Driving down route 10 and saw this bagel store! Cars were lined up off 10 because they were waiting for a parking spot. It's packed! We walked in and there's a line of people. However it got to me quickly and I put in my order. You do not pay until they have your food ready. There are 5 booths for customer to sit in. There's also a high counter and high chairs to sit in. The prices here are more than fair. The bagels are so fresh and soft. The rainbow bagel was warm! We will be returning! Ohhhh the coffee was good and hot! read more

I go here at least once every summer and I love their bagels! Bacon egg and cheese is scrumptious and usually I see many people looking happy walking out. My first and definitely, not my last New Jersey bagel. I have been to this place 4 times in two weeks and I even dream of bagels I haven't tried yet! My absolute favorite bagel so far is the very first one I had which was a western omelette with eggs, red pepper, green pepper, ham, and onion on an everything bagel with provolone cheese, and salt, pepper, and ketchup added. I thought being asked to put salt, pepper and ketchup on it was a little different but I figured it must be the norm so I decided to try it. The ketchup really set it off!!! I did cross check this with a few of my New Jersey friends and they said that this was the norm for sandwich bagels! The ladies working were so sweet and very patient as I ordered my first bagel Sandwich! My bagel was so good that I had to go back a few days later to try another. I've also had the western omelette on a blueberry bagel, amazing blueberry bagel, but do not recommend the combo (my fault, I was trying to go for sweet and savory). I've also had the egg and pastrami on a salt bagel, which was really good, and a plain bagel with cream cheese and jelly, again interesting combo but it worked! The bagels are a little firm on the outside but soft on the inside when biting, hard to describe but such a fun consistency! I feel like I have been lied to all my life when it comes to what a bagel truly is and should truly taste like! The bagels were just okay. They were certainly fresh (soft and very warm), but the bagels and anything in the bagels were very flavorless and desperately needed some salt. The staff were very friendly, efficient and the prices were reasonable though. Being so close to NYC seeking out better options is a must. Kind of disappointing because you see the bagels being freshly boiled in the back, so it's a shame they didn't have much of a taste. But they do have quite an extensive menu so there might be other things worth coming for. read more

Grabbed a Jersey Meat (I don't care if you call it pork roll or Taylor ham so I'm avoiding the argument) Egg and Cheese from Alfa Bagel. I normally get these on a hard roll (Kaiser) but since this is a bagel spot and I've heard the bagels are good, I went with an egg bagel. The woman who helped me was very friendly, and I chose to take the sandwich outside to the benches because it was a nice day. Came out to just over $6 and this spot is cash only. The bagel was solid for this area, normally this far west of North Jersey/NYC the bagels are not great but I enjoyed this. Hit it with a little butter and seemed very lightly grilled. Sandwich had 3 slices of the biggest argument meat ever with what I believe to be one egg (could have been two small eggs) and I'd guess two slices of American. I chose to go no SPK as I usually do with these sandwiches. The meat is salty enough and I personally feel ketchup doesn't allow you to taste all the other flavors. I would get this again but I'd be more interested in trying something else from here. This wouldn't crack a top 5 list for me or anything but it was definitely a good sandwich. Stopped in on a rainy Thursday (11/21/24) afternoon around 2.30 in the mood for a good bagel. Ordered a sesame bagel with cream cheese and lox spread. My craving was fulfilled: bagel fluffy inside and toasty outside with plenty of spread. Very friendly service, great value ($4.74), excellent bagel. Parking in its own lot in front. If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. This place is a joke. I ordered two bagel sandwiches with very specific instructions, and they couldn't even get that right. I asked for a bacon, egg, and cheese, egg scrambled, extra bacon, and bacon well done. What did I get? A disgusting, barely-cooked pile of bacon that looked like it came straight from the farm to my bagel. It was so inedible, I had to throw the whole thing in the trash. To make matters worse, when I tried to reach out, nobody answered the phone. After waiting an hour, I finally got through, only to be told to call back because they were "too busy." Seriously? Maybe if you're that slammed, you should HIRE SOME MORE STAFF or reconsider your career choices. If you can't follow simple, direct instructions, you don't belong in the service industry. Sure, the bagels are great, but apparently, they're being made by a team with the collective intelligence of a soggy paper bag. Service stinks. If you order online and go to pick up for some reason they don't comprehend your name well, or make an effort to look for your order that is sitting there to be picked up. I went there, gave them my name and showed them my receipt and they said it wasn't ready. Five minutes later they call me up front and say it's still not ready. Finally, five minutes after that they go to their computer to look up my order and then they realize it was sitting there the whole time ready. A guy waiting next to me called to place his order and they had him waiting for god knows how long. They all of sudden realized they wrote his name wrong. His name was John, they put down Don. On top of that with my order they forgot the toast, and in my breakfast sandwich there were egg shells. A side of bacon was $7.50 and they gave me the saddest 4 pieces of bacon I've ever seen. Good bagels; soft the way I like them. However, whenever I go in their selection seems to be limited. Good sign that the bagels are good, bad sign that they don't seem to make enough? My biggest complaint is their service. I'm new to the area and every time I've gone in, it seems as if since I'm not a "regular" I get passed on service. I have literally waited in a line and others who came in after me have been helped first. The customer apologized for the poor service of the workers. The cheese was completely melted which was very good, but there wasn't enough egg for me. Also, I asked for my bagel toasted which did not happen. The home fries were very mediocre, nothing special. Additionally, the cashiers were not friendly at all. The two women behind the counter were talking to each other for 5 minutes before one of them asked me what I wanted.
