I have been with Dr. Shea and his team for around a year or so and cannot express my gratitude enough to himself as well as Jenn and Anya for the tremendous care and attention they have provided. I've dealt with chronic back pain that is often immobilizing for nearly 15 years and have been to several chiropractors in the area over that time. Assuming all Chiropractic was the same, I continued to waste both time and money getting cookie cutter adjustments that never seemed to fully address the underlying issues. After a particularly bad episode I decided to research chiropractors in my area. After a few days I stumbled upon Dr. Shea not far from me and decided to set an appointment. That first visit CHANGED MY LIFE. After an X-Ray, he revealed that I actually had a compressed disc that was the root cause of most of my pain and that he could treat my acute symptoms as well as formulate a treatment plan and offer suggestions to prevent further deterioration. Not only had NONE of the previous doctors discovered this but they never put the time or effort in to educate me on spinal health, my situation and what i could do day to day to make things better. Since that first visit I've made several changes to my diet, incorporated exercise and strength training and have seen HUGE improvements to my overall quality of life. I'm essentially pain free and make sure to maintain regular appointments just as a preventative maintenance practice. I love these folks! first of all they make you feel like family from the first day. I really feel as though they all truly want their patients to be well inside and out. My shoulders are fully functioning, my posture has changed, and treatment has also maintained not having migraines. I've been dealing with back pain and spinal problems for a while now. I've seen many other chiropractors and have struggled to actually make progress that I can actually feel in my body. I recently moved to San Diego, and a friend recommend Dr. Shea to me with high praise - I was a little skeptical at first, but once I started treatment I can say all the praises are 100% warranted. Dr. Shea is very knowledgeable, patient and meticulous. If you believe in ~vibes~, Dr. Shea passed the vibe check with flying colors. You can sense that he genuinely cares about his patients' wellbeing and is passionate about the work he does. All staff members are wonderful as well, and provide support to make sure you are taken care of every step of the way. I really like the holistic approach to Dr. Shea's treatment. We did the x-ray examination, postures evaluation and advice through pictures, traction both on the office and at home, a wide array of physical therapy exercises to do at home, and a lot of resources (videos, podcast, PDFs) for supplemental knowledge. After starting treatment for about 3 weeks and following all the instructions, I'm already feeling better and sleeping better at night. I am so impressed by Dr. Shea and his wellness team. I came in to get my regular massage with Shana, who is spectacular, when I happen to see Dr. Shea making phone calls. My foot had been hurting me lately, so I took a stab in the dark and asked Dr. Shea if he was available for an adjustment even though I didn't have an appointment with him. He said "Sure!" I was so grateful that he took the time. He adjusted my "out of alignment" ankle and the next day I was able to run my personal best time during my morning running session. Shana, the massage therapist, is a miracle worker. She is very intuitive and really know how to get into the fibers of my muscles to find relief. Hello, my experience with this practice was perfect. I went in 4 months pregnant to help prepare my body for labor. No major pain other than usual strains and fatigue from pregnancy. The assistants, receptionist, doctor they were all very kind. Doctor is very involved and takes time to get to know you and listen to your feedback and concerns. EVERY time I went home feeling better and relaxed! Which led to a great night sleep and for anyone who has been pregnant, you know how hard that can be. I feel like the maintenance I did keeping my body aligned helped me for an easy labor and recovery. I would 100% recommend this office and investing in your health. I'm a new patient at Aligned Life but I am not new to chiropractic. Aligned Life merits a 4 star review. The staff is welcoming, the office is bright and aesthetically pleasing. Dr. Shae provides a data driven treatment plan with clear goals. He explains his recommendations clearly and his approach seems conservative yet effective. The fifth star comes because they are on time here! My previous chiropractor, of 15 years, is great but the office was frequently behind. I'm on visit #5 and I've not had to wait more than 5 minutes before seeing the doctor. A local chiropractor (by the beach) recommended me to Align and at first I thought 'drive inland'? It's not all the way to Escondido, more like Rancho Bernardo Road, but as I looked at it this last time, it's RIGHT off the freeway. I was told and the reason I booked it is: "People drive to Dr. Shea because he does what no one else does. He uses multiple techniques and your slipped disc not only gets better, but stays better". I can testify they were right. Dr. Shea really knows what he is doing. With me, he went over my x-rays and clearly explained what's going on with my discs, my hips, etc. He doesn't waste any time, getting to you right away when you arrive and goes through enough tapping, massage and chiropractic moves to get you to where you need to be. 10-15 minutes and you're done! He carefully explains and demonstrates how you look standing sideways, which gives you a clear vision of how much more conscious you need to be about standing up straight. Regretfully, this review is many years overdue. Over the past decade I have been to numerous Chiropractors across San Diego County, spending thousands of dollars. Dr. Shea is hands down one of the best chiropractors I have found. He and his staff are personable, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I have always received quality adjustments every time I have visited. He has never tried to upsell me "Package deals," or prescribe an unnecessary amount of weekly adjustments. In fact, at one point he advised I could reduce the frequency of my visits based on his professional medical opinion of my progress. Dr. Shea genuinely cares about your physically well being and also takes the time to get to know you on a personal level recalling details of past conversations and things important to you. Dr. Shea was the first Chiropractor to suggest my wearing of a small heel lift or wedge to be worn in one of my shoes. The wedge was recommended because of a slight leg length discrepancy (common) and pelvic tilt. Additionally I have dealt with a military related knee injury for years. My time with Dr. Shea and the addition of this wedge has GREATLY improved my chronic knee and subsequent hip pain. I would absolutely recommend Aligned Life Chiropractic and Wellness to anyone in the market.
