I went here the other day to get my nails done for my graduation, and I was pleasantly pleased! I went on a whim and picked this place because it was right next door to my work. In all honesty, I hate going to nail salons because I always end up leaving with bleeding fingers/toes, and scrunch in pain when they get clean.. but not here! They were very gentle! You just have to be vocal and polite if anything is hurting you or you feel uncomfortable. The nail technicians were very gentle and took their time. I called the day before to make an appointment and they were very flexible with my request. I paid about $70 (with tip) for my nails (toes/hand gel/manicure/pedicure). If you'd like to be cheaper, I'm sure you could tell them your budget and go from there. Overall the setting was nice, and I felt like I was taken cared of. I've been here twice now I feel like I get upcharged. I've not paid so much before for a full set and pedicure. I also am not satisfied with the shape of my nails, some nails were left thicker than others one nail has a dip in the shape like the powder is not evenly distributed and like I said some nails are thicker than others. The staff is friendly just not sure who really specializes in nails vs who may usually specialize in pedicures, but I was told she could do my nails and I feel like I need to go somewhere to reshape and color. I did not want to post this review but I felt compelled as I left extremely unsatisfied. The owner was nice and very clear about the pricing for a mani/pedi. I wanted a basic mani pedi and because I went with the cheapest option, it felt like they were trying to up sell everything - salt scrub, callous removal, gel, and eyebrows. They did not know I understood everything they were saying to each other. The nail technician was rough with my hands and feet. It hurt when she was pushing back my cuticles and It looks as if she cut chunks of skin off of my fingers. A couple of my nails were crooked and I asked her once to file it evenly but it didn't work so I just accepted it because she probably would have told me it was my finger that was crooked. She smudged the paint and tried to fix it by applying more top coat. I had to ask for 1 of 2 nails to be re painted. I knew the extra layers of top coat would not dry and rub off. I have written reviews about Sunny Nails in the past because I think it's an absolutely fabulous salon. Tina my manicurist and John my pedicurist are both top-notch. There's nothing more superlative that I can say about them. This review, however, is about my first nail experience out of isolation. I spoke to Tina before the salon opened, and, as expected, the management is taking every precaution to keep both their clients and themselves safe. I am a senior who is very aware of cross-contamination and very concerned about possibilities of transmission. Today when I arrived at the salon, I saw the physical changes that have been made. There were plexiglass partitions positioned between all the clients and all the operators. Stations are fully sanitized between each use, and stations are staggered so that no two clients are next to each other. In addition to the physical changes, scheduling allows for only 50% occupancy, and services are by appointment only. Each client must wear a mask and, upon entry, has a temperature scan and is asked to use hand sanitize. There are also hand sanitizers at each station for use by both clients and operators. I left today with happy hands and happy toes, a safe and very satisfied customer. read more

This was my first time to Sunny Nails, and it certainly won't be my last! Jenny and her husband John are amazing!! They're a husband and wife team that own the salon and they are the sweetest + friendliest people! She wasn't trying to push me to buy extras for my nails. I like a plain Gel Manicure with a pastel color! She asked me if I wanted an extra coat and I'm the kind of person that's afraid to speak up if I don't like something. So I really appreciated her asking me! The manicure was reasonably priced! I thought she would raise the prices due to their equipment being so scarce, but nope. They just have good and honest pricing. She wore her masks and gloves along with her sneeze guard on the table which had cute little rhinestones on it so you can see where to put your hands and you don't bump your hands on it and ruin your nails!! You can really tell she and her husband have put a ton of time, care, & energy into their shop and making it as enjoyable as possible for the customer!! Even though we we're outside on the patio at noon in august, it wasn't even hot! There was a nice breeze because she thoughtfully has the back door of the salon open to create a breeze that comes through to the front of the patio! What also made me love this salon more is the fact that they took a little under an hour to do my gel removal and gel manicure!! But it wasn't like she was trying to rush me out of there. She's just quick and knows what she's doing! Other salons I've wasted 1.5 to 2 hours just to get my gel removal and gel manicure!! I hate just sitting around wasting time. We do not go as much to Sunny Nails because of John the owner, Jennys husband. John should stay home like 4 days a week. He is not very friendly and he seems lazy. Jenny seems to get mad at him alot. I am really not one to complain or want to leave bad reviews, however I feel like I have to today. I don't get my nails done often but when I do I want them to look nice. I'm pretty simple in my choices don't need anything extravagant or complicated. I bookmarked this salon when I first moved here due to the reviews left and the pictures. I finally got in today where the door reads walk ins welcomed. As soon I got in I was greeted and immediately asked if I had an appointment. I said no I was not aware I needed one, she stared at me and didn't say anything then asked one of the ladies to help me so she said ok over there (already not very friendly). So I'm in for a pedi and mani, chose my toe nail color and she starts working on me. It's all fine during the pedi, I would have liked for her to maybe scrub my feet a little more but that's not really enough to leave a review. So then we move to the seated area for my mani and I tell her I would like gel. I have no complaints at the beginning until she starts pushing my cuticles back.. very rough with the scraping and then once she started cleaning them up she cut one finger pretty deep but continued to cut off the area. Well it's needless to say it started bleeding. Naturally she puts the blue cuticle liquid on it to stop it from bleeding, which obviously it burns, so I cringe a bit under my breath. She seems to have gotten annoyed with and her mood changed completely. As she's putting the gel color on she stabs her finger nail into the spot she cut open to scrape some of the blood off which in return causes me to cringe again. Short demands after that. I'm not very happy with the color but it's the one I chose so I can't hold that against them. All in all I'm pretty disappointed and wish I would have spent my money elsewhere. I ended up paying $50 for a mani/pedi with gel which would have been no issue if it wasn't just a basic mani/pedi I could have gotten somewhere else. Everyone else in there seemed pretty happy but they also came to see specific people. So I guess I was just unfortunate to get the lady that doesn't have appointments who takes care of the walk ins. Lesson learned. read more

I have been to many, many salons in search of someone to do nails like I do. Jenny and John, the owners, aren't only great at what they do, they only employ manicurists that equal them. They have completely updated their salon because they take so much pride in their business and just when I thought it was redone and beautiful, they did more. I get compliments on my nails all of the time and they last 3-4 weeks. I get the gel powder dip and love it!
