So glad I chose 1 Act for my driving lessons (wanted a refresher). Thank you Jamaica for making…read morethe lessons a great learning experience. Professional and full 2 hour lessons.

I signed up for a risk reduction class in December with the classes beginning on Monday, 1/12/26. I…read moredidn't receive the link until Friday 1/9/26 explaining that a workbook was needed (physical or virtual). I requested a physical workbook due to my eyesight and was told to be at the Duluth office to pick it up on Monday by 4:00 (they are not open on weekends) on the day of the class (1/12/26). I left work early and arrived by 4:00 only to find they were closed. I was told the office manager left early and I had to view the workbook electronically. That was just the first red flag. I realized early in the class that the instructor did not seem to like me by his responses to my answers to some of his questions. I was trying to show that I was present and participating, but he was condescending and he belittled/berated me if he disagreed with my responses. By the last day, he questioned in class if the children that I work with even like me (the classes are recorded). This was personally not a positive experience for me. I would not recommend. Finally, the communication appears to be primarily via text messages, and the beginning of the thread seems to be automated (at least over the weekend) since I asked questions that were never answered and the responses were generic. It asked if wanted to participate in another program, but when I asked what it was, I didn't receive an answer. If you text them with issues during the week, an actual person will respond, it just takes a while.

The instruction by Carlos was excellent and my son said he learned a lot about driving and life from Carlos for which I'm thankful for. We were so pleased with our driving school portion we decided to do our driving road test with 1 ACT as well a year later after accumulating his hours behind the wheel with me by his side. The driving test was handled by a very straightforward and helpful proctor who gave tips and helped put my son at ease before the actual test. We appreciate all that 1 ACT driving schools has done for my son and helping him in his journey to becoming an independent driver and for that I want to say thank you to Ash, the owner and all the instructors and staff. 5 solid stars and two thumbs up!

MUCH IMPROVED from 2yrs ago (have had 3 teen drivers)…read more-DRIVING INSTRUCTORS - some really good, others are absolutely horrible; -LESSON AVAILABILITY - ok to poor, They really need to hire more instructors to increase lesson availability or offer more lessons on weekends and late afternoons/evenings, basically you have to book at least a month -1.5mo in advance, really should disclose this or let potential customers see dates/times lessons are available before signing up & paying as some drivers have a timeline and schedule conflicts like school, feels smarmy when they take your money (no refunds) only to find out when you go to book a lesson that everything is fully booked the next few weeks ; -LESSON BOOKING WEBSITE MUCH BETTER -visually easier to book than before, could still be improved; -COST - is comparable to what other drive schools charge; -CARS - newer, clean & has safety features; -HOURS OPEN & FRONT END STAFF - very limited opening hours, difficult to get a real person to talk to, have to call many times to talk to someone or leave many messages to have someone call back (not understaffed because this was the case even before Covid); more helpful now than before, where previously the front end staff were downright rude There is one driving instructor that should not be an instructor because this person is so rude, abrasive, hyper critical, and demeaning. Not really conducive to be an instructor teacher. I complained about their booking website over a year ago especially how difficult it was to maneuver and see what was available (needed to go to each individual instructor to see their availability instead of having a master calendar, block times were either very light grey if booked or white if not (suggested red or green so right away can see availability), light grey or white were so visually hard to tell what was available & after selecting it didn't tell you availability until after you typed in address & info etc, then if unavail you had to start over again looking for another time)

I have been attempting to contact your company since 9:30 AM this morning to receive the link required to access the class, but my calls were not answered until 10:03 AM. When I was finally able to speak with a representative, they claimed to have sent me the necessary link, though they were unable to provide any proof of this. I was then transferred to the office manager three times before being rescheduled for a Friday, August 16th afternoon session, as well as all-day sessions on Saturday, August 17th and Sunday, August 18th. This revised schedule was highly inconvenient, as I had made other plans that I was forced to cancel. The office manager, Maggie, assured me that she would call to confirm my information and ensure I receive the link to access the class. However, this did not occur. I called again at 4:30 PM to confirm my information and was once more promised that I would receive an email with the link by 6:00 PM. I have been calling since 5:00 PM and have yet to receive either the promised call or the link required to join the class session. I find this level of disorganization and lack of follow-through to be highly unprofessional. As a result, I am requesting a full refund of the $360 I paid so that I may seek out a more reliable provider to complete the required DUI course. I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter.

A hot mess! The start date for class was postponed two weeks later the day BEFORE the original…read morestart date because of a "family emergency". Two weeks later we're told we have a new instructor just for the second day another family emergency occurs with her which isn't her fault. However the following day everyone is waiting outside the locked doors 15 minutes after class was supposed to start because no one's there! No lights, doors locked, no one was answering our calls, no emails or a heads up, nothing! Our class of 25 dropped to 8 that following week because the lack of unprofessionalism and communication was absurd. The one saving grace out of this school was our instructor Miss Terri. She went above and beyond making sure we weren't behind on our course due to the inconveniences that occurred that disrupted our learning days. She was patient, understanding, and lit up the classroom with her lively energy. If it wasn't for her I think the course would've been postponed again for god knows how long until they found another teacher on short notice, she saved my time and made sticking through the struggles worth it. I couldn't be more grateful but besides that I would not recommend. The lack of communication was terrible from the people in charge and even though Google reviews has a high rating (god knows how) I recommend going somewhere else for these kind of certifications. Yes it might cost a bit more but trust no low price is worth the headache and uncertainty.
