Saw Holly at the salon in March before it closed due to the virus. I'm picky and I like my nails colorful. Ombré. With a clear cuticle so it can grow out naturally. She was awesome. Best manicure I've ever had in my adult life. Call ahead before you walk in just to make sure they can fit you in. There are only 4 spa chairs in the small room, so it's best to know if you will have to wait or not. Holly was my technician, and she was so friendly, kind, and accommodating. She paid attention to detail while trimming my unruly cuticles (ew) and applied the paint perfectly without getting any on my skin. She also suggested an ombre nail color, something I've never done before, and I thought it was going to cost more than the regular gel. I went with it because, hey, why not. Much to my happiness, it was the same price! My gel manicure ($30) lasted a full 2 weeks, then my right pointer finger began to lift at the bottom. It's been almost 3 weeks since my manicure, and the right pointer finger is still the only nail to have lifted. If you're looking for beautiful ambiance, detailed technicians, and good pricing, Alfa is the place. TIP: They validate parking in the garage of the building they are located in. read more

First and foremost, the only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because the actual woman who did my nails was kind and patient. The main woman in the shop is quite the opposite. I went in for a gel manicure. I asked for a certain nail style after showing them a photo off of Pinterest and the main woman said "sorry. We don't have those colours." It was odd in that the colours are very basic, light colours. But I didn't fight it. I asked to see the colour rings to pick new colours then. But would go with the same design. I. Found. All. The. Colours. Then I asked if they had glitter gel polish. I was told, no they didn't. So I ask to see a different ring and low and behold, glitter gel polish. I was about to get the top coat when I asked for loose glitter to be pressed onto my plain coloured nail. And I was told, they didn't have loose glitter. When I asked the woman doing my nails, she went to the main girl and she visibly scoffed, rolled her eyes, and went and got the loose glitter and put it on my nails. So not only was my appointment a fight literally every step of the way. I got my nails done on Friday (08/03) and by the next evening (08/04) a lot of it had peeled off. Now it's Tuesday morning (08/07), all of my nails have broken down to nubs and are extremely brittle, and my gel has peeled and chipped off. Avoid this place if you want anything more than simple polish done. Do not do gels here or have anything fun you want to do. read more

I normally schedule stuff in advance, too, but I forgot to schedule this app't and was fortunately enough to be able to walk in. Very nice facility! Small, but very clean and they open the instrument pack in front of you so you know the instruments will be clean. Nice work for a very reasonable price, which is harder and harder to come by in Laguna. I would highly recommend, but try to call in advance; it's a small salon so you could be in for a wait if you walk in. I highly recommend this nail salon. Specially Hollie. She is very talented and also has a very gentle touch. She did the cleanest manicure i have ever done. Also what I liked about her is that she truly cared about my nails health and not filing it too much. I learned that all these time my other nail salon was doing my gel nail polish wrong by filing my nail too thin. Also Hollie put some cotton gloves on my hands to protect them from UV light. No other nail salon has ever done that for me. They also have shellac. I am overall very pleased with my nails and also quality of the work. Holly is by far THE BEST acrylic nail technician I've found in 25 years. I'm a guitarist, so my nails are tools, not for looks. Hence, they have to be perfect and last. I've never found anyone as consistently as conscientious and attentive to detail as Holly. Great pedicures too. No one talking behind your back. Always watching what they're doing, not just pumicing by rote and missing your callouses, but hitting your tender instep instead. I can't say enough great things about Holly and her crew at Alfa! Called and they got me right in for a gel mani and pedi on a Saturday afternoon. Very quaint spot on the 3rd floor directly across from San Shi Go in Laguna with ocean views. It's tiny, with only 2 spa chairs so I think it was luck they got me in 5 mins from my initial call--I was down the street leaving a client meeting and turned to yelp for recommendation, they were the top rated salon and absolutely deserve their 5 star rating. I gave them a 4 because the amount of time it takes for them to do a mani and Pedi ( or gel fill) takes over and hour and a half. Way way too much time than I have to give to get my nails done. The space is super small and its hard to get too many people in there. Just having 4 clients in there takes up so much room, that you can hardly walk around or the nail stylist can get around to do your nails comfortably. I would have loved to have given a 5. This is a secret little gem of a salon off the beaten path utilized by locals. Excellent service with a wonderful sliver of beach view to look at from your pedicure chair.
