TLDR: As someone brand new to coming to a chiropractor and a bit skeptical/nervous it was going to be helpful, I'm extremely impressed by the improvement and positive effect it has had on my body. Additionally, the experience at their facility was exceptional both with their billing services, customer support, and the Dr. who took care of me. I scheduled a consultation with Dr. Monaco so he could speak to me a little bit more about his services as well as answer a few questions I had concerning the impact I was looking for (I came to him for a sudden limitation in mobility in my neck and spine). As a yoga instructor, I can happily say this guy was legit; his anatomical knowledge and ethical practices were incredible and he made me feel very comfortable from my first moment at the clinic. He also takes a trauma-informed approach, asking for permission and consent prior to contact which should be the norm across the board of all medical/wellness facilities but unfortunately is not always the case. His humor and kindness carried me through the more painful/uncomfortable portions of my adjustments which also made my visits that much more enjoyable! I purchased a package of sessions and they even offered to work with me on billing since my insurance covered nothing, which was very kind. At one point, it's worth noting I was double charged despite my knowledge but their billing department refunded me right away. With Covid-19, I was also a little nervous as I was only half vaccinated during the majority of my sessions. They were insanely clean and offered hand sanitizer, temperature checks, and all wore masks every time. Dr. Monaco had also mentioned to me that as a health and wellness facility, they had all already been vaccinated so that made me feel extra confident about attending. I received 'homework' from Dr. Monaco which consisted of a few simple exercises I did daily; this combined with the adjustments I received, I was feeling back to normal in terms of mobility after about 6 weeks which I was ELATED about. Started off great let them know my issue on a $350 prescription i could not afford. So they said no problem I think we can help. They scheduled me an appointment for every week that cost me with insurance 167.00 plus labs over 300 and the supplements that are under 300, but they took all payments without my approval and broke me. You go online to look at the statement and it gives choices on what you pay. I feel they got desperate for patients. When I thought they heard me say I cant afford 350.00 you would think they would do the best to follow that. Be careful with this company and billing. Like many of the others who have responded, I was thrown for a loop with the billing department. I went to Aligned specifically for a holistic, more natural approach to some issues I have been having. I chose Aligned because my insurance provider would cover my visits with them. I know they require a card to be kept on file, but they will charge you for your visits automatically, not informing you of how much the charge will be, or that they will be charging you. There is no time to look at a bill. They just deduct everything from the card on file with no warning. Secondly, I requested blood work be done like many others. I was informed that just as long as it was coded correctly, it would be covered by my insurance. In fairness, I requested the blood work. However, imagine my surprise when I received a bill for over $700. I thought that my insurance just wouldn't cover it for some reason. They never submitted it through insurance. I was told by my health insurance provider that any blood work done through Quest Diagnostics would be covered. My insurance company never received a claim, and Quest never received a bill. I was told by their billing deparment that they had "looked it up," and my insurance company wouldn't cover chiropractic care, which is a lie. I told them I couldn't afford that, and said I would need a payment plan. I was told to fill out a paper agreeing to the payment plan. I couldn't sign it right that day. I got online to sign it the next day, and the woman had already charged my card the full amount for $741. If I can't pay the bill in full and want to set up a payment plan, you go ahead and charge my card the full amount? They said that once they receive the form, then they will deduct the first payment and reimburse the rest of the $741. The reimbursement is pending, but I was informed by my bank that if that should happen again, to contact them and there are forms that can be filled out and disputes that can be made. These practices are extremely shady. I've never been to a healthcare provider that did not take the time to explain costs, what I was being charged for, and didn't go through insurance, when the fact they accept my insurance was the whole reason I went there. read more

