Came with my son to have breakfast it was a hustling Busy Sunday. The waitresses kept smiling and moving about endlessly. Our first time here and one could see this is a community gathering place. After two attempts I'm sorry to say service is friendly but food is not great. Coffee is BAD. Stick to the basics when ordering here. Strongly advise against the avocado toast - sloppy, hard to eat & bread was barely toasted. In fact I think they just threw it at the toaster then plated it. Guacamole style avocado spread (vs sliced) and garlic aioli squeezed over the top was weird. Waitress Tera super friendly & nice. we were seated immediately. We were served drinks immediately. We places our order and waited about seven minutes for breakfast to arrive. I got two eggs over Easy with delicious hashbrowns and buttered toast. My friend got a feta spinach omelette with hash fries. Everything was very good. Prices were reasonable. This is a nice place to have breakfast or lunch. They have eating outside and the wait staff is good as well as the food. I would have given them a 5 but my pickle in my Bloody Mary was bad. This was how I found myself in Stuart, FL, looking for some chow. When I saw the name Alice's Family Restaurant, I immediately thought I was in an Arlo Guthrie song. However, I quickly realized I was still in South Florida as I melted, stepping out of the air-conditioned confines of the Big Boy Mobile. Ashley was my server today, and she was gregarious, professional, and spot-on throughout the meal. I ordered a New York Strip and Eggs with a side of Home Fries and a short stack (2) of Banana Pecan Pancakes. Ashley went to put my order in, so I took a peek around the place. It was clean, bright, and empty! Ashley returned with my foodstuffs, and after taking a few pictures, I grabbed my apparat for sustenance extermination and proceeded to the job at hand. I broke an egg first as I always order them over-medium (which this was not). The New York strip was of the lowest grade possible while still being called food. It was cooked properly, a perfect medium-rare. It was tasteless and chewy and landed on the palate with all the fanfare of grilled shoe leather. The only way to describe what they passed off as Home Fries is to speak directly from the gut. They were disgusting. Mushy, greasy, and presented with all the flavor of the steak, this was a colossal strike-out. Thankfully, I had to move on to the next item on my foodie tour of South Florida. I cut off a forkful of the Banana Pecan Griddle Cake and "in my mouth it went." This. This was the only reason this slop house isn't a Swill Alert. Not only was the presentation a work of art, but the Johnny cake was perfectly grilled, the bananas freshly sliced, the pecans warmly toasted, and the whipped cream artfully applied. This was a huge step up from the preceding blech. It wouldn't be fair of me if I didn't mention the scuttlebutt going around among the staff. The place was recently purchased (7 months ago or so) and the new owners are in the process of re-working the menu, décor, the whole kit and ca-boodle. If so, I might have to re-try them when they are done. As it stands, Big Boy says, "Anybody who eats this food will appreciate the brighter possibilities of going on a hunger strike for the cause (good food). Brevard County isn't the only place with crappy Breakfast." read more

First time here with company . It's outside undercover or inside. Nice menu choices with daily specials went for breakfast. Daily special includes coffee. We had a very good server cute guy classy.. very professional! Sadly there's a server with ponytail with purple streak in it that was so very loud and obnoxious. She'd come thru there singing loudly talking loudly yelling across the room. I guess she may think it's cute I thought it was tacky and classless. If she was near our table I'm sure my Apple Watch would send out a warning it hurt my ears!!! All our food was pretty average mine was good hubby said grits weren't hot. We've been going here for years, Haven't been since new owner. Went yesterday, food was not cooked properly, asked them to recook, food was then burned, waitress was loud and rude. Owner was no help, cancelled order. My husband ate his, food was greasy, coffee was terrible, the ticket was almost 15.00 for one breakfast, needless to say will not be going back. Community will miss the original owners, they had good food and good service. read more

If you're looking for a place that's not fancy, but just has home style comfort food and a dog friendly outdoor seating area, ......... this is it! Food like Mom used to make (well, not my Mom, she was a lousy cook!). One of my big benchmarks is "eggs over medium." I hate runny whites! They cook them perfectly. And butter is real butter. Another thing, they don't give you more food than you can eat, then charge accordingly. Portions are just right and prices are fairly inexpensive. I always leave full and rarely have to bring home a "doggie bag" for the doggie (he actually comes with me). They've been around for 30 years and there's a good reason why! We were in the area and decided to stop by and check this place out for breakfast. It was very close to where we were staying and the amount of cars in the parking lot indicated that this is a good spot. I ordered the eggs benedict and my girlfriend ordered the special, which at the moment can't remember what that was. Prices are very reasonable and the amount of food was perfect. I always hate ordering food and I get a plate with enough for two people. I was pleasantly surprise that my dish had a good portion and I didn't feel overloaded. We were very satisfied with the food and the service we received. This is more of a family restaurant so don't expect mimosa's. read more

