I also spent a whole week cleaning up my apartment to leave, they then charge me almost $500 for cleaning and damage fees and I can assure you I didn't damage anything. I did not miss cleaning anything if there was any damage possibly scuffs on the wall from walking around my apartment and accidentally bumping into something it's not worth $500 of cleaning and maintenance to fix it. The only thing that I think is good about this place is the fact that the rooms are (sort of) spacious, and you get to use the shuttle system. They could probably make rent cheaper if they just shut down the pool and passed the savings onto the customer, but they won't. The pool is only open for like, 2 months of the year and hardly anybody uses it during that time anyways because the water is too cold. There's a small gym. Okay, cool, whatever. There's a "loungeroom" that nobody uses and a "coffee shop" that hasn't reopened since covid. Honestly, I would rather rent a house/basement for 500$ that is within walking distance from campus than live here for 640$. People here don't pick up their dog's feces, and the staff doesn't enforce the "you have to pick up your pet's waste" rule. AND the staff doesn't clean up the feces themselves often enough. read more

I have been living in the Alight complex for almost a year now. I have been satisfied with my stay thus far and have decided to re-sign my lease. Overall, I highly recommend the complex. It has excellent amenities and a wonderful staff. I believe the price is worth the stay. Because all utilities and amenities are included for no additional charge, the cost of rent equals out to be just as much as other places (if not less). Alight Laramie offers far more to their residents than other places around town- hiking trails right across the road, a pool, hammocks, and a one time only pet fee (just to name a few of my favorite things). The staff has been kind and as accommodating as possible to all tenants. They have worked hard to resolve any and all issues presented to them and are constantly striving to make the complex a better place. read more

I first moved in when the semester started in August, and everything with that went mostly well. The staff are all really nice and accommodating which was great and they made the process really easy! My only issue with move-in was that the apartment was farily dirty, as it didn't look like it was cleaned after the last tenants moved out. I cleaned most of the apartment myself, but tried to get help cleaning the windows, as the dust and dirt wasn't something I wanted to or should have to clean myself. I put in a work order that wasn't ever filled, and ended up canceling it after a couple weeks, after calling a couple times too. I know the staffing for matience hasn't been great, so I'm not too upset about it. However, to this day I still need and would like my windows to be cleaned.. Update: They came and cleaned the windows after I posted this which was very appreciated but I was unaware they were coming by so it was a little strange at first. To add on, my apartment was also missing a lot of furniture at move in, such as desk chairs, headboards, and a couch. I finally got the chairs and couch within the last month, but neither of the rooms have a headboard for the bed which the website and pictures shows is included? Update: Why would the headboards still be on the website if they're being phased out.. a little misleading? Also, last note, I have seen a lot of noise complaint reviews and I have had the opposite experience with that! I rarely ever hear my neighbors and I feel there's a good amount of respect within the Alight community, and I haven't had any negative experiences. :) Overall, the staff are really nice and willing to help. And I have had a fairly ok experience here, and I did decide to renew my lease. I will be moving into a different apartment here next fall, a 3 bedroom instead of the 2 I am in now, so I just hope it's cleaner than when I moved into this one, and that all the furniture is there! read more

