Alfredo's Paradiso rates 5 stars in my book. This is an Italian scratch kitchen, meaning that if you can think of it, they can make it as , long as they have the ingredients. For example, we dined there a few days ago with friends. Three of us ordered me u items, while our 4th diner ordered shrimp parmigiana, which is not on the menu, but they made it for him. That being said, the food and atmosphere are both top-notch. The service is very good, but we usually dine there early, before it gets busy. If you love and/or crave great Italian food, Alfredo's is my recommendation, hands down. They are open for dinner only, starting at 4:30 pm. Reservations are a must. Very disappointed. We went in the past and had some very good food. The penne con sarde and other dishes were authentic. This recent trip was flat. The menu was reduced, mostly pasta. We ordered anyway, penne ala vodka. Not great. Service was so-so and it was dim and worn down. read more

As someone who is gluten-free and dairy-free, I am very careful about where I eat and communicate my dietary needs clearly. Unfortunately, my experience at Alfredo's Paradiso was extremely disappointing. After waiting over an hour, I was served wheat pasta, which I cannot eat. I had assumed that it was gluten free because thats what I ordered, and ate the pasta but quickly realized the mistake. When I raised concerns, it took another 20 minutes to receive the correct dish, by then, my family had already finished their meals. The waitress seemed rushed and inattentive to my needs, which made the situation more frustrating. While the chef did apologize, we were still charged for the food despite the error and long delays. This experience made what should have been a pleasant family dinner unnecessarily stressful and dangerous. I don't recommend this restaurant if you have any dietary sensitivities read more

Nice local Italian restaurant. Excellent service nice atmosphere. The fried calamari was one of the best I have ever had along with the split pea sausage soup.Portions sizes are large. The sauce is not to my tasting, very sweet and overpowering couldn't finish my meal. It's not for me but this place is worth a try. read more

I came here to celebrate my birthday and had a good time. When we walked in we were greeted by (I believe the head chef) and seated instantly. It was soft and cozy inside and I would say bring a jacket because it's super cold in there. I was a little sad that they didn't have lemonade only soda options and fruit punch. Haven't been in a while and still wondering why. This place is great! We started with arancini which was mushroom fried rice balls in their delicious vodka sauce. Wow. Next was Cesar salads with anchovies, of course. Jess had gnocchi in vodka sauce with crispy chicken on top. She loved it. I had meat sauce (beef and pork) over ziti which was excellent. The interior had warm lighting and soft jazz music playing. The decor was gave vintage, slightly outdated vibes but the staff were very personable and friendly. I received two recommendations for shrimp scampi so I order the shrimp scampi and my date ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. For appetizer we got the burrata chef's special. My date also ordered a Pinot Grigio as they only serve wine for alcoholic beverages. Appetizer: beyond delicious, it had a fried eggplant bottom which complimented the burrata perfectly. It set a great tone for the dinner. Spaghetti & meatballs: for starters it came with Linguine pasta not spaghetti which was odd. The red sauce had a simple yet yummy flavor. The meatballs were not so great but the ricotta made it better. It also came with thick Shrimp scampi: The noodles were drowned in a buttery sauce. When served with just shrimp and no noodles yes it's all just a buttery sauce but when there are noodles, you usually don't have it drowning as the noodles are supposed to soak up a decent amount of the butter sauce. The noodles with the sauce tasted... honestly really bad. It was lacking flavor and felt very muted. Usually any pasta with a butter sauce tastes good so I was surprised. I'm not sure if they just used non salted butter or the wine in the sauce took away the flavor but it was awful. The shrimp tasted good and flavorful, at least. I had added chicken but it had soaked up the flavor so that also was not so great. I had my date try it to check that it wasn't just me and she as well said it was not at all how shrimp scampi traditionally tastes. I am not sure if me requesting to add chicken threw off the chef but it was unfortunate because we spent $80. The waiter was sweet but didn't bother to discount the meal or at least take the extra cost of the chicken off. I will say the presentation of each dish was nice but overall the experience was underwhelming and not so great. I might go back and try something different and provide an updated review with those dishes. Especially since we got there 40 minutes before closing. Perhaps that also played a role. read more

