I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival that there was only one other person ahead of me. I was seen maybe 5 minutes after my appointment time and was in and out in less than 45 minutes. Parking was also easy with an hour validated parking in their garage. They also had a few patient dedicated spots. The nurse and PA that I saw were nice and listened to my symptoms and concerns. They were professional and provided good care. I would definitely return to this location if I needed same day care again.

Months ago, my partner was suffering some food poisoning. Having recently had good experience from my doctor, as I previously stated, I recommend this clinic. When we arrived the place was completely empty. We asked the front desk technician if they accept walk-ins. This questions was SUPPOSED to be superfluous, as I KNOW they are available for walk-ins but to my surprise the technician, a woman of African American decent and (ironically) wearing a pride flag pin informed us that this clinic does not take walk ins. My partner is very shy in nature, quiet. They put on a brave face despite wanting- at the time, to puke everywhere on the floor. Like most women of color, they are naturally conditioned to be as calm and collected as possible despite the pain, in order to be taken seriously by medical staff. I would have assumed this technician in particular may have some understanding of that. But instead i assume she thought "oh they don't look so bad" and felt comfortable to outwardly deny us their walk-in service for the sake of their schedule. I for a period of time, was also a technician for a clinic. I can understand how potentially stressful, as an employee, it is when a patient walks in instead of making an appointment. And to that I say, it's your job get a grip. It was so completely unethical and inhumane to straight up lie to us. I had to drive my partner in downtown traffic for 20 f*cking minutes so they could see us at SHARP. I felt so bad that my partner had to hold on for that long because of your ill-trained staff. I was so pissed that on the very same day I called this same North Park location and acted dumb and asked in a super nice voice "Do you guys take walk ins?" Tell me why the tech (WHO HONESTLY SOUNDED LIKE THE ONE THAT DENIED US EARLIER IM ALMOST CERTAIN) says "Yes !". Immediately I saw red, this terrible terrible person who should not be working for a job where you're SUPPOSED HELP OTHER HUMANS. She said they had a backlog of 5,000 uprocessed referrals. I can't even fathom what this would mean my healthcare needs were dire. - My PCP turned off my ability to message her after one message. - Recently I showed up for a dermatology appointment and, after disrobing and waiting, I was told I couldn't be seen that day because I had an endocrinology appointment earlier that day, completely wasting hours of my time. Yet it was someone within Perlman Clinic who had booked both appointments for me. - They have ZERO holistic options. The ONLY PCP I could find with a holistic (ie TRULY "integrative") background was fully booked out with no option for a waitlist. - The first PCP I tried with them, when I asked her "do you trust me to know my own body" looked me straight in the eye and, deadpan, said "No." Then she proceeded to get very agitated. - A recent referral was denied by my insurance and they claimed they had no interest in disputing it. - A doctor I waited a month to get in to see cancelled two hours before with no reason or apology, and bumped me right to the back of the line again, forcing me to wait another month to see her. - The endocrinologist I've been working with clearly has zero real knowledge. My research and conversation with functional doctors has shown me that if I flat out listened to her, it could be dangerous for my health. - My insurance denied thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of claims because they were incorrectly submitted. - The clinics emulate complete lack of health. Everyone who works there looks and feels so unhappy and unhealthy. I have trouble understanding how these are the people we should be counting on for our health? - As if this list weren't long enough, there's so much more beyond this - all WAY too long to list here. I told the lady at the front desk that I felt like I was having a heart attack. She immediately brought me back and 3-5 people jumped in and worked on me. They immediately called an ambulance for me to be rushed to the hospital. It wasn't a heart attack but it was an arrhythmia. Normal heart rate is 60-100 bpm, my heart was at 240 bpm!!! That was terrifying. When I was at the hospital, the doc and cardiologist said it was good I went to urgent care when I did bc they were able to get my vitals and heart scans to quickly determine it was SVT. I want to say a huge THANK YOU to the ladies at AFC. If it wasn't for your quick action and quick assessment, I don't know what would've happened. The website was easy to navigate with the option to walk-in or schedule an appointment. I opted to schedule an appointment in two hours. The appointment scheduling system was a breeze and very user friendly. I saved a bunch of time uploading my Driver's License, Insurance Card and filling out all my information. I received text and email updates. I arrived 30 minutes before my appointment and the receptionist was friendly and checked me in, even though there was a QR code to scan for self-check. The waiting room was 75% full, so I opted to sit near the door one seat away from other patients on either side. While waiting there was a steady flow of patients coming and going. What I disliked was when a new patient sat right next to me when there was a row of three empty seats. I feel like it's just good manners to sit far apart when possible. Nurse Ashley took me back to check my vitals 8 minutes after my schedule appointment. Instead of measuring my height and weight she asked me. She did take my blood pressure, pulse and temperature. She brought me back to wait in a treatment room. After 15-20 minutes she came back to inform me that I will be seen by a provider shortly and thank you for waiting. I made myself comfy in the armchair. It was probably another 30 minutes before Dr. MacKenzie came in. She asked a few questions, took a look at me, gave me her diagnosis but wanted a second opinion and asked me to wait a little longer. Another doctor came in, asked some questions, looked at me and felt my eyes, gave the same diagnosis and departed. Dr. MacKenzie explained the diagnosis, prescribed a steroid, antihistamine and topic ointment. These were all ready for me before I arrived at my preferred pharmacy. What I appreciated the most was her level of care. I respected that she took time to get a second opinion and thoroughly explained everything to me and answered all my questions. While it's never fun to go to the hospital, she eased my anxiety for sure. I highly recommend this location for urgent care needs and hope that you are lucky to get Dr. MacKenzie.

