They never came out to see her as she was not there. I had to cancel the service and was still charged "per the contract". They charged me for two days of service even though the first week they were only going to see her one day (because per the contract they were going to start seeing her two days a week). The gentleman from billing that I spoke with (Joshua) was not empathetic nor very compassionate, all about the contract and what we signed. Not remotely caring that we were cancelling because she couldn't come home again. I would think carefully before hiring this company to care for your loved ones. They actually did not seem to care.

(Our example: rates started around $5,000 per month and went to over $11,000 per month). However, staff often does not increase and the services you will pay for will not be given. Falls are frequent. Urinary Tract Infections are frequent. Staff is not proactive in thinking of ways to help the residents, however if you try to improve the service for your loved one by talking to the staff nurse or executive director, they will push back and make any improvements almost impossible. Before opting for this facility, research lawsuits that have been filed against Brookdale in Florida and California.

However one of the nice employees has already left due to her dissatisfaction with the business and the other one is in the process of getting another job also because also doesn't like working there..... During one of my frequent visits with my mom I witnessed an elderly woman with severe hand tremors trying to eat chicken noodle soup with a fork. It took her over 40 minutes to try and finish it and not once did a staff member offer to help her. (She was eating at the kitchen bar also which should have been more noticeable). They feed the residents bologna sandwiches on white bread for the evening meal frequently (with a bowl of canned soup and barbecue chips)--nothing like health food and low sodium to boot...NOT. (Canned soup and chips are both known for being very high in sodium which is the absolute worst thing for seniors. All the health professionals also say not to eat processed meats too because of the high cancer risk). In just the first month of my mom's stay she has had 3 expensive clothing items taken. I've asked the staff about this a number of times and nothing ever happens and they've made no effort to locate them. I met with the executive director and she promised to call me back two weeks ago about this and other things and STILL have not heard back from her. (This is also the second time I've left a request for a call back with no response). They are understaffed as well and some of the staff are poorly trained and talk down to my mom. The bathtub where they bathe the residents is dirty. I brought my mom flowers and candy and she didn't get to eat one piece of the candy because another resident (or staff member?) stole that and ate it. The beautiful flowers I got her she said were tipped over and then thrown out by staff just three days after I brought them to her. Other male residents with dementia have wandered into my mom's room at bedtime which has greatly upset her. I would never recommend this facility.

Our mother was at ESI but we moved her. Since mom's move (9 months ago) mom has not fallen,…read moredehydrated, and/or been sick. This was not the case when mom lived at ESI. Also, mom has had physical therapy, which was requested numerous times at ESI but not provided. It is my belief that the owner/nurse/manager is incompetent and dishonest. Upon our request to move mom, the owner, Chezlynn, did her best to stop our mother from moving out. I presume she had too many empty beds and didn't want to empty another one. The staff was in constant turnover & turmoil. These facts can be verified by the three children our mother has, we are all in agreement on this matter.

There is also a small refrigerator in each room. Monthly rent includes heat, electricity, water, cable and three meals a day.The tenants also get a medic alert pendant in case they have a medical emergency. This is not a nursing home, but it provides a nice place for seniors of modest means. There is a community room for group activities and a dining room. The food is excellent and gives you two choices for your main meal. Staff is courteous. There is also a coin laundry on premises. Tenants need to be 55+ and of limited income before being approved. Those who are able to walk can go to town or use a shuttle with scheduled stops.

The care from the nurses, aides, and staff is second to none. They go out of their way to make sure that my needs are met and i remain healthy. Great therapy staff. Some of the staff that work in dietary were plan awful and didn't bring dinner until 2 hours after it was served. The social worker was nice BUT every trike we had a question she would say " I have no idea or that's not my job." The room my dad was in rarely got cleaned. There were candy wrappers and dust and dirt all over the floor. He was there for 6 weeks. So no reason for that.