My wife and I and her friend went to Alfredo's in Merritt Island last night for supper. First let me preface that we are Italian and are used to the fantastic Italian food in Boston, So anyway on our quest to find any good Italian good here in Florida, Alfredo's come up on our list. First impression, service a little slow, everything was a longer than normal wait. We ordered 3 different type meals, my wife has the chicken piccata, her friend had a fettuccini type plate and I had veal parm. Wife like her piccata although it was a big too lemony, her friend was not happy with the fettuccini, it was bit bland. My veal was good and sauce has a decent taste although bland as well, but the sauce was lukewarm warm. Overall, not the best experience and food. I would think Floridians would be happy with this, but us northern Italians were not impressed. read more

Food options were pretty good, but the entrees came out less than ideal temperature which basically ruins the dish no matter how tasty it would be otherwise. Our server was switched on us with no explanation after being seated, but both were friendly and good. The garlic rolls were tasty, but the bread that comes with the entrees is like Texas toast? Not sure why they even have that instead of sticking with the garlic rolls. read more

Alfredo's is one of my favorite restaurants on the island. I went there for my Birthday the food and service is outstanding! My personal favorite is the lamb Oso Buco . Heavenly' it takes them 3 days to prepare. The beef version is also delish! read more

My first time and Not impressed, I order a chicken cutlet Parmesan, under fried cutlet that tasted like old oil and no salt at all. Sauce tastes like it came right out of the can. Not authentic Italian. It said on the order it came with bread, no bread found. For the price I only got pasta and very thin cutlets. read more

The owner and our server were extremely nice, but the food was either unseasoned or had odd spice blends. I got fettuccini Alfredo but it tasted like one of these cheeses was missing, and otherwise had no seasoning. The kids pizza tasted mildly of soap, but the sauce had big pieces of rosemary in it. The puttanesca was ok. At that price point, I would have expected slightly better food. The portion sizes are generous and the space is very inviting. Maybe it was just an off night. read more

I've eaten there for many years but things have changed. You now have to pay for a salad, portions are not only smaller and still a bit pricey but the quality is not the same. They used to have amazing pizzas and could get much right on my last order. They said no one was ordering pizzas Christmas Eve so I should have no issues with asking for a specific time. I ordered white pizza with basil and tomatoes and crispy crust. We were there early to pick it up and it had already been done. It was barely warm, we were told they put pesto on instead of pizza and there was the tiniest chopped tomatoes you barely could see any. Lastly it was a soggy mess but the edge was hard. Such a disappointment and it wasn't inexpensive either. I won't order a pizza there again. read more

Best Valentines Dinner EVER! We love Alfredo's. Tonight's food was off the charts great! We had the Burratta appetizer (my favorite) and the lobster ravioli with Tiramiso for dessert. The raviolis were stuffed with a generous portion of lobster and topped with plenty of shrimp. read more

I love a food experience that still uses linen tablecloths. The food here is good Italian (coming from a "jersey girl") this is our go to early dinner spot. I was in the mood for some pasta last night so I returned. There are many good pasta choices on the menu and I was leaning towards the "original" fettucine Alfredo or the Linguine alle Vongole. The waitress highly recommended the latter, so I went with the linguine with clams in garlic and oil ($15). It comes with a soup or salad. I chose the house salad with the house, homemade italian dressing. The veggies were CRISP and FRESH, and the dressing was not too thick or spicy. Garlic bread knots were served just before the salad and they were better this time. It must have been the melted BUTTER on top. The plate of linguine was IMPRESSIVE when it was placed before me. Lots of clams, lots of noodles and a pleasant garlic smell. The waitress ground fresh parmesan cheese on top and I was digging in. Using the spoon, I happily twirled the noodles and clams on to my fork. It was BLISS! I enjoyed everything here very much. I did not feel stuffed at all when I left. Just SATISFIED. Service was attentive and professional. Bathroom was clean and odorless. I shall return to try other dishes soon. read more

A disappointing experience this past weekend. Came in for an early dinner for two just before 5PM. They had been open for less than 30 minutes. There were 13 open tables (I counted). The woman at the hostess stand (who I believe is a manager or owner) initially acted as if we couldn't be sat because we didn't have a reservation. A moment later a server told us if we could finish in less than an hour and a half we could stay. It was an awkward way to start the meal. The pros: the atmosphere was very comfortable, our server was pleasant and professional, the prices were fair, and the garlic knots were delicious. The cons: our calamari had a pungent fishy odor, the cup of lentil soup I was served (which was $5 extra - soup and salad do not come with entrees) was grainy and cold, and our pastas were INSANELY salty (the calamari was as well). There were big grains of finishing salt all over the place. At one point we saw a young man in chef garb run full-speed to the Dollar General in the plaza and come back with 4 large containers of salt. I've never seen someone make a salt run before. I'm aware that pasta water needs to be "as salty as the sea" but dishes with sauce from tinned tomatoes and salty Parmesan do not need copious amounts of finishing salt doused on top. Our food was basically inedible. Maybe that's how they ensure the wine keeps flowing. There were a lot of to-go pizzas being made that looked very good. If we return, perhaps we'll go that route. read more