Just moved into the apartment 3 days ago and practically everything that could be wrong is. They didn't even attempt to clean after the past residents. There is mold and dishes left in the dishwasher (I called to complain and they came and cleaned but it's still disgusting and a piece of the dishwasher is on the floor now). The ceiling has damage, the blinds are broken, the microwave shuts off while I use it, the fridge was missing a shelf, and the dryer was broken. My boyfriend asked multiple times for an early move in which they said no to because they had to clean but 100% didn't even step foot into the place except to put up "all clean" stickers. First, I just want to start off by saying I have nothing but respect for the student workers that work at the front office, and the maintenance guys as well, these people are some of the nicest people you can talk to when walking into Alight. I would give the hospitality of the front desk people 5 stars, my problem is not with them it's with the higher up management and corporate officials and so on and so fourth. However, if you are looking at coming to The Verge/Alight Laramie I would not recommend this place whatsoever. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A STUDENT, IF YOU ARE A STUDENT DO NOT GO LIVE AT "ALIGHT LARAMIE." Management/Corporate will take advantage of you with every single opportunity they are presented with. They will tell you to come with open arms and tell you how great it is and how beautiful the place is, but once you sign those lease papers they WILL NOT CARE about anything but their money. 1. I have had numerous of "overage fees" over the last few years and when I go in and ask what the charges are for I could never get a straight answer. After being charged a $93 overage fee one month, me and my roommate decided to literally not use ANY thing electrical whatsoever for A ENTIRE MONTH. Our apartment was an ice box, we wanted to see how we kept getting charged. The month goes by AND THE 3 OF US WERE CHARGED A $55 OVERAGE FEE FOR LITERALLY NOTHING. If you want to get charged randomly for no reason while you are staying somewhere then I suggest NOT TO LIVE AT ALIGHT. 2. I currently have someone taking over my lease right now, which is great for me or so I thought. I renewed my lease last spring, and there was a deal going on that it would be $15 off every months rent and nothing was explained to me at all other than "it's a discount." NOW, since I have a sublet, THEY WANT ME TO PAY BACK ALL OF THE DISCOUNTED MONEY THAT WAS OFFERED TO ME IN MY RENEWAL. Each month that I was getting the $15 off, I have to pay back in full and it's been around 8 months. IF YOU ARE A STUDENT I REPEAT, DO NOT GO LIVE AT ALIGHT LARAMIE. ALL THEY WANT TO DO IS TAKE YOUR MONEY AND HIDE ALL OF THESE POLICIES FROM YOU. 3. If you do ever decide to move out, you better hope you didn't hang any kind of posters up in your room at all because that's considered damaging the property. DO NOT HANG ANYTHING UP IN YOUR ROOM. They went to look over my room last night to see if I left it in good condition (which I did) but they said I had to pay for damages. 3 walls needed to be "repainted" and that was going to cost $200. FOR WHITE PAINT, 3 WALLS. I was charged a total of $600 in move out fees, which is about what I pay monthly in rent anyway. Word of advice, if you end up staying here then do not plan on leaving until you are for sure financially stable to do so because on that move out date they will rack up the charges however they can. Once you are ready to move out and start your life after being a student all this company is going to do is take advantage of you. Knowing that you have no money because you are fresh out of college. So to any parents who are looking for their kids first apartment to stay at or to any college looking for his or hers first apartment, DO NOT COME TO ALIGHT. You can literally go to any other student housing in Laramie; The Pointe @ WYO is great, the Quarters are great, go anywhere but here, I promise it will save you less headaches and save you money read more

I've lived here for 3 years. It's more expensive than most apartments in town but you get what you pay for. When I've put in work orders it's never taken more than an hour for someone to come fix the issue. All the other reviews are very accurate. I do not write reviews but I felt like I really need to. it is the noisiest place I've ever lived in. The walls and floors are paper thin. You will never get a good quiet nights rest, ever. There has not been a consecutive 10 hours of not hearing neighbors. That's including coming home at lunch, you will hear them. At midnight, 1,2, 3 a.m.. you'll hear them. Stomping across the floor, dropping stuff, slamming doors. Management says " it's student housing ". Seriously? That's their answer. So if your a day past 30 years old and have a job, not for you. You go to school and need quiet time to study, not for you. You are just a respectful person, not for you. I've been here 4 months. It's been a long 4 months. They allow pets, so the residents have huskies, border collie, one has a 1 year old 65 pound German shepherd. All high strung digs in an apartment all day while they go to class. As I was moving in, they wanted 2 months paystubs for proof. I was transferred from Kansas. manag knew this. They gave me a months grace to get documents. a month after I moved in, jumped threw hoops to get documents forwarded etc, then they say it had to be Wyoming employment. So I had to pay 2 months rent instead. They know Laramie housing sucks so you can't just change plans. i understand their job is to fill apartments. So I'll tell you what they won't. If you are a little bit mature, have a job and respect your neighbors, you want a decent place to live for just a few years, don't stop here. Run Away, fast. good luck read more

I lived at Alight for two years and never had any regrets about living there. As a student, I was hoping to find a nice, affordable place to live in Laramie that offered basic amenities and utilities all for one price. I didn't want to have to find a place and work out the logistics of signing a separate contract with cable/internet provider plus utilities to the city. Alight was nice because I paid rent and they took care of the rest. As a student, I was also concerned with keeping my overall cost of living low. While Alight does fall into an upper tier cost-wise, the price that they give you is the price that you pay. Most apartments around Laramie really aren't all that much cheaper when you factor in utilizes. The apartment grounds are well kept and usually very quiet, although I did live in building 11 which placed me away from the central part of the complex. Many reviews complain about animal waste on the premises, which I noticed in my time at Alight. The grounds keeping staff are great about cleaning it up quickly, management just needs to be more strict about enforcing the rules. I requested an apartment on the third floor in the preferences on my application, knowing that I would be annoyed with any noise from above. Management did a great job of meeting my preferences and matching me with very compatible roommates. The internet provider that Alight partners with is a third party that I had never heard of; however, the internet service provided is seriously fast (I averaged about 200Mbs down via wifi with ping of maybe ~10ms) and very reliable. I was in and out of the main office every day because I used their free coffee bar and shuttle, staff was always very professional and fun to talk to. Their study room was always a great resource for studying and printing documents. Over the course of two years, I put in only a few maintenance requests that were always taken care of within a day or two. The maintenance guys do a great job of taking care of things around the complex. One of them has even taken the time and initiative to build some of the tables and furniture in the common areas, very cool! Some reviews have commented on crime or the front gate, which I always perceived to be a non-issue. The complex is also in a great part of Laramie, adjacent to the golf course, hiking trails, and the hospital. The East Express lot is right down the road if you need to utilize campus transit services. Your experience at Alight Laramie will be what you make of it, management is great to work with and very reasonable. I was a bit of a non-traditional student and I can see how this would be a great place for traditional students and non-traditional students alike. When I was figuring out where to live, I was divided between Alight and The Pointe. I toured both places and told staff at both to "call me Monday and we'll see where I stand". Only the staff at Alight called me back and that's why I gave them my business, I'm really glad I did. Alight offers great quality of life for Laramie. Like I said, it's a little pricey but I thought it was definitely worth it. read more