Ok, I'm the unicorn. Everyone else gave them a good review. Mine is not. I met with Elizabeth Toth for an overview of what I could expect. First thing was getting a lot of bloodwork done. I was told by herthat the cost would be between $300 & $400. Big surprise when I received a bill for$525. No heads up or explanation. When I wrote to Elizabeth, her response was cokd. She said " she totally understood" in guessing about being shocked by the price, and "thanks g for the feedback. Although she signed off early, I would say it was coldly. I am not prone to writing reviews, but the service at Aligned demands documentation. In my life I've received seven acupuncture treatments. As they are a new and novel experience, I am very clear on what treatments I received. In five treatments I received treatments without electrical stimulation. In two treatments I received electrical stimulation and cupping. However, all treatments were billed to the insurance company as if I'd received electrical stimulation and cupping. I did not receive any statements until claims had been submitted to my insurance and paid. This was approximately two months. When I received the statement, it was part of an email stating that there were issues with their billing system and the statements may include charges that had been provided months, or even YEARS earlier. I reviewed the statement and caught the error and brought it to their attention. I asked for copies of the treatment documentation. It took a month to provide the requested information. In the meantime, I contacted the insurance company and asked about the billing codes. I provided the information to Aligned and asked them to resubmit the claims and correct the billing. From the notation in my treatment files, it appeared that billing information was simply copied and pasted from one session to the next. My final two treatments were provided by a different acupuncturist, and the documentation reflected this. Their final response was that Eleanor said the documentation was correct, that electrical stimulation and cupping was provided at all sessions. The kindest appraisal of this response is that it is incorrect. For the aggravation, I have been offered a one-time 10% discount on my balance. Do not use Aligned Modern Health. Their record keeping and billing is the sloppiest I've ever seen. Anywhere. In any industry. Trust me when I say whatever your situation, you do not need the aggravation of being lied to. read more

Incredibly sketchy billing process... they aren't willing to give you billing codes before booking so that you can check with insurance to understand cost. They say they will tell you what your co-pay is within their 24 hour cancellation window, so that you can't cancel despite what the cost will be, and then they can charge you more if they want. read more

I had two appointments, and recieved a bill that was way more than I had expected, and none of this was ever explained to me. My doctors were informative but anything positive from the experience was ruined by the billing process. Prior to going here last year for multiple appointments, I called multiple times to confirm that my insurance (BCBS PPO) would cover appointments and was assured it would be covered. I initially was seeing a functional doctor, and per his suggestion, I also started seeing a nutritionist. None of those appointments were covered - even though I received the assurance that it would be. Without notice and over a year later, I had a balance that was being pursued by collections and they automatically charged my account - a debit card that I used to make a copayment. (After the money was out of my account, I realized that they did send an e-mail two days prior that my card would definitively be charged, but it went to my spam and again, as it has been over a year, I wasn't particularly looking for it). I see others leaving reviews that share my sentiments and to quote Gino M. "The fact that I have to wait to find out the full extent of my financial obligation after almost a year is unacceptable." In hindsight, the whole practice feels exploitative. They pushed additional, expensive tests and appointments on me that luckily I didn't fall prey too. Each appointment would end with the doctors themselves scheduling the next one. When I stopped going, they made it very hard for me to straight up cancel my appointments and urged rescheduling. I would get calls to rebook appointments after it had been months of not going and urging ongoing treatment. It feels like overall, patients are being used as cash cows rather than being treated with the best interest in mind - although, they'd like you to believe otherwise - after multiple times having stated that it's actually traditional doctors and hospitals that don't care for you like they do. This review is specifically about Mikaela, one of their dietitians. I met with her twice, and it was a complete waste of my time. The TL;DR is that the information she provided was horribly misguided and showed her lack of knowledge in weight loss issues with someone who is in their 50s struggling to lose weight. She was also incredibly rude and condescending. During our first meeting, she spent a ridiculous amount of time reviewing a confusing chart that she had difficulty explaining when she could have bottom-lined it in a few minutes. That left only a short amount of time to discuss calorie/macro goals so we had to schedule a second apt. since we only had time to discuss breakfast. She REALLY needs coaching on time management, to not be able to discuss essential items like a food plan in an initial meeting is unacceptable. During the second apt, she sent me the zoom link after our starting time -- which is extremely frustrating since there were technical issues. I usually sign in a few minutes early when I have a link to work through any issues. I wanted to get straight to the calorie/macro information. She wasn't at all prepared for the meeting and asked if I was the wrong height and weight and then said, "oh, that's someone else" After giving her the correct weight and answering other questions, she took several minutes to calculate a calorie goal -- I could have done this by Googling a similar chart. My goal with working with a dietitian is having someone with enough knowledge to put context and details around this information. She gave me ridiculous numbers for maintenance and weight loss calories. I had an overall idea of how much I should be eating due to going to a weight loss spa and losing 35 lbs based on the plan they gave me. When I told her this, instead of asking insightful questions, she was completely condescending, TELLING me that the calorie range I stated could lead to muscle loss and that there are more important things than just the numbers on the scale. Well, for me, right now, the number on the scale IS the most important thing; I'd like to get 20-30 libs off, and then I can start thinking about incorporating a muscle-building plan -- She was so disrespectful of my goals. She's a bit cocky for someone with only a year out of school under her I'm so disappointed since I've had a great experience with Dr. Dever a chiropractor and with Dr. Toth - an integrative dr. I've been an Aligned customer for 15+ years and this is my first bad experience. Mikaela gives Aligned a bad name. read more

