We went on a Saturday afternoon after Wingate University graduation. Happy to say our party of 12 had no problem finding seats. What an interesting place--you could play iSpy for days. The sandwiches and wraps are not only uniquely named but delicious ! They offer a great variety of bottled drinks, fountain, drinks, coffees, and a full bar. There is also a unique gift shop inside and outside seating when it's not freezing cold. Staff was super friendly. All are welcome here.

I've been a fan of this company for over 15 years. We began patronizing the Common Market in the Southend of Charlotte which had a wonderful shaded alley lined with chairs, plantings, and unique people. Sipping wine on a sunny afternoon and enjoying a sandwich was a simple pleasure that reminded us of Ronda, Mykonos, Rome or somewhere way cooler than anywhere called home. So, I was excited to learn that East Frank's is the same owner and has modeled this location after the others (NoDa, Oakwold, etc.). Same great food, quirky way to order (yet it works), vino, beer, hot sauces, and unique gifts with enough social spice to get the ladies from the prayer group all in a tizzy. Often, I will drop in on a lazy Sunday morning and order a breakfast sammie to go. I've tasted almost all of them and heartily recommend trying one, too. Grab a seat at the counter, order a cappuccino, and while the day away. As one of Monroe's unique go-to places for an experience outside the ordinary, my "Give 'em a whirl" meter is huffing and puffing, "Yes, yes, yes"! Go here.

I popped in for a quick lunch on a business trip to Monroe. Loved the welcoming exterior and fun, hip vibe from the minute you step into the door. For first timers like me, getting your bearings on how ordering and paying works is a bit of a challenge. Once inside, turn right to order. Then, take your ticket to the bar to pay. When your order is called, take your ticket back to where you ordered to pick up your food. There were all types of folks enjoying their lunch here. I loved the eclectic blend of people. They had a great menu. Sooooo many drink choices and a great bar. I was working, so I only had unsweetened tea. My wrap was great - but huge! I could only eat half. I liked the vegetarian and vegan options. I'd definitely come by again.

That plan lasted exactly one beer--not because the beer wasn't good (it was), but because the situation became untenable. This is a beer‑only spot, and they do beer right. Cold, tasty, and very much the kind of place where you want to sample a few different pours. The owner was extremely nice, genuinely welcoming, and the inside ambiance was cozy, relaxed, and perfect for lingering... under normal circumstances. Now, an important warning for future patrons: Do. not. make. eye contact. with. Man with goatee. Names have been changed to protect this poor man. I don't know why, because I need to protection from him! Roger does not require proximity. Rog does not wait to be introduced. If Rog catches your eye and senses even the slightest openness to conversation, he will latch onto you like a tractor beam. Suddenly Rog is there--locked in, talking directly into your ear, insulting you, monologuing, and completely derailing your plans to enjoy literally any additional beer. Once the insults begin, your tasting plans are over. The only remaining option is to chug your beer so you have a socially acceptable excuse to leave. This is no longer a fun beer experience--it is an extraction mission. So yes--great beer, great owner, great atmosphere. We wanted to try more beers. We truly did. But Rog made escape the priority. Would return. Would avoid eye contact and drink defensively next time.

We arrived about 7:30pm on a Friday evening. Parking was easy in a nearby lot and we could hear what sounded like live music as we walked toward the building. Sure enough, lucky for us, a live duo was playing on a small stage in front of the outdoor seating. "Sweet Talkin' Johnny" began singing songs from Tom Petty and we knew we wanted to sit and listen for a while. The interior is decorated with fun pictures throughout, which we loved. The portrait of Kramer from Seinfeld was perfect. My wife also reported the women's room has the famous picture of a naked Burt Reynolds from the Cosmopolitan magazine circa 1972. The men's room has the vintage classic poster of Farrah Fawcett and artwork of a dude on a toilet. We did not ask much about their variety of beers after finding the "Big Ass Umbrella" IPA, but we believe they have 16 taps, which, we think include both a variety of their own beers as well as other hard beverages such as seltzers and ciders. They also have a cooler full of assorted 4/6 packs which can be purchased. Tonight we were fortunate enough they had a food truck/trailer serving Nashville Hot Chicken in addition to the live music. Overall, an awesome experience!
