I've never had a bad experience here. It's always warm, fun, and welcoming. The kids that work here are Waxhaw gems and the coffee is GOOD.

We used to go to this place as our regular coffee place. But lately the quality has gone down. The upstairs chairs need to be replaced old with torn up seats. There are so many other coffee places to go to. We've discovered much better ones nearby. read more

The espresso was weak, burnt, and tasted like it sat for hours. My cappuccino came out cold with weird sour milk. The barista messed up the order twice and acted annoyed when I pointed it out. The shop was dirty with grimy counters, sticky floors, and dusty pastries. No working WiFi, loud annoying music, and it smelled musty. Don't waste your time or money here. Zero stars. read more

An old house turned coffee shop in the heart of downtown Waxhaw. I ordered the maple latte with oat milk. It mostly tasted of oat milk and overly sweet syrup. If you don't like them sweet definitely ask for less syrup. I couldn't really taste the espresso. Service was ok, nothing over the top. read more

Crossroads Coffee is the best brew in the Waxhaw area. The coffee is robust and they have delicious options. Every flavor you could imagine! Their beans for sale are phenomenal, and they have a really cool bag-redemption program. They were super welcoming of my service dog, and gave her a pup cup! Update: 12/23/25 Yesterday I shared our experience when we went to Crossroads Coffeehouse the same day. The owner responds that it was because "they were slammed and it was one of the busiest days." This is unfortunate, there is no legitimate reason not to say "Hello", or "I'll be with you shortly ". No one said a word to us accept "excuse me" when we were in their way. Thank you for the free cup of coffee offer. I'll pass. All I wanted yesterday was to be recognized at some point when I was in your place of business. So far it's been poor service and excuses. You blew it by not making this right. My Wife and I were in for the first time to buy some coffee today 12/22/25. We walked in and looked around the store. As we were looking, a younger female employee walked by us filling bags of coffee. Not once did she speak to us, ask us if we needed assistance, nothing. The second female employee who was behind the counter, walked by us twice, never said hello or asked us if we needed help. I was very disappointed with the lack of service. I was surprised, because I heard great feedback about this business. We ended up walking out not purchasing anything. Not a good first impression. read more

This coffee shop is set up in an old home in Waxhaw. You walk in and instantly smell fresh ground coffee. They have a large menu of options ranging from coffee and lattes to milkshakes. They also offer some bagels and other baked goods. Baristas were quick to take our order and get the order out to us. Coffee was OK but not as flavorful as it smells. There is a porch you can sit and enjoy your beverage during nice weather but also a few tables when you walk in. There is also an upstairs if you feel so inclined to find more seating. Been her a couple of times, I am not a coffee drinker at all. Asked for a recommendation and was made concoction of the baristas own doing. It tasted just like coffee (it wasn't bad) I cannot fairly give a review on the coffee itself because I have no experience with it, however the place itself is very welcoming and full of cute decor. Easy-peasy, laid back coffee shop right along the main drag. Parking is a breeze and so is ordering up your favorite java fix. I've stopped in a couple times midday and found the staff friendly, the coffee perfectly prepared, and the munchies fresh. Everything is reasonably priced. Cool. This is my kinda coffee house. First the good news - this little place is as cute a space as it can be, with a fun little casual seating area, and a great country store vibe. The two young ladies were knowledgeable and helpful with our questions, and someone obviously takes great pride in DIY coffee bean roasting, as there was a vast selection of whole bean blends. So all that gets 5 stars. But the surprise was how weak and diluted my lavender latte tasted, even with an extra shot. I was pumped for a bold espresso, home-roasted experience, and was disappointed. So only 3 stars for the coffee. But I'd go back to try a bolder blend. This is a fun spot. read more

Such a cute little coffee shop. When I'm in Waxhaw or riding through I frequently stop here. They have a good number of coffee flavor options with around 6-8 seasonal specials at a time. The use only Torani syrups and have a ton to choose from. The building has a lot of personality too, and is usually quiet so would be a great place to work during the day. Crossroads coffee is a must try place in Waxhaw! First things first the interior of this place is amazing, it's cozy, warm and of course charming! There are plenty of places to sit and study or to just drink coffee. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the different coffees that they (roast in house)-- That's right! They roast in house, unlike other coffee houses/shops in the greater Charlotte area! The staff really do know how to make a good latte, espresso, and drip coffee. My favorite thing about this place is the fact that they have multiple different types of roasts and plenty of specialty beans! I really do enjoy the fact that they are reasonably priced and are a pound! Not just 12ozs a whole pound!!! This place exemplifies a good coffee shop, and exceeds my expectations! read more

A nice coffee joint in downtown Waxhaw. The baristas are super friendly and know how to churn out a great coffee. Depending on when you go you'll either get your drink in 2 minutes or 8. However, I believe they use a different roast for their espresso every day. Either that or I'm becoming a wuss with zero caffeine tolerance. Sometimes their espresso is perfect and gives just the right amount of kick for your day, other times it feels like you just drank straight 108 octane fuel directly out of the racing gas pump at Sunoco. One time it was so insanely strong it gave me gnarly palpitations for the entire day and made me wonder if Id somehow developed a heart arrhythmia lol. Unfortunately that was the last time I went, which is a shame because they still make excellent coffees. If you like it that strong this is your place, but me personally I'd prefer to take my coffee a touch weaker and not feel my heart beating out of my chest for the next 8 hrs read more