I would not recommend Aligned's functional nutrition group for multiple reasons. Everyone is very accommodating and friendly, but I definitely felt more like a cash cow rather than a patient with my health in their best interests. I spent over $1000 with them and glad it was mostly my expiring FSA money. After my initial appointment, I was told I needed a blood test where they 'look for things that traditional doctors wouldn't look for.' Great! I took time on a Saturday morning to complete a series of tests (about 12 vials worth) and discussed the results at a subsequent $200 appointment. The Aligned doctor thought my results seemed incorrect without sharing why he thought so. I was instructed to again get my blood drawn and paid for a third appointment to discuss the results. The doctor again seemed dubious about some of the results and instructed me to get my blood drawn again. At my fourth $200 appointment, he still wanted me to get another draw, which I did not do. I showed him my nutritional panel and other tests done at Northwestern a year before my appointments at Align, which he flipped through but didn't consider in his diagnosis. I was also prescribed a series of very questionable supplements during my first appointment without in-depth discussion about what each one is for. I was prescribed a different series of supplements during my third appointment which I did end up buying, but wish I had asked for a second opinion before shelling out $250 for them. Don't pay $600 for their food sensitivity tests. I asked what made their version almost $450 more than an Everlywell test and they replied that 'their tests test for more things.' Save your money and buy the upgraded Everlywell kit. The nutritionist I saw is also extremely condescending. I'm within a normal weight range, but admitted I hadn't worked out in about 2 months when I saw her. She was aghast and said 'you don't do *anything?*' which made me very uncomfortable for the rest of my appointment. All of the nutritional guidance she gave me could be found via a simple Google search. I spent $200 on that appointment and it was far from worth it. Avoid if you can. There are other holistic and functional nutritionists in Chicago that are worth your time and money. read more

This review addresses the Orland Park (LaGrange Road) location only. During the previous month, I attended 3 sessions pertaining to treatment for "back" issues. The first session involved sitting down with the onsite therapist to discuss the usual points, such as treatment options, suggested number of visits, & a preliminary physical evaluation. Upon completion of this conversation, minor activities such as stretching both the back & hip area were completed. This was a relatively quick visit, where it was explained that during the following sessions, a more "aggressive" standard would be started to loosen what was described as tight back muscles & minor spine misalignment. Before leaving, I inquired about insurance coverage, & was told that all claims would be submitted to the involved billing entity, but MY out of pocket costs should be "Somewhere around the $16 to $20 range." Another appointment was booked & attended, only this time, in addition to the stretching exercises, the therapist initiated physical "Hands On" attention to the back & spine area. Treatment time was less than 1 hour for this service. As before, I inquired about coverage cost & submission, but was again told the costs had not yet been submitted. Giving this the benefit of the doubt, I scheduled another session, submitting to similar physical manipulation & physical stretching exercises. Another session was booked, but before attending the scheduled service, I wanted some clarification as to the delay. Calling the business & speaking with an unidentified person, I was told the bill was being compiled, but I requested that before the end of that day, I would like to be notified of the current charges. I also requested another scheduled appointment be cancelled until a resolution of billing was completed. This call-back was never received. A few weeks later, I received a charged bill of over $340.00, a far cry from the initial conversation pricing. Reviewing this bill, there were items listed on there that were displayed as an extra charge, apparently not covered as standard physical therapy costs and/or charges. My complaint/concern is very simple. It seems there is a mindset on how to charge customers for service that would benefit Aligned, waiting to submit a bill for services, & manipulating the process that shows one thing but charges for something else in a questionable manner. There are many chiro practices in the area. If you choose to use Aligned, be sure to inquire about ALL of the charges, methods of treatments, timely submission of costs, & any other item that you may feel would be nice to know before you don't. read more

