They have some many good options to make their chai even more fun and tasty just like people do with coffee. They also have tons of coffee options of course, including beans as well as locally made pastries and snacks. Everything has been delicious! Found this gem while visiting one of my sites. I couldn't find an online menu or pictures on Yelp for what they had, so went and took a shot! I don't drink coffee but love local places like this, I was lucky they had matcha and it was pure matcha, not that stuff Starbucks and others have with sugar and then a tiny bit of matcha. I had it made with oak milk and was also pleasantly surprised they had gluten free items individually packaged! Amazing, was a win win day. The matcha was smooth, you can tell it's a higher grade, not grainy or too grassy. The gluten free roll, I ate later on my flight, wasn't bad, not sure I would buy that flavor again but appreciate that they had it. I can't even remember the flavor now! Sorry. If I go back to this project I will certainly make a trip to this shop. The house is beautiful on the outside, so much character, I didn't get a chance to walk around but they had trinkets and such for sale. Neat little coffee shop located just off the main drag in downtown Monroe. We've stopped in a few times, and they seem dialed into the pulse of their community. Coffee has been expertly prepared and the munchies we consumed were both tasty and reasonably priced. The old house is cozy and well-appointed with clean bathrooms and a room that partitions off for a larger group. While there are several places to sit including the porch, its more akin to conversation than work. And that's part of its charm. We've not encountered tables seized by a single person sprawled out for the day while sipping a $4 latte. Not cool. I wish they offered more breakfast offerings like hot sammies, and cortados. Nevertheless, Alice Jules has my "Give 'em a whirl" meter just a percolating. Get your hot Joe here! read more

Met a colleague for coffee. Had a Crème Brûlée Latte. It was delicious. This beautiful shop is a gorgeous old Victorian with so much character. I met the owner who was a lovely person. We sat outside and enjoyed our coffee in the sun. There is plenty of seating inside as well. I would definitely return. read more

The coffee is delicious. Iced coffee you can actually taste the coffee in... a small and appreciated miracle! They have multiple flavor syrup and milk options. Alice Jules has great coffee and amazing service from a super friendly staff. They also team up with a couple of local bakeries to provide fresh pastries and muffins. The building is an old house that has been turned into a really fun space to sit and talk over coffee, or get some work done. My one gripe is that the wifi here is pretty spotty, and a lot of days I end up using my phone's hotspot function instead of their wifi. Overall, though, we love this place. The owner is one of the nicest people you'll meet, and he cultivates that friendliness and caring attitude in his baristas. Parking can be an issue if you show up during a super busy time, but there's a big public lot just a block or two away, and the walk is shady and pleasant most of the time. read more

I was just passing through on my way to the beach. I am always on the lookout for local coffee shops. This cute little coffee shop is off the beaten path. I love when coffee shops are located in cute little neighborhoods. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by a very friendly employee. She answered my questions about the interesting drinks that they had and I ended up with an Oreo blended coffee. It was so good!!. Then, a few minutes later an older gentleman came in and spoke to me asking me how my day was going? He then went behind the counter, I assume that maybe he is the owner? I love, love, love when businesses are very friendly to their customers. This should be a no-brainer for all businesses. I wish they were closer to where I live because I would be in here every day! I also picked up two packages of ground coffee. The name on the outside is Captain Jack's Java. The flavor is cinnamon, rum and almond molasses. I just know this is going to be yummy!! read more