I like support local businesses, especially coffee shops. Usually a coffee shop is a great place to study, read your bible, or just get work done. My drink was as advertised, good and reasonably priced. The service was fine. My only problem was the ambience. The baristas were extremely loud and obnoxious. They spoke so loudly and for a very long time. They were complaining and griping about personal stuff so loudly like they wanted everyone to hear what they were having grief over. Even with my earbuds in and my music up loud, but not so that I would disturb the other guests, I could still hear them. Chatty baristas who cannot keep their personal business to themselves do not make good service for those who wish to work in a coffee shop that's meant to be quiet. read more

This coffee shop is alright. It's nothing special in my opinion. The latte I got wasn't bad and they had a variety of neat flavours but the atmosphere of the facility itself felt very dingy. If I am going to a coffeehouse, it's because I want to sit down and enjoy it and do some work. The furniture in this restaurant felt like it was picked up off the side of the road and the lighting was kind of unsettling. My drink was okay, it felt like I paid a lot for something that was kind of lackluster. The lady at the counter was very friendly though which was nice. I come to this shop because unfortunately it's the only one in downtown Waxhaw but I don't think it's worth the trip if you're coming from out of walking distance, you're better to make the trip to any other shop in the area. read more

Crossroads is THE SPOT for coffee in Waxhaw! Located in Downtown, directly across from the water tower, this cute little house is the perfect place to hangout with friends, get some work done, or just chill solo with a cup of joe. They not only have a huge variety of drinks (check out the fridge behind the counter covered in latte flavors!), but they also roast their own beans and have a HUGE variety which you can purchase and take home. My favorite feature is their ever changing Cold Brew of the Month! The service here is always great! The employees are friendly and super accommodating, always willing to adjust a drink or add more sugar, cream, etc. The atmosphere downstairs could use a little work, but the upstairs is quaint, cozy, and cabin-y. The noise level really varies depending on who and how many people are there. Sometimes it may be completely silent to the point where it feels awkward to talk, or really loud to the point where it feels difficult to work. The best time is when you have the upstairs all to yourself. Great for studying, or you know, dancing. They also have a covered front porch with rocking chairs and tables which is so nice in the fall. And if the porch is full but you still want to enjoy the weather, there's seating on the back patio as well. Now for some miscellaneous tips: -Sometimes they can go a little heavy on the cream, so you may want to ask for light. -If you get honey as your sweetener, request for them to melt it--it's so much easier to mix in! -DO NOT GET THE PIVOT LATTE. Even if you are the biggest fan of Friends and simply can't resist.. It literally tastes exactly like a burrito bowl from Salsarita's. Quite possibly one of the few bright spots in downtown Waxham in terms of enjoying a nice time away from work or during travel. Located just a block past the intersection of the main road in Waxhaw, Crossroads is certainly a welcome stop to relax and have a good cup of coffee and a snack prior to heading back out onto the road and into civilization. No complaints on the snacks and coffee. The double expresso that I had was outstanding. The customer service was superb, and the confines were much more than I originally expected. I sat in a separate room with the most comfiest leather couch I've ever sat on in a coffee shop. So relaxing that area was that I almost feel asleep. Quite a moment, considering that I had just consumed a mighty strong double expresso! I do believe that there is additional seating outside. I didn't notice this too much, considering that it was pouring rain at the time of entry. The bathroom is to the immediate right of the barista's area, so you can hear a bit of "everything" that is going on in that room while you are standing in line for your coffee. Coffee=Fail Customer Service=Fail Bathroom=satisfactory Other: First time visit and last time visit, do not recommend. Upon arrival at 8pm on a FRIDAY night, my wife and her parents and I were greeted by a group of men in front of a raised pickup truck immediately outside the coffee shop smoking. My father in law and I went inside the coffee shop. I went first and used the bathroom. The bathroom was clean. I liked that fact. When I came out, the barista informed my father in law and I that they stop doing espresso because they close at 8:30. They also said that stop doing decaf because they close at 8:30. It was 8:03...on a Friday night... As disappointed as I was, I ordered a black coffee. It was gross, but I came all the way from Lancaster to try it, so I sucked it up. If it were not for the men outside with the big wheeled truck smoking, I would not waste a yelp review and give this shop another try, but they ruined it for me. Apparently while my father in law and I were inside, the men made inappropriate hand yanking motions to my mother in law and wife while the two women waited in the car. I think they may have been motioning for them to turn off the head lights in the car, however the headlights were off so I don't know what the yanking hand motion meant, but both women were in the back seat of my car and felt like the men smoking outside the coffee shop looked threatening, perverted and unsafe. If I owned a coffee shop in Waxhaw, I would not let any group of people smoke/ solicit outside my store. I don't know if the men in the group were friends with the baristas, but my family will ever return. I do not recommend this coffee shop. read more

i love this coffeeshop for the products, but i can't give five stars because of the incompetency of the employees. i have had to stand in line for 20+ minutes on multiple occasions, the workers walk around so slowly and can't get orders in as they come, and i have had to explain orders to them that they should already know how to make. & a couple times we've been greeted by rude employees, but most of them are at least kind. just maybe should have a job at the library or DMV where the pace can correlate to how they operate. management should do something about this, i shouldn't have to stand in heels for almost 30 minutes just to place an order, and then another 15 for my order to be messed up and then finally given to me correctly. ***just in this one visit, 2 couples have left the line because the wait was just so ridiculous. & i'm STILL waiting read more

This is one of my favorite spots in the area. Good music, good atmosphere, coffee and friendly staff. Get it on the cheap too. I love that I don't have to pay $6 for a coffee that tastes like crap. If you need to stock up your at home supply, they have plenty of beans and ground coffee for all coffee lover types. Light to dark , flavored to basic. The coffee options are plentiful and reasonably priced (even picky coffee drinkers will find their beverage here) and there are a few food items on the menu, as well, should you be so inclined. Service is over-the-top friendly and accommodating, so be prepared to be treated well.