Coded nutrition service incorrectly so it would be disqualified as a legit claim to BCBSIL, hence a cash bill was presented to me. After I complained they sorted out the coding issue, they should have been well aware of. Nutritionist thought B12 can be derived from foods, after I said I have Pernicious Anemia. Clearly she did not understand the science behind PA. Oral B12 can never get absorbed by food once you have it. 2nd Nutritionist, after I made spreadsheets of labs and supplements, she didn't have much to say. After I gave her a lab from my main clinic, she said just ask your clinician questions about lab. Dr. I was assigned to by MA, left the company after 2 sessions. Sorry no thank you. Andrew the manager is extremely friendly and helpful! Shawn was extremely knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable with moving forward with an acupuncture treatment! He really asked so many questions and understood what I was hoping to achieve. The process itself lasted about 25 minutes. It didn't hurt at all and afterwards my painful and tight back, neck and shoulder all felt looser. That doesn't mean the problem is fixed, but compared to chiropractic work which I've done before this made me feel more improvement within one treatment. I also had knee stress and soreness and after the treatment it was gone! Although my insurance doesn't cover it, I think this is a great investment in my health. Expect to pay a lot of money and maybe feel a tiny bit better. My experience was this: I had a zoom appointment. The chiropractor/functional medicine person wrote a prescription for a blood draw. They drew 12 vials of blood. Second zoom appointment was going over all the results; what was high/low/normal. No diagnosis of any sort. She told me to buy 6 supplements through one of their partners that would have cost me $277 for a month supply, if I had ordered them. One of them was $80 and was essentially a multivitamin plus ginseng. A month later I get a notification from my bank that Aligned Modern Health just charged themselves $500 on my credit card. No notification. None. No opportunity to set up a payment plan nor was I told anything about cost beforehand. Just took the money. I do have good health insurance through BCBS. What an excellent team here at the Lincoln Park clinic! I came in with some back pain/issues years in the making, and in 2 months feel worlds better! Dr. Monaco and Jay were so helpful from the first moment. I haven't been feeling my healthiest lately, and knew that could be contributing to pain, but they never judged and always made me feel comfortable. I love that this isn't just an "adjust and go" kind of clinic, but they also spend time focusing on strengthening and exercises that not only help eliminate pain, but prevent it in the future. Jasmine at the front desk is also so sweet and helpful! I cannot recommend this clinic enough. This was my first chiropractic experience and I can be wary of seeing new doctors, but this team is exceptional. read more

A few things about this place worth noting. Man do I normally hate even trying to set up meetings with any type of doctor, much worse with chiropractors, because 160% of them never have an online platform, rarely show on ZocDoc and all that jazz - and are also impossible to book something with within reasonable timeframes commonly. Aligned Modern Health let's you schedule on ZocDoc, and because of the number of chiropractors that belong to the clinic, you can get an appointment at one of their locations for the same day or next day if necessary. I had really bad neck pain and was able to set up a meeting within 24hrs with Dr. Herrera. Overall it was a great experience, she was knowledgable, easy going, and very good at explaining things in plain english without making it feel dumbed down. The appt started on time, everyone was friendly, and you could tell she was trying to figure out what I needed rather than push the best/longest/most expensive set of services on me. Overall, I'd come back again (and I in fact will next week). Only docking one star because like their Wicker Park location, it can be tough to find parking in this area - it looks like Aligned Modern Health is mostly catering curious to see how it'll go for me when i come back during peak times.... at their Wicker Park location, I've had to cancel appointments because of not being able to even find parking- logan square seems tto lean that direction as well. read more

