EVERY staff member was extremely welcoming and personable. My hygienist was super sweet, engaged in fun conversation, and was very gentle with the cleaning (a nice change from my previous dentist office haha). I feel really lucky to have found such an awesome dentist so close to home! Second Street is location in the perfect spot in downtown St. Charles. I have had nothing but pleasant and easy cleanings. When I have needed to get cavities filled the team has ensured I am comfortable and not in pain. They even provide dental cleanings for young kids. I have 2 kids (5 and almost 3) who have gone and the team does really well with them to try and keep them entertained (put on a show while they are cleaning) as well as incentivize them with prizes afterwards.

The dental assistant, Jasleen, was extremely rude and rushed through my daughter's cleaning in less than 2 minutes. When the doctor, Dr. Gangaji, came in and pointed out food particles still on her teeth--Jasleen half-heartedly claimed she "tried."It was clear she didn't put in any real effort. If she had, the teeth would have been cleaned properly. My daughter had just come from school, so we hadn't brushed her teeth beforehand, but that shouldn't have excused such a lack of thoroughness and care. Dr. Gangaji didn't remove stain from her teeth, that was the main reason we were there. I had to insist that the stains be removed, and after a second attempt, the teeth looked brighter but still not perfectly clean. It's clear that this dental clinic is not equipped or prepared to handle children's appointments properly. They should not even offer appointments for kids if they can't manage them with the care and attention required. I would not recommend this clinic to any parent looking for quality dental care for their child.

I called Dental Pointe and they got me in right away - evaluated my problem - wedged me between other patients (without inconveniencing other patients) - revealed my situation with x-ray photos - showed me their very competitive procedure costs - and asked if I wanted to go for it in about 20 minutes. Of course I did! Dr. Gangaji, the surgeon, did her magic and it was over before I felt any pain (individual differences could vary). This office is unlike other dentists because in some ways you actually enjoy going. They are all very nice and friendly, and do a good job explaining what they're doing. When it comes to procedures, they've always been peaceful and gentle. And if it's something more challenging or stressful, they are patient in helping you through it. I continue going back to Kirk Family Dentistry (even though it's not close or convenient for me anymore) because I trust their expertise, and that they will do a great job. When it comes to services like dental work, having that peace of mind is the most important thing.

During that call I was told an estimate I received was correct and that nothing changed because of the premiere level of my insurance. However, while I was sitting in the chair, waiting for the work to be done, I was told the cost more than doubled. No explanation, no apology just the doctor telling me insurance is confusing. What he did not explain was with the change in insurance he's able to bill a much greater amount and that cost was passed along to the patient, me, even though i was told, at my inquiry, that nothing had changed, for me, given the level of insurance I had. While the office could not reach out with this info prior to my appointment or during the call I made, they were able to call several times to make sure I paid my bill and asking me to do so before I'd seen what insurance actually paid. That's what they cared about, not that their office, including the dentist, gave misinformation. In fact, I was told by office staff that they'd had many complaints and many patients going elsewhere. Although I've not been disappointed with the care I received, I'm saying to beware of the misinformation and deceitfulness about costs. I wish they would've been upfront and honest.