I had a family emergency which prevented me from being able to transfer my belongings from one apartment to another over the summer. The Verge staff, specifically Kris Carillo and Luke Martin, went out of their way to resolve this situation as easily as possible for me. They made a very hard time for me much easier, and I am so appreciative of them. The office staff are all great, but these two really care about the residents beyond just our monthly rent payments. read more

Do not move into the Grove/Verge/Alight apartments at Laramie. Customer service, especially from the managers and corporate, is a joke. Their team is rude and accommodating only when they want to be and they make that very clear. Communication is non-existent and if you do get a reply, it's short, rude, and they fail to account for their mistakes. Know that the policies written in your lease and general community policies will not be enforced. I have complained multiple times for various reasons about their policies being broken and these issues have not been resolved and any attempt at a resolution was disrespectful and against their own policy. I will say, though, that the younger staff at the front desk (and Kaitlyn) who help with move-in/out and package pick-up are great and very friendly. After reading through the honest reviews of this apartment (because evidently they bribe people with gift cards to write good ones), I am disheartened to know that many other individuals have struggled with terrible customer service and had issues that were never resolved due to staff incompetence. Their roommate pairing is terrible. It needs to be more in depth; place people with like personalities together please. Have a roommate contract. You can request in your application who you'd like to be placed with (specific people or sex), but know that this will be disregarded. Moving in, the apartment was filthy and half of the appliances didn't work. I didn't expect a spotless apartment, but if they knew a new tenant was moving in, they should make some sort of effort. I will say that their maintenance team is great -they are kind and fix any issues promptly. As I am still a current resident, I'm not yet familiar with move-out charges, but from reading reviews it sounds like you'll be up-charged for minor damages not present in the damages list you submit upon move-in. So be very thorough. Expect to see dog crap everywhere outside of the apartment. It doesn't get picked up. This apartment complex is not allergy-friendly either. The apartment amenities are virtually the same as all of the other apartments present in Laramie. They do have a pool and sand volleyball court, but because this is Wyoming, they can only be comfortably used 1-2 months out of the year. Brilliant planning. This apartment is "gated," however the gates remain open almost all year and when they are closed and working, it's likely that your keycard will not. Anyone can get into this apartment complex. Have fun getting out of here in the winter -the drive out and back is entirely uphill. There is a back gate that allows easier travel in winter conditions but do not expect management to let you know when it is open. They provide a shuttle service to campus but it doesn't wait for people -you have to be exactly on time- and the pick-up and drop-off times from the apartment to campus, and vice versa, are long so anticipate standing outside for long periods of time. There is ONE trash compactor for the many apartments present at this facility. It is often broken and not working and unless you live directly next to it, you'll have to walk very far with your trash. According to the apartment's policy, you are not allowed to leave trash outside of your apartment door (in the walkways), but this happens all the time and is met with zero repercussions. These walkways are also pretty grimy. There has been broken glass on the stairway for months and it hasn't been taken care of. Lower steps ice over in the winter and maintenance does not put ice melt on them. Parking lots are plowed relatively well. Parking is a nightmare. There is minimal parking in front of apartments, so you'll often have to park in the overflow lots and walk quite a ways. Expect people to constantly be illegally parked in handicapped spots. The apartment does nothing about this. All in all, I recommend not moving into this apartment and definitely do not have it at the top of your list. It's too pricy for one, it's exclusive amenities aren't able to be used for most of the year and the important ones are provided on campus and paid by your University fees (if you're a student), and staff (minus the front desk and maintenance) are disrespectful and non-accommodating. There are many great places to live in this town -Alight is not one of them. read more

I really like the apartments! They are nice and if you have a problem, maintenance comes pretty fast! I was afraid they wouldn't match me with a good roommate but they did! I also enjoy the community activities like pumpkin carving and grocery bingo! The only thing they could improve is keeping the gym cleaner by emptying the trash and keeping enough paper towels and cleaning supplies! Also, making sure the room is clean before you move in.