I received acupuncture from Joe Kay over the course of several weeks. Previously to my visits I experience disruptive chronic pain that was significantly impacting my overall wellbeing. Aligned Modern Health definitely did the job. The service from the Clinic Manager Andrew and Dr DiMaggio were great. I went in for a TMJ issue, which isn't your typical chiropractor issue. However, they were able to get me in quickly and provide relief quickly. It can be awkward to have someone work on your face and stick their finger in your mouth to fix you jaw. Dr. DiMaggio made it less weird and helped my jaw significantly each time. His work and bedside manner were awesome. Andrew's way of addressing you by your name every time and clearly explaining your coverage was awesome. They are reasons to come here. The reason I gave Aligned the stars I did was because of the physical therapist--the girl with the blonde hair. She totally needs to work on her beside manner. She was always very cold and seemed annoyed to have to work with me. Olympic gymnast McKayla is a teddy bear next to her. I always hated working with her. Keep in mind I was being charged more than $100 to work with someone unpleasant each of my visits to do something I could have done by reading an instruction sheet or given one demo. This, plus the service is where I felt ripped off. She was short, cold and would often look like she was wandering off in her mind into any other place than her client. She is why I won't go back to Aligned, especially this location. I don't pay you this much to do something I can do on my own and have you act like you are doing me a favor. My last session was with a different therapist who was a million times better. I don't remember her name, but she has dark hair and has a caring personality. Ask for her to be your PT. She was personable, did the exercises with me and didn't seem annoyed to work with me. She genuinely seemed to care. I wasn't just another number to her. Dr. Gies is a miracle worker!! After two years of major stomach pain, hormonal imbalance and feeling depressed because of my issues, Dr. Gies cured it all! Before finding Align, I went to my primary physician at Northwestern and family doctor in the suburbs and all they could tell me was I was "diabetes" or "just to wait out the pain" or to take birth control! Even after getting prescribed some funky pills at the endocrinologist, I still was not getting better. Then, after a million self-diagnoses, I finally found Align!! Andrew set me up with a 15 minute consultation and then a one-hour visit with Dr. Gies. While my health insurance thankfully covered my visit, Dr. Gies prescribed me 3 different tests (SIBO, blood work and adrenal test) which were pricey but finally I found someone who was willing to figure out what was wrong with me! After the test results came back, I actually did test positive for SIBO! Dr. Gies prescribed me a slew of supplements that all made sense after seeing my blood work. After just a week of taking them, I was 90% better!! Honestly, after this long of pain and discomfort made me lay in bed for hours at a time, I am so glad I found Dr. Gies. I owe her my life and my health and am back to working out, feeling great at work and no more major stomach pain!! The whole office is so nice and work with you to get to your health goals -- I will absolutely be utilizing Align for the rest of my life. read more

SO impressed by this place. I came in here recently because I had not seen a chiropractor in quite some time and needed a bit of back relief. I made an appt with Dr. Kasten and she was just phenomenal! On my first visit, she spent lots of time with me, assessing what my body could and could not do. She determined that my hips were just a bit out of alignment and that we needed to work on my posture. She put me on a massaging bed that loosens me up before the adjustment. She adjusted me thoroughly and then had me meet with the physical therapist John, who took me through some stretches and exercises for my back, arms and legs. He showed me some cool foam rolling techniques and asked me where I was having pain so we could avoid those areas. He is very skilled and friendly too! I come in once a week now to get adjusted by Dr. Kasten and get some quick workouts done with John. They have such an awesome staff here! This place is clean and looks brand new. They also offer massages, accupunture and have a nutritionist on staff. I also love the location of this place. It's right off Diversey and Broadway, just blocks away from my apartment. They also have a great referral program too! They can be a bit busy in the evenings, so making a daytime or Saturday appt would be your best bet. Everyone here is so kind and knowledgeable! I have never loved any healthcare location like I love Aligned Modern Health! Dr. Cora, Wendy, and Tetyana are basically the dream team. They're all so amazing, and just genuinely nice people. I've been coming here twice a week for help with my lower back pain, and the visits have made a huge impact on my quality of life. The other day I came in with a pretty bad back pain flare up that I previously thought only copious amounts of Aleve could fix. But they made it completely disappear -- like, it was 100% gone when I walked out the door. I was SO impressed! Just talking with Dr. Cora, you can tell she really knows her stuff, and it makes me feel so confident trusting her advice. I haven't been quite as in love with the functional medicine/nutrition side of AMH. Appointments have been a little unorganized and I left feeling kind of bummed. But the chiropractic care here is the best there is, and I can't stop telling anyone and everyone I know to come to here! read more

