I came to Alice's because I'd heard great things about it. It's location is very neat and right next to the Marina. Inside is cutely decorated and our service was great! However, the food left something to be desired. Maybe we just didn't get the right things. My friend started with the Smoked Tuna Dip appetizer. Two people had the she crab soup. Both said it was okay but they've had better. As someone who loves beets, I decided to try the beet salad. After all, you don't find a beet salad on every menu. But this also left something to be desired. I also ordered the BBQ shrimp appetizer. The menu told me they were peel and eat, so this was so surprise. However, they were sitting in a bowl of butter so they were quite messy, but they tasted good. My friend ordered the burger and said it was okay. Overall, ambiance and service were great but the food left us all unsatiated. read more

I am a local and discovered this restaurant shortly after they opened. This restaurant has become my favorite in the area. If you like good, clean, quality food then this is your place. Everyone is super friendly and the owner "Alice" is usually somewhere close by. Peaceful music--guitar and sax. The environment is quaint, homey and very appealing. Love the furniture! Alice has hit a home run in this great location by the bay. We had a couple of appetizers and beverages as we stopped off from work. Adequate wine selection, would love a dry rose though. Nice background music, ambience is lovely. Service was good, love that Alice is on the floor watching over her flock. The service was atrocious. The staff was slow and rude. Service was so bad it isn't worth commenting on food.

Party of six arrived for dinner. No wait. The restaurant was busy, but not overwhelmingly so. Our wait person seemed stressed and impatient from the minute she greeted us. One in our party ordered salmon cooked well-done. Two others ordered BBQ shrimp. The salmon arrived at the table lightly seared and raw in the center. The salmon was sent back to be cooked well-done as requested. Again, the salmon arrived a second time still raw in the center and undercooked. When this was addressed with the wait person, she began to lecture about how salmon is "supposed to be cooked" and that the request to cook it more was "ruining the fish". Of course we know salmon is often seared and served with an undercooked center. However, the customer requested "well-done". From this point on, the wait person seemed completely put out with us and mostly ignored us for the rest of the meal. Additionally, the peel-and-eat BBQ shrimp was also improperly cooked. The shrimp was so difficult to peel that they were mangled by the time we were able to get the shells off. Several in our party also said the ice water smelled fishy. All of that being said, the first time we visited a week ago, we had a great experience. They were accommodating to dietary restrictions and friendly. Maybe on our second visit they were having an off night. We will give this place another try. read more

Very good restaurant on the water in Florida Panhandle. Unfortunately outside wasn't open so we had to done inside but the food was outstanding. I had the fried oysters and my friend had the gumbo which had a lot of seafood in it. Had the fried green tomato appetizer which was really tasty and had a nice seafood topping on it which was unusual but worked out really good. Definitely a place to go especially if the outside dining area is open. read more

Wow. What a bad experience. Let me first say that I've been to this place many times since they first opened. Those were great experiences but today was not. Every twenty minutes two people in our party got their food, so it took nearly two hours for everyone to get their dinner. That was stressful. We were celebrating one person and he got his food last. When you walk in and the hostess and a waitress roll their eyes at you for asking to sit outside, you should know it's not going to be a good experience. Our waitress seemed to be trying but clearly the rest of the restaurant staff wasn't in on the customer service aspect of working in a restaurant. read more

Well, Mother's Day at Alice's was a bust. I've been here before when I come to town. Usually it's good. There was nothing good about my last visit. We had a 1:00 reservation. Our party of 6 arrives a little early, only to find out that walk-ins were given our spot. So we don't get to the table until 1:35. Okay, so the worst is over, right? Nope! Another 15 minutes before a server even shows up to our table. Another 15 minutes to get water. We sat long enough that we new what to order when our drink order was taken. So we ordered. I had a salad to start. It was delicious. For my entree I ordered delmonico Benedict. The food arrived at the same time as my salad. So by the time I got to my entrée it was really cold. Plus the Delmonico steak was was less than a quarter inch thick and well done. The others tried to order, only being told they were out. One of our party received food he didn't order and was told this is the substitute because they were out of his choice. I know this is a long rant. And I typically like this place. But when they brought the food, we still had no utensils. When I asked if we could have some, the server told me to eat it with my hands. Obviously this place was out of control and it cost us an otherwise pleasant Mother's Day. Please get better at handling crowds. I want to continue coming to Alice's. I'll give y'all one more visit. Had our Valentines Day dinner along with friends(first time for them). Once again Alices did not disappoint. I had the fish dinner special, my husband the beef tenderloin our friends the smoked chicken, all dishes where very very good. I think any dish ordered will be pleasing to your palate. The deserts as well, the Chocolate Crème Brûlée was a valentines desert special, (it's on the lunch menu) was so good! With the unique warm atmosphere, good live music playing great songs at a perfect volume, and to top it all off (which can make or break your experience) was Rick our friendly & fantastic server, thanks Rick making our evening so enjoying. read more