The new owner is extremely hyper and prances around outside while you are eating. He can hardly wait until you leave so your table gets cleared. Next, my wife and niece where with me for breakfast and I ordered a item off the menu which was a pork special. It seemed to be mostly fat. I have never returned any meal item from this restaurant or any other in Stuart since I've lived in the area for over 24 years. But this was a meal I could not finish so I told the waitress to return it. What happened next was shocking: the owner came charging out to my table and threw the plate of pork I ordered in front of me and started to tear the meat apart to try to prove to me that there was no fat! This is one of my grandparents favorite breakfast places. While visiting them, during Thanksgiving week, they decided to share with me, the great experience and delicious food that Alice's had to offer. Prior to arriving, they excitedly explained to me that the service there was 2nd to none, and everyone they came into cpntactbthere was super friendly. They were right. We decided to sit on the patio, for breakfast. The patio had fans running, music playing and was a very comfortable environment. While we were enjoying the delicious food, our server was very attentive and made sure my coffee and club soda were topped up, along with my grandfather's decaf. In addition the the great service, though, we also had extremely friendly servers and the owner even came out and greeted us, and we all chatted for a few minutes. I have to say even if the food hadn't been great, the experience provided was so nice, warm and welcoming, it would have been enjoyable. To our benefit, though, the food was also great. I would highly recommend Alice's, if you're in Stuart and looking for either a breakfast or lunch place. They close at 2pm, though, so get there early! read more

Not a family friendly restaurant. Just another bar, trying to serve expensive food, that takes over an hour from time order to table. There were 3 times the amount of open tables to those with customers. The chowder was not even warm and thicker than pudding. The pizzas came out hot but the fish and chips were cold and super salty. The dj belongs in an under 18 club. Music was super loud and obnoxious. Had to move tables to try and get away from the noise. Will NEVER come back - and this from a Fort Pierce native. I wish I could give this place 10 stars! We stopped here after a morning of riding our bikes on the island. Since it was our first time we didn't know what to expect. We were directed right away to choose our own table, by a gentleman who pointed out a few open spots in the out door seating area. Once we sat, we were immediately greeted by a friendly server who took our drink order and returned with them right away. We ordered Mimosas and they were decorated with Peeps attached to the PAPER STRAWS. ADORABLE!! The menu had plenty to choose from, breakfast and lunch along with a specials menu. We ordered a bowl of chili and lunch. Everything was served hot, in a speedy manner and tasted FANTASTIC. The young lady who served our food heard it was our first time and she elaborated on how they bake their own bread, get their meat from the butcher, most items are made from scratch and everyone there loves what they do! I had the country fried steak and eggs breakfast. The eggs were a little under cooked but the country fried steak was very good-- especially the breading they used. It was crispy and peppery. where to begin!! Nothing but good things to say about this place! My sister was in town visiting over the weekend and last minute decide to go out for breakfast on a Sunday. Usually I would avoid going on on a Sunday but though let's try it! We arrived and were greeted by the owner right away, and didn't wait more then 5 minutes for a table. We sat outside and our server was with us right away! Everyone their helps each other out so the service runs smoothly. We ordered and had our food in about 10-15 minutes, everything was so quick but never once did we feel rushed. I'm so happy we stumbled upon this place! I have been to this restaurant many times when visiting my parents in Florida. I would describe the food as average portions of uninspired food. The last visit, I ordered eggs, Sunny side up, sausage, and toast. Again, averaged-sized portions of competently prepared food. Uninspired. I believe that my parents enjoy this place because of it's proximity to their home and inexpensive price tag. I would give the food a 4-5 on a scale of 1-10. The interior is bright fluorescent lights with white walls. Clean, but institutional. At our last visit, we approached, and, as is the custom, selected an empty seat outside. There was a menu open on the table, having the appearance of the table's being ready for ordering. Suddenly, an employee blustered across the restaurant, and with voice raised, told us we had to move because this was a "saved table." No reserved sign. It was unnecessarily embarrassing. Especially for my 85-year-old mother and my 90-year-old father. Don't get me wrong, you will get average sized portions of average food competently prepared in this restaurant. The interior of white walls and fluorescent tubes you will also find clean but uninspired. If you want my advice, Yelp any of the surrounding neighborhood restaurants and you can do much better. read more
