We were looking for an Oyster Bad and we found a great spot! The service was excellent. Seated right away with a party of 7. 4 adults and 3 kids. Misty was our server and she was very friendly and helpful answering our questions. Oysters were fresh! We all ordered numerous dinners; blackened grouper was really good. The place is darkish on the inside. They had an outside area in the front and a small deck in the back that overlooked an area of water. Wife and I visited Panama City Beach and this place popped with good reviews. We ordered the oyster medley and grilled scallops. Meh on the oysters. Just get them plain or roasted with garlic parm. The scallops were a whole new world of sadness. We could not eat the first try because of the incredible amount of salt (bartender/waitress verified when she took back to the kitchen,) The second round was better seasoned, but seemed fishy/artificial. Not real sea scallops. More like identically shaped and sized fish punch-outs. Bartender was great. Ambiance was quirky including hundreds of single dollar bills signed, dated, and stapled all over. Dusty is a PCB staple. I haven't been here in a while. Years actually. I came and we had dogs, so we sat out on the deck by the pond. Service was great. The service is poor. We asked for a table for two but offered to sit at the bar rather than seat us. Once seated at the bar for more than 5 minutes, the long nailed hairy face bartender asked another customer for their drink order before ours. We sat down much sooner than the others that he waited on, disregarding our party of two. After sliding us two menus, without even looking at them, he said "what are ya drinking?" We hadn't had a chance to look at the menu to find the drinks let alone decide. He continues waiting on another customer without even offering a local option. My husband and I shared the Buffalo shrimp appetizer and my husband ordered an additional 1/2 lb of blackened shrimp. My oysters were handed to me on a tray that was in a stack of trays piled in front of me. They were not cold. They were not as good as the rest of the raw oysters I'd been estimated around town. The Buffalo shrimp was great and my husband liked his shrimp. He ordered 1/2 lb and we didn't realize until we got the bill that we must have been given 1 lb. No biggie we had leftovers. My guy also ordered - and ATE! - the calamari (which he shared) and loved them. He hates calamari. But these were perfectly prepared. Tender and crispy. So. Two days in a row and we loved every bite. There are very few places along the coast of the panhandle that could commend the level of respect and quality among locals as Dusty's. Known by locals as a place that does not raise prices and that brings the freshest seafood to the table, Dusty's is a very special establishment. Dusty's has the "Old Florida" vibe of rustic design, dollar bills stapled across the walls and kind, homey folks working here. Having been around for decades, Dusty's is also home to Scotty, a two time oyster shucking champion. Jokingly their slogan is "home of warm beer, lousy food and ugly waitresses." That play on words should be plenty to scare people away, yet they still love it here. There are good reasons for that. The fried shrimp is easily the best out there. Perfectly light yet crispy enough batter and extremely fresh shrimp. The blue crab claws are out of this world, spiced a bit and a joy to nibble on. Perhaps skip the grouper, it did happen to be overcooked, but no big deal. Local draft beers like 30A are a perfect compliment to this meal. Sitting out back on the patio is a beautiful experience on a pond full of turtles and birds. It would be nice if Dusty's team kept that lake a little bit cleaner as there is just too much plastic there. Despite some of these shortcomings, it's hard to give Dusty's anything less than five stars after enjoying the best fried shrimp in the world. read more

My second stop on my quest for good oysters in PCB led me to Dusty's. You walk in and it's a dive bar feel...(FYI...I love dive bars). The service from the hostess was meh, but my waitress was great! I ordered the 1/2 doz Dusty's oysters (no bacon) and 1/2 doz jalapeño baked. The oysters were good, not great. Many of them had a pound of Parmesan cheese that wasn't baked/melted on. I ordered the blackened grouper for my entree based on the recommendation from the waitress. She said it was the best. She was right, this was probably the tastiest grouper I had in PCB all week!!! I wished I'd gotten it as a sandwich, but it was fantastic as a standalone option. For my sides, I chose the slaw and subbed the fries for the side salad which had lettuce, olives, tomatoes, and a vinaigrette dressing cause I was still on my "diet."