An incredible Coffee House in Monroe. Wonderful and very bold coffee. The coffee is fresh and prepared exactly to your likening. There are a variety of pastries & cookies , honey , and handmade gifts. The entire Staff are attentive , polite , and strive to be engaging to all guests. It's a pleasure to be warmly greeted and part of the extraordinary experience at Alice Jules. The coffee house is very warm and inviting to sit alone , with friends , or even for a small event. Plenty of space inside or outside. Daily the owner is present and engaged in work and community. Part of the reason we repeat and return and frequently share about Alice Jules is because the owner is so involved in the community & obviously a neighborhood leader , he is frequently seen coaching and mentoring the employees , and too greeting patrons. I hope others see and taste the value of such a Community Coffee House. So glad I came across this place. I haven't been to Monroe in over a decade and it's so nice to see downtown coming alive. Yeah, there's the same boring, sterile strip mall coffee chains outside of town, but this is so much better. First the building is beyond adorable. A historic Victorian-esque house turned into multiple businesses. The decor makes you feel like you've walked into another world. Compete with a flickering "gas lamp" street light and local artists painting hanging on the wall. The coffee was phenomenal. Their pumpkin whatever is hands down the best pumpkin whatever I've had. Even had pumpkin whipped cream. Seriously, this didn't taste like "oh I added a pump of flavoured corn syrup", but like actual pumpkin batter was added. Their drip coffee is worth coming back for alone. Not bitter, not overly sweet, not burnt. It's a shame I'm only passing through because I would 100% make this a daily third space. Oh, and the Yelp hours are wrong. They are open on Sunday 8a-12p. Also, the owner is a gem. He looks out for his employees and they take Covid precautions even though the overall area may not. They understand it's about the community, not just themselves, and that mentality shows in how he treats his employees. read more

Such a cute little coffee shop, I always love stopping in. I'd argue their coffee is better than any chain restaurant's I've ever tried. If you're in the area and want some coffee or tea, definitely come here. The workers are nice and helpful every time I've been, so that's appreciated. Things to note: the parking lot is small, but there's almost always enough spots. There's also an antique shop attached to the building if you fancy looking around there. Ever since we started looking in the Monroe area for our next home in North Carolina, we found and have been addicted to Alice Jules Coffee House. I personally go for my favorite brew of coffee. "Captain Jack Java" I add extra cinnamon with a touch of oatmilk. It's honestly my favorite coffee roast & blend I've had. The staff is incredible. Kent the owner is always welcoming and our daughter Audrey gets spoiled with Oreo cookies from Mr. Kent all the time. Kyle knows my order by heart and never fails me. Yesterday they were fresh out of Captain Jack Java. He brewed a fresh batch just for me. My family will continue to support our local coffee shop and their great pastries for years to come. The coffee is nothing special. The main reason people go is for the vibes honestly because it's in that house. A vanilla iced latte at starbucks is better but if you get a niche flavor then it's worth it. I love that they added jewlery and some of it is cute but the couches sus me out because they collect a lot of germs. Overall, fun experience, I would recommend!! read more

Warm friendly folks. The coffee was just amazing rich and flavorful. I had a white chocolate mocha with Amaretta and it was delicious. Not overly sweet just full body and amazing. The pastries I bought were interesting and delicious. I love the pumpkin chocolate. When we travel we try to go as many coffee places as possible and this was highly recommended. I love stopping here on Sunday mornings! A lot of smaller coffee shops just don't make great coffee, but Alice Jules is the exception to the rule. I love their iced coffees and scones, which are always rotating flavors. And, right now they're offering Christmas in July flavors which I love! Alice Jules Coffee House is quick, simple, and cozy. My favorite part about this place is the setup. I love that it is located within a house, allowing for separation with multiple rooms and different lounging areas. I visited this past week and it was decorated nicely for Christmas. This place creates a homey, comfortable and toasty vibe, perfect for both the cold and the coffee. I met a few friends here as they were finishing up their "coffee break" and we found ourselves locked into comfort and relaxation. Our coffee break was extended. One of my friends desired a bit more coffee and was granted a fresh refill for only $1 more. I have no doubt I will be returning again here soon. The baristas were welcoming and extremely personable, taking the time to walk you through what they had on drip. This could quickly become one of my new favorite spots to enjoy a coffee run. read more

I'm not from Monroe, but happened to be in the area and was looking for a place to stop at for some coffee. I was surprised. The pictures from Google sang like sirens and drew me in, but the delivery was most certainly driven home. The people and atmosphere made you feel like they were your own family. The coffee was given to me almost directly after I ordered it. The interior lights and wooden tables gave a very calm and relaxing experience as you sip your coffee. I didn't get anything special, just a coffee and a muffin. Next time I'm in the area I'm sure to try something else! read more