Well, I really wanted to give this place a more positive review, however, we have now tried twice and both times similar experiences. My husband and I brought our kids here for lunch one day after Church, it was pretty busy, but no wait. We waited over 15 minutes before we were ever greeted or given waters. Once we finally ordered we sat for well over an hour before our food arrived. Meanwhile people around us who were seated after us were being served food. The food we finally got was good, some of it was incorrect but we went with it. Today, my husband and I decided to give it one more shot. We love the location and figured may be they were having an "off day". Mid week around noon, only a few tables occupied, again we sat for about 15 minutes before we were greeted and offered beverages. Once we ordered we waited 50 minutes for our food. Once the waiter finally arrived with our food, it was fish tacos when we ordered mahi sandwiches. The hostess actually remembered us from last time and was very apologetic and wanted to bring the owner over. At this point we were starving and irritated. Definitely try it for yourself, but make sure you have to appropriate amount of time to spend if you go. read more

Best brunch spot in Bay County. I am a Brunch fanatic and absolutely loved Alices. This is a local hidden gym right on the Bay. I ordered Shrimp and Grits and a mimosa. The staff were so friendly they brought out a bottle of chilled champagne for the table and were quick to refill the OJ. The price was fabulous and the food was delicious. Five stars! read more

First time eating here. Service was super. Grouper imperial was tasty. Bread pudding was good. The outside of their building does not reflect the interior atmosphere and quality of food. We've dined here several times . Have found it to be good food, great atmosphere with live music and nice local. We Dined Saturday night. It wasn't busy. The service was the best we've had there. The food was exceptional! We ordered fried seafood appetizers. Lightly fried and Gulf fresh. I ordered the filet special served with a crab cake on top. It's was also very good. On a monday afternoon when only 4 tables are sat I'd expect to be in and out relatively quickly and that was not the case today. We sat down and were greeted promptly but that's about where the positivity ended. We ordered pretty immediately because we were on lunch. My husband and I ordered shrimp and grits and my sister ordered shrimp tacos. I wish I could leave a review for taste but we never got the food we ordered. The waitress had no clue. She brought out the wront orders first which in hindsight maybe we should have just accepted instead of not eating on our lunch break. She comes back 15 min later saying a new batch of grits had to be made (cool should only take 10 min max). An hour after we sat down, still no food. Finally I just called it and left. Had the place actually been busy I would have understood the reason they were behind but the place was dead. Needless to say I will not be coming back here. read more

I stopped in for dinner yesterday, June 20, 2019, after seeing commercials for this new place on Beach TV. I should have known at 7PM that there were very few people there on a Thursday night that I may have made an error in my judgment. I ordered the blackened grouper entree but was brought the grilled grouper, which I didn't send back. The portion of this fish was smaller than a child's plate and I would say less than 4 oz. portion. It was very uneventful and needless to say I won't be back. I would think a new up and coming eatery that is around successful restaurants in St. Andrews should put forth a bigger effort to insure it will survive. Unimpressed. Ordered 2 salmon dinner plates and a fresh fish plate, two came out cooked, the other salmon was pink in the middle. Waitress insisted it was 'medium' cooked and that was how it was done. My MIL sat and watched us eat our entire meal while hers was taken back, then the sweet potato came back undercooked. No apologies, waitress bristled when potato couldn't be eaten and insisted it was done. Upcharge for spinach had a confusing explanation, I guess you pay market value for it?? No apologies and no compensation for any of the undercooked food. Pretty disappointing. I won't return and I don't recommend. read more

Went to Alice on Bayview with friends we meet at Tyndall FamCamp. We came upon this place by accident as we had plans for a different establishment that failed to open tonight. So happy they weren't opened as we would not have experienced an absolutely terrific meal with excellent service and outstanding customer service. Had the Fish sandwich and fried shrimp entry's with cheesy grits that was sensational Desserts of bread pudding and fudge brownie was the absolute best ending to our terrific meals.