I started going to Aligned Modern Health back in September for my acne, migraines and stomach issues. I saw the functional medicine doctor, Dr. Gies who was very knowledgeable and helpful with the issues I was having, she recommended Dr. DiMaggio for chiro and the dietitian Jeannie. All three of them were wonderful to work with (the whole staff is), they actually care about you and it shows! I lived with chronic hip pain for the majority of my life (I'm 26), I saw multiple doctors regarding it but no one could ever pinpoint what was wrong so I started seeing Dr. DiMaggio and a physical therapist Tetyana who completely cured my hip pain (due to my hip flexor.) They work in tandem to find the root of the pain, address it and alleviate it as well tools to make sure it stays away. After my treatment, I had another pain spark in my lower back. After about a month, I decided to go back to see Dr. DiMaggio to explain the new pain and symptoms. Again, he tried to pinpoint the issue and gave me an exercise that helped alleviate pain immediately. Seriously, a miracle worker! The clinic manager, Andrew, is fantastic! He's very responsive and has great customer service. He really tries to work with you to save the most money you can and find appointments that are the most convenient for you. I've had a great experience with Aligned Modern Health. I went in with cyclical fatigue issues, and with the help of Dr. K.C. Gies, DC and Samara Shein, MS, RD I learned what some of the fundamental issues were causing the fatigue, and what natural ways I can use to fix them with lifestyle changes and temporary use of supplements. I started coming to Aligned after noticing recurring neck pain stemming from stress at work and staring at three computer screens all day. Dr Desai and all of the chiropractors I've seen at Aligned Modern Health have been great. I love that they are more focused on your recovery and strengthening than on indefinite, recurring appointments. The physical therapists are also amazing, and I had the good fortune to work with Adrian, who is both skilled and kind. Two weeks into training for the Chicago Marathon, I suddenly developed a pretty bad pain in my hip. I can't say enough about the great care I received. Dr. DiMaggio is a great listener and recommended a treatment plan that was within my budget (they don't take my insurance - only downside) and made a difference immediately. They offered a nice blend of chiropractic, PT, and massage that had me back to my regular training schedule in less than 2 week weeks. Chicago marathon here I come! read more

Was looking for a more holistic approach to health, so started getting acupuncture here. Unfortunately, they don't take my insurance, but I decided that $85 a session (which was raised to I think $90 or $95 in March 2017) was worth it. The acupuncturist, Sean, is a mix of a therapist and a healer. He really tried to get a sense of what was going on in my life, and then made decisions on needle location based on that, and any other physical symptoms I may have been having. The environment at this location is welcoming, kind, and promotes wellness, which I totally dig. It's worth it to invest in a better you, IMO. I did also get a massage there once, I actually didn't love love love it, but sometimes it's hard to when it hurts so good. Will be back for sure, when I need a tune-up/the next time life gets a little too overwhelming... read more