Taylor through the online portal about three weeks ago. I am a new patient, and I entered all of my information during the booking process. At no point was I told that Dr. Taylor was not accepting new patients. Despite that, the system still allowed me to book the appointment, sent me through the process, and confirmed it. I chose Dr. Taylor at the Adams Avenue location very intentionally, because she is one of the few medical doctors there and many of the other available appointments appear to be with physician assistants. I arrived on time for my 10:00 AM appointment only to be told, after the fact, that I could not be seen because she does not accept new patients. That is not the patient's mistake. That is the clinic's mistake. A competent medical office does not allow patients to schedule appointments that were never going to be honored. A competent office does not wait until the patient is physically standing at the front desk to finally mention a restriction they should have disclosed from the start. And a competent office does not treat a patient's time as disposable because their own system is broken. This clinic needs to take responsibility for its own failures instead of pushing the consequences onto patients. If the online portal is inaccurate, fix it. If the staff knows certain doctors are not accepting new patients, stop those appointments from being booked. If management is aware of this issue and has done nothing, that is even worse. Patients should not have to pay for this clinic's disorganization with their time and energy. This was careless, misleading, and deeply unprofessional.

Pop up to the second floor via the elevator, or stairs, and you have arrived. Due to a Christmas layoff, I lost my regular insurance back in December. Thankfully, I now have a temporary insurance that allows me to be seen at Hillcrest Family Health Center. Amen to that! I recommend making an early appointment, as this place can get quite busy as the day goes on. There is plenty of seating in the waiting room, but it's possible you could get an unfavorable seat, or not a seat at all. The young ladies at the check-in station have all been very nice, which is much appreciated. Also, there is hand sanitizer at the check-in station which is also "so fresh and so clean". Aside from the aforementioned, I've been really pleased with the ability to get an appointment with very short notice. Once I was able to make an appointment within 2 days, and another time I secured an appointment in about a week. Also, each time I've been seen, albeit early in the a.m., the appointments have been punctual. No waiting around leaving plenty of time to move on with my day. I also like that they have a lab that shares the lobby, making it a breeze to get your blood drawn after your appointment. I was able to knock out the appointment and the blood draw in no time. What I haven't been too fond of is the follow up on referrals. I was told that I would receive a follow up call about two referrals that were placed during my initial visit, but they never called. Thankfully, and more importantly, the referrals did get placed, so all I have to do is follow up with the referral locations. The other slight concern I had was that the NP that saw me during my initial visit, didn't really provide a very caring or investigative experience. What I mean is, it was more of a touch and go or check the boxes kind of interaction. To be fair though it was an initial visit and they are a traveling NP, so they sort of mentioned that I probably wouldn't see them again after the blood work. However, I did end up seeing them on my second visit, which was what I would call a more thorough and patient interaction, which I very much appreciated. Thank you for that. Thank you to everyone at HFHC!!! It's a tough job, in a tough economy, in a world full of madness, so I'm thankful for being able to have healthcare and get some relief. We finally had to leave because we had somewhere to be. From the moment we walked into this clinic, the difference was immediate. The staff was kind, respectful, and efficient. No attitude, no chaos, just people who clearly care. My son usually hates going to the doctor, but they made the whole experience quick and easy for him. We were in and out (including getting his prescription filled at the pharmacy) in under 30 minutes. I don't know if it was perfect timing or just how well they run things, but either way--I won't forget how well we were treated. Highly recommend!
