet). The cost of the replacement faucet was ~$171 (plus the cost of a handyman to install, which I estimated at $100. I later got an estimate from a handyman who said it would be $255). The cleaning cost $210. They offered me a $50 credit on a future cleaning. When I pushed for a full refund, they sent me to Yelp since they are covered by "Yelp Guaranteed." I went back and forth with Yelp for about a month until they said this was not covered. So overall while they do a decent job, I would not recommend working with them because if anything does go wrong, there is no accountability. And don't count on the "Yelp Guaranteed" coverage because they will just waste your time and tell you nothing is covered. read more

I have never hired a home cleaner before but my wife convinced me that it was time for us to try one. I contacted ALF Professional Cleaning and worked with Laura to land a date & time. She was incredibly responsive and thorough - which is something I really appreciate. After settling on a date, a team of 3 women came to our home and did the most wonderful job. They deep-cleaned our bathrooms (which really needed some love), our stovetop and oven (which also needed some love), and did a comprehensive cleaning throughout our home. Dusting the blinds, cleaning the countertops, mopping the floors, etc. They have a standard rate and with an add-on fee, we had ALF shampoo clean our carpet stairs. We didn't know what to expect but we didn't expect how much we'd love the treatment. The previous owners had dogs and there were certain spots that had unwanted scents. Though all the stains couldn't come out (urine is impossible to remove), the carpet looked and felt a thousand times better. I was moving in to a home. I also had limited time to be out of the old place I was in. I bug bombed the new place myself, then wanted a deep clean. I used Yelp to find & contact 2 vendors I was interested in using, and Yelp sent the request to other home cleaners. Neither of my choices was available for this tight schedule, but one of Yelp's advertisers, ALF Professional Cleaning, was the one who could do it on time. I sent the request very early in the morning because I was out of time, and I was stunned to get an immediate response. I requested a deep clean, carpet clean, tile & grout, and power wash garage floor, driveway & front door walkway. I was blown away they could do all this work in a single day. Laura acts as liaison through text or on the phone to be sure your project is moving along, and handles payment. Laura rescheduled the team's whole day to get my project done quickly; otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get everything done by my move out date. Overall, the work was excellent. The deep clean is a great value, including many interior cabinets, floors, little things you wouldn't think to clean all over the place. They missed a couple items; I sent pics, & Laura sent the clean team back at the end of the day to finish those small items. The carpets looked incredible! They're white carpets, fairly new, and I didn't know what a difference professional carpet cleaning would make until you see all those beautiful little triangle grid patterns. The carpet was already light, but now they are WHITE. One suggestion: they closed all the doors, which could make carpets mold without air circulation. After ALF is done, open doors & open windows a crack on opposite ends of the house for cross ventilation. Fans not a bad idea either. Might take a couple days to completely dry. The power wash made a nice improvement in the garage & driveway, but what a difference on the walkway! There's a tree that drops these little fruits or berries or something all over the place. The path was immaculate after they were done. Looked fantastic. The grout & tile are good. The grout didn't turn out much lighter like I expected. Laura says the tile guy says that if grout is concrete, it doesn't clean the same way. The first company I got a quote from said he thought they could get the grout much lighter. In the future I might bring in the other company to try this again. I think I'd pull a half star for the grout. But I'd add a star for excellent customer service, incredibly fast service, incredibly hard working staff, and coming back at the end of a long day to finish a few things around my place with a smile on their face. Just look at the photo before and after. This is very delicate rug that sits underneath our dinning table. It was covered with food stains, water stains, etc. I tried spot cleaning it on the go, but it seemed like water created even more mess. So I left it to professionals to do it.