I thought chronic neck and back pain would be something I was relegated to deal with as a frequent flyer and triathlete. I am so glad I stopped into Aligned to inquire about their work. The space drew me in as inviting and calming. Dr. Desai, Adrian, and the team have been incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, professional, and set realistic goals and expectations for a path to my recovery. The entire experience has alleviated my pain and put me on a solid foundation of exercises and adjustments to my work and workout routines that seem to help prevent some of the pressure that led to my initial visit. Where to begin with Aligned Modern Health?! When I was in need of chiropractic care I was expecting (at least hoping) to start feeling better, but I never expected to find an office that functions as a family and treats their patients the same way. Let's talk about this stellar group of people because it truly is what makes this place extraordinary. Before I even stepped foot in the door I was welcomed and immediately felt taken care of when scheduling my appointment with the always smiling Meredith. She was so helpful in clarifying insurance and wonderful with scheduling both via telephone and email. Dr. Kasten was delightful from the very start. She was very knowledgeable in explaining and demonstrating the issues I was having, not to mention her adjustments make a world of difference! Bonus, I'm always proud to support a fellow UW Badger! In addition to that each session includes physical therapy exercises with the one and only Phil. With an ever-evolving selection of music following along with the somewhat awkward exercises is never boring. I leave feeling so much better I've also taken advantage of the great acupuncture and massage sessions available. Kate, my acupuncturist, is a joy to work with. She listened to my needs and answered any questions that arose. Never have I felt more relaxed. Mark, my massage therapist, knew exactly where and how to work out the knots in my neck and shoulders. Both have been excellent additions to my plan of care. If you're in need of any of the above services check Aligned Modern Health out as you will not be disappointed. I am beyond amazed at the benefits I have reaped (physically) from going to Aligned and seeing Dr. Kasten. I have been seriously ill for the past 4 months, seeing multiple doctors and having multiple procedures/tests at the hospital. While they failed to do more than prescribe me Valium for the symptoms I finally found relief by having my first chiropractor appointment at Aligned two days ago. Dr. Kasten took her time listening to all of the testing I have been through and adjusting her approach based on my diagnosis of an inner ear issue. I have been so dizzy for four months that I sometimes vomit just from walking. I have missed the entire summer and had to work from home. I have spent thousands in medical bills and gotten nowhere with doctors from Northwestern. And then I randomly walked into Aligned on Diversey yesterday and got an appointment right away. My vertigo decreased by at least 60% after just one appointment. I went from vomiting at least every 3 hours for 3 days straight to only feeling sick first thing in the morning. I went back tonight and feel even better. Dr. Kasten also took me through my x-rays which explain all of my symptoms...and even better, provide a plan to fix the route cause of the issues! I am simply astounded at how quickly I felt such immense relief from the dizziness and nausea. What's equally amazing is the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. Despite knowing that I am moving across the country in 1 week they dove right in and took on the issue. They even actively researched their colleagues in the Bay Area so that I can continue in trusted care upon my move. In my mother's words, it's nothing short of a miracle. In my (perhaps more practical) words, I am dumb-founded and amazed by the instant relief I am experiencing after four long months of continued illness. I was in a car accident in August and about a week after the accident and horrible pain in my neck and back, I went to seek some help. I couldn't be more thankful to all the help everyone at this location has given me to help get through the pain and recovery process after this rear end accident which resulted in a horrible whiplash and throbbing lower back pain. Aligned Modern Health has developed comprehensive treatments and care that is solely focused on getting the patient better and they have really helped me bounce back from this accident. I was impressed and happy about the improvement I continued to make over my numerous visits and although I am not completely back to feeling 100% and still have some pain occasionally, I know I can always go there and that they will all be there to help me. Dr. Maggie Kasten is an amazing doctor who is extremely knowledgable about chiropractic care. She is totally approachable, will listen to what you have to say and answer any questions you have. She truly does care about her patients and it shows in the time she takes to check in on the process and evaluate the progress that has been made. I found her to be so honest, straightforward and she even was so nice to lend me her own personal electronic therapy device to get through the first couple weeks of pain after the accident, which was super helpful on nights that I was in excruciating pain at home it really helped to calm my muscles. The rest of the employees there help to make your visit an easy process all around from the clinic manager Meredith, the massage therapists, the trainers (Phil & Amanda) and even the finance manager Micha I had to work with for the insurance claims who made going there an easy process and was so helpful in answering questions and helping with my claim. I always was excited to go there because I knew I would be feeling so much better after my visits. To go through a horrible and painful accident is not easy but the care, kindness and support I received from everyone there just made it so much easier and more bearable. I couldn't be more thankful to them and the help that they gave me. I would recommend this clinic to anyone who is in pain and is looking to get better because that has always been the focus for them. read more

Aligned Modern Health Diversey....how do I even begin to express my love of thee?! Let me do my best with this review. From the moment I first walked through your doors, I felt surrounded by support and encouragement that you don't find many other places. The casual yet professional atmosphere makes it feel as though you're among friends (who just happen to be awesome healthcare professionals) from start to finish. I truly look forward to my appointments and interacting with each and every staff member. Meredith greets you with a smile and is the BOMB at clarifying insurance benefits and out of pocket cost of services....I cannot stress this last part enough, as nobody likes insurance surprises. She takes the time to make sure that you know EXACTLY what to expect in terms of coverage. And then there's my fellow UW-Madison alumna (GO BADGERS) Dr. Kasten. She is amazingly thorough in her chiropractic examination and explains her adjustments step-by-step. I can honestly say that her adjustments are some of the most thorough I've ever experienced....I consistently leave feeling taller with more movement. Plus, she is super friendly and always takes the time to actually get to know you...I've never felt rushed through an appointment. Some clinics have the "crack and go" approach....which may work for week to week fixes, but doesn't always solve problems long-term. What I LOVE about AMH Diversey is that they not only help you in the moment...they also set up a plan to help support you (spinal pun intended) long term. I not only have the experience of a stellar adjustment at each appointment, I am also led through a series of rehabilitation exercises that can help my muscular/skeletal health long term. Some might say "ew, rehabilitation exercises....that doesn't sound fun at all." Well here's the kicker....you are led through every exercise by Phil. Which means its basically the most entertaining experience ever. If you haven't met Phil yet...you must. He's the highlight of my visit every time. Strengthening and stretching is WAY more enjoyable when you can have wonderfully easy, comfortable and HILARIOUS small talk with Phil along the way.