I recently went to Alfredo's Paradiso w/ a friend. We both ordered family style & vegan. While there were few vegan options on the menu compared to non-veg I must say the vegan food we had here was amazing & dialed. Amanda was our server & she was very kind. The service here is slow yet served in courses & spread out European style which is part of the charm so don't come here in a hurry as it is better to savor the experience. We started w/ Portobello Di Novara- crispy portobello mushroom caps w/ crushed tomatoes & basil. These were a nice starter. Amanda brought out garlic knots w/o butter & we had olive oil for dipping on the side. The lentil soup was quite alright. For my entree I got the penne puttanesca- penne pasta w/ capers, cured olives, crushed tomatoes, garlic, & oil.I loved it! My friend got eggplant parmesan w/o cheese & loved it! We also split a side of braised cabbage. All in all a great experience & would recommend it if in the area! read more

It's so nice when you find a GREAT in an unassuming location. The Antipasto Romano as an appetizer was a wonderful way to start. Fresh mozzarella, olives, salami, basaltic. Heaven. Yellow split pea soup with sausage was so flavorful. The salad greens were so fresh and crisp. We had the Pollo Mediterrano and the Linguini alla vongolo as our entrees and both were fantastic. The Anarkos Italian red blend wine was amazing. Complex flavors, not too dry. So happy and stuffed. But not too full for the delectable mini canolis. read more

Super impressed with this little restaurant in Merritt Island. I guess it has been around for awhile although I'd never been there before taking my dad there for his birthday dinner. The food was all tasty and well done. Everything was light and you could tell they take pride in the food they're serving. I had the ravioli and my dad special ordered chicken cacciatore. Not a bad wine list either. All that being said, the prices were a bit high, which is out of step with the interior, which was very, shall we say, "not fancy." I paid the same price I would have paid for a meal at Prato in Winter Park and that place is drop-dead gorgeous inside (with delicious food to match also). Regardless, they do deserve to charge more here, just for being probably one of the better meals in Merritt Island. I do recommend this place, but consider yourself warned on the prices. read more

This place was highly recommended to me by a good friend but our experience there was horrible. We walked in (we had reservations) and the woman at the desk (the owner) looked surprised....checked the list and stuck us in the back by the kitchen and bathrooms. Next we order...takes 15 minutes for my boyfriend to get salad which was a $5 upcharge and was small and just lettuce and tomatoes. Everyone had bread on the table except us and when we asked for it the child waitress said "the busboy forgot it" and then disappeared. We waited until 8:05 got up...left $5 for the salad and walked out. My boyfriend said something to the owner and she said "who was your waitress" The owner seated us. Needless to say NEVER again. So I ordered a Sicilian pizza for pick up. It was ready when I arrived. The women working the cashier opened the box and said something to the cook. She then called over a guy who turned out to be Alfredo. He took it out of the box placed it back in a pan put more cheese on it and said it will be about 3 minutes. He apologized a number of times. What amazing service to make sure the pizza is done right and good. While the cheese melted he explained that not many people make a Sicilian because it takes so long to make the dough, 8 hours. Well that dough is sure good. The pizza was fantastic. It's clear they take pride in their restaurant. I'll be back for sure. read more

Ate here for the first time with family. My family has eaten here many times. We were seated right away. The decor was nice-- the walls had a lot of nice pictures and were painted yellow with some orange. Italian opera music played in the background. The waitress came over and was very knowledgable. her service was great. I ordered the lamb Osso Bucco with mashed potato truffle. The Osso Bucco was delicious, the mashed potatoes were creamy and cheesy. The gravy was great. My salad was good. The Mozzerella Caprese was very good with a smidgeon of pesto. The garlic knots and garlic bread were good. Overall, the meal was excellent. Service was great. The owners are very engaged with customers and that is a big plus.
